Follow @arrowhead_one     Some guys have all the luck Some guys have all the pain Some guys get all the breaks Some guys do nothing but complain ~Rod Stewart       It seems like some teams have all the luck in acquiring their quarterbacks of the future. The Green Bay Packers had Bart Starr and Brett Favre and now Aaron Rodgers. I recall when the 49ers had Joe Montana in place with Steve Young waiting in the wings. The Cowboys have had Don Meredith, Roger Staubach, Troy Aikman…

Follow @arrowhead_one         This last weekend some OTAs (Organized Team Activities) kicked off in Kansas City. In one press conference, Andy Reid seemed to be a little unsure if the workouts were mandatory or voluntary. Check out the first 1:15 or so. Well let me clear that up, they were voluntary, so the whole team wasn’t there. These tend to be rookies, players looking for some extra reps to secure a roster spot, and often the starting quarterback.       The Reissue Issue As I was…

Follow @arrowhead_one Eye in the Sky Report 2017 Kansas City Chiefs By John Cooney – Senior Staff Writer for Fantasy Football Mastermind       The Draft is about a month past and it is a good time to review the picks while catching up on some OTA looks and off-season goings-on.   The Chiefs’ draft went down like this after all moves and trades were completed:   1.10- QB Patrick Mahomes, Texas Tech, from Bills (trade) 2.27- DL Tanoh Kpassagnon, Villanova 3.22- RB Kareem Hunt, Toledo, from Vikings through Dolphins (trade) 4.33-…

K.C. Chiefs and the Sunday Sum Up! 5.28.17

Follow @arrowhead_one   Hi guys! Another week has come and gone. We are now 7 days closer to the first snap of the preseason. I know it’s just the preseason but if you are reading this article you are probably as impatient as I am and can not wait for real Chiefs football. I know I am chomping at the bit to see the Chiefs crush the 49ers. It will be a welcome change to the barren wasteland that is the offseason. So, I guess I’ll give you what you…

NFL: The Kelce Effect

Follow @arrowhead_one       Travis Kelce is a budding superstar in the NFL who could potentially help lead the Kansas City Chiefs to the promised land in the near future. He can catch. He can block. He can dance. Come on, who doesn’t like the ferocity and charm he brings to the table. I am willing to bet that there are 31 other teams in the NFL who would love to have Mr. Kelce catching the ball for them.       I could go on and on about…

Follow @arrowhead_one OTA’s have started, but it’s still too early to tell much of anything. The real hitting doesn‘t start until training camp, and the real performance reviews don’t start til after the first preseason game. Sometimes all we have left to do is look forward. That’s right, I’m talking about roster predictions. Without further ado, here is my too early, sure to go wrong, under-cooked roster prediction for the 2017 Kansas City Chiefs: The Two Quarterbacks (2) 1. Alex Smith 2. Patrick Mahomes Right off the bat, I’m going…

Follow @arrowhead_one Arrowhead is undoubtedly the best home stadium in the NFL. Perhaps the world. The volume level of the fans here make it so. While the fans remain as loud, loyal, and true as you will find anywhere, there have been players who have not claimed Arrowhead — and Kansas City for that matter — as their one true home.   Back in the days before Curt Flood (baseball) and the birth of “free agency” professional players had to stay with one team their whole careers unless they were…
