Some of our most ardent Kansas City Chiefs fans, and ArrowheadOne supporters, have graciously shared their photos of training camp from yesterday, Tuesday, August 9. I was fortunate enough to spend the first two days at training camp this year so seeing these photos reminded me how great it is to see our men in red and gold dancing across a green green grove. Naturally, these pictures have a poetic quality to them so before sharing these these wonderful visions which tease and hint at the new season to come, here’s a piece of poetry I came across, which seems rather apropos. It comes from poetrylobby1 and goes like this,
Football Season Is Here
This is the time of year, that is long awaited by fans and players
It’s when we get to see behind the scenes, peel back the layers
When loyal fans get to know the results of a long awaited draft decision
To see your quarterback improve on accuracy and precision
You see running backs precise and elusive, while breaking through tackles
This is the time of year when players are set free, from off season shackles
Welcome back to the game of passion, enthusiasm and aggression
Take a seat fans and players, football is in session

Training Camp practice begins at 8:15 A.M this a morning and then the Chiefs will take Thursday and Friday off in preparation for their first preseason game vs. the Seattle Seahawks on Saturday at Arrowhead Stadium, 3:30 P.M.. We should be able to expect this to be a hardy practice as players will be in Full-Pads and it’s the last one until Monday at 8:15 A.M..
