ARROWHEADONE CHIEFS WEEK 12: GAME THREAD

Screen Shot 2016-07-24 at 9.35.52 PM

It is finally here. We all circled our calendars before the season began and said this is the game the Chiefs must win to show they are now the new dominant team in the AFC West. The 7-3 Kansas City Chiefs are traveling to meet the 7-3 Broncos in Denver and in some ways the timing could not be worse for the Chiefs. While the strength of Kansas City’s team has been its defense, the onslaught of injuries make them susceptible to the Denver rushing attack which is all their offense has going for it. In the meantime, the Broncos Defense is getting players back from injury and appears to be as healthy as they’ve been since opening day. In fact, general manager John Elway has recently signed his Safety Darian Stewart to a 4-year extension locking up all the key players in one of the best secondaries… if not in the league… then in recent memory.

Screen Shot 2016-07-24 at 9.39.35 PM

The Chiefs are looking to get their offense untracked and at the same time are hoping their defense can piece things together enough to shut down the Denver offense and give their own offense a chance to win one for a change… instead of having to win it on the back of the many turnovers they usually create. However, it looks like it might take a multiple-turnover game by the Chiefs D to help the offense win this one.

Screen Shot 2016-07-24 at 9.39.35 PM

The Broncos are 3.5 point favorites going into this contest but NFL.com says Denver wins only 52.8% of the time. All five writers at USA Today say the Broncos come out on top but that’s no surprise since USA Today rarely likes the Chiefs. Only one out of eight writers at CBS Sports has taken the Chiefs. At NFL.com Bucky Brooks is taking the Chiefs while Daniel Jeremiah says he thinks that K.C. has a better team but he’s picking Denver.

Screen Shot 2016-07-24 at 9.39.35 PM

I have picked the Chiefs all year long but my gut (which is way too big after a substantial Thanksgiving celebration) says that it’s going to be Denver 21, Kansas 20… or 23 if Santos makes all his FG tries. Yes, today you can call me Mr. Waffle (and no, this is not a commercial for The Waffle House).

So, what do you think Chiefs fans? Have any “waffley” type predictions you’d like to share?

Should Denver be held to only 21 points by Kansas that would be a huge improvement as they allowed K-State to run up 34 against them yesterday.

It will be very interesting to see which players Reid has active for tonight’s game. Will the list include Dadi Nicolas? Will it include the new number 39, Terrance Mitchell, DB?

  • mnelson52

Personally, I think we have too many injuries to beat a completely healthy Broncos team. If both teams were completely healthy I would pick the Chiefs to win. Even some of our defensive guys that are playing are slowed down by injury. We can’t seem to get a break. I read somewhere that the Chiefs have the 2nd hardest schedule in the NFL for the last 6 games.

    • berttheclock

One of the worst things to do for any team is to attempt to play for better draft positions. The Chiefs will not do that by choice, but, the injuries and the fact the teams they still have to face are all improving, may well put the Chiefs in better selection position. The Lombardi trophy is looking to be a bit further away than any of us wanted to see.

Now, if Laddie will just cue up Frank Sinatra’s version of “High Hopes”.

I wonder how Nate Silver would view the current odds.

      • ladner morse

I still do have high hopes… and one reason is… the Packers won he Super Bowl 5 years ago with a load of injuries. I think Dorsey knows this, so he’s continued to load up the back end of the roster with quality guys. Now, we’ll get to see if that’s enough.

In addition, the NY Giants won a SB a few years back when for several weeks they had to keep moving two offensive linemen off and on the PS.

        • tm1946

Doubt it, Reid was a hot HC when the West Coast offense was new and bright and shiny. Also he had a QB would was pretty good and fit. With the Chief’s, he ain’t much, win 10 games probably, must win one game, no. All of a sudden the team does not have much talent on the field, some injuries but most of this roster could walk and it could be replaced by guys off the next draft., Special thanks to Dorsey for all the depth.

          • berttheclock

Quite a bit harsh there as I don’t see many teams having starters riding the lower portions of their respective rosters. Perhaps, the recent signings by Dorsey are not of the finest quality, but, they can still play in the NFL. Just review the myriad of injuries to other NFL teams and you will find a great deal of walking wounded playing.

          • tm1946

            Ford stepped up, Sorenson also…..

Elite teams find a way to survive, the Chief’s become Geo. Custer and wait to die.

          • berttheclock

You kept knocking Dorsey for even taking Ford as you truly believe any first rounder MUST play his first year and play VERY WELL. Did you know had Bill Cowher been the HC of the Chiefs, he would not have even played Ford until this season as he believes it takes 3 years for any college DE to be able to switch to OLB in a 3-4 NFL defense? Dorsey drafts the same way Bill Walsh did and that is for the future, in find the potential talent and have your coaches do their thing in coaching them up. Walsh never drafted for the immediacy, however, if any pick performed early, it became gravy for him.

          • tm1946

Ford was a need pick, they are usually wasted and UNTIL this season he NEVER got on the field. Kudos to Ford and Dorsey for 10 games in 2016…..can lose a lot drafting that way.

          • berttheclock

In the NFL, you lock up potential where ever you can find them.

          • tm1946

Come on you know better. Ford was picked just in case Dorsey could not sign Hali, then Hali signed and Ford sat.

I am a great believer in first round needs to be the best player available. Ford was a reach, did a fine job this year but what could we have on the roster if he had not been taken?

          • berttheclock

So freakin’ what? Makes no difference. Of course, he was signed to replace Hali, but, that did not mean he should have been able to play OLB his first year. Allowing him to play behind both Hali and Houston allowed his development. I have said repeatedly what Bill Cowher has said. It is very difficult for any college DE who only has that quick first step to pass rush to be able to drop back into an OLB slot in a 3-4 defense. Those who developed very early in such are extremely rare. But, Dorsey knew he had to lock up a player for the future and taking him in the first round was NOT a mistake.

          • ladner morse

I think Ford was drafted to … eventually… be Hali’s replacement. Dorsey always drafts ahead. Look at the Chris Jones pick with Dontari Poe’s contract coming up. It’s good business yes…. AND good football.

          • Laurels and limitations

Not too sure about the making players wait to play thing. Hill, Davis, Peters, DAT, Jones, Morse, Ehinger, Gaines, Kelce, are all players that have had significant playing time as rookies, I’m sure there are more that I am forgetting.

          • berttheclock

Much depends on the particular position. OLB in a 3-4 is very difficult to learn for a college DE who is only used to taking that quick first step and attacking the QB. Of course, there are many rookies who have been able to pick up the game quickly, but, for many others rushing them too early has been a detriment to their overall development.

          • Laurels and limitations

Yeah, I think any GM would like the advantage and liberty to allow a player to develop a la Bill Cowher, but that it is also not feasible in today’s NFL league. Too much haste.

          • berttheclock

I have witnessed top round QBs ruined in the NFL by owners demanding their respective HCs play the player because he had been paid so much. It happened with the Texans and Carr and it happened in Seattle with the ND QB. Absolutely, thrown to the wolves behind very porous offensive lines.

          • Laurels and limitations

truthiness, but a fair number of QBs have come in and done well also, Wilson in Seattle, Big Ben in Pittsburgh are just the two that jump right to the top of my head.

          • ladner morse

I have to disagree with your perception of the depth. John Dorsey has done a wonderful job of stocking the back end of this roster… guys like Jaye Howard, Ron Parker, Justin March, Spencer Ware, Ross Travis, and Anthony Sherman are all guys he’s either traded adeptly for or picked up off of practice squads or signed as free agents…….. and then they found themselves starting at some point or getting loads of playing time and having lots of success. I’m not sure what your beef is with Dorsey but I think it’s unfounded.

          • tm1946

You are right, but not one could not be replaced by just about anyone. March, I do not agree with and the OC seldom uses Sherman.

My point in our 3+year we are not ver y good, we cannot run or pass, we seldom stop the run and do not seem aware there are 3rd downs in a game.

          • ladner morse

But is that Dorsey or Reid? I would agree… there is tons of talent on offense but very little success on offense.

On D, I think Sutton plays a bend but don’t break stye of D where he sucks the other team into running early when his team is really in control of stopping the run then finally clamps down the run later forcing them to pass giving his young backs time to adjust to the other team’s WRs. It’s the best he can do given his young defensive backfield.

          • berttheclock

Yes and I wonder if they will activate Terrance Mitchell, who did play some regular season games with Dallas at nickle corner. He had one INT and one sack. If he plays, look for Number 39.

          • tm1946

Football is still a team sport, you all win or you all lose. Blame them all, just thought by now we would have been better.

          • ladner morse

I thought by now that… the offense would have been better.

It’s hard to complain about a defense that’s top five against points allowed.

          • Laurels and limitations

I like our defense, they are the most talented team to inhabit an ICU in some time, lol.

          • berttheclock

Yes, it is still a team sport and that includes the coaching staff, but, when, you have a dictator who refuses to listen to his own players such as Chilly and will not allow any of them to criticize his inept play calls or change any of his “Genius” playes to the point of demanding the GM to cut or trade them or even a HC who has the habit of over thinking players plays to the point he gets too cute, then, you have major problems which may well be never addressed by the ownership until it is too late.

          • mnelson52

It’s because of our depth that we have reached 7-3 with so many injuries. How would the Broncos look if they lost Miller and half of their D line. I believe that most teams would and have gone under with the amount of injuries the Chiefs have had.

          • larry mckinney

Agree. tm1946 is ‘specially gloomy today.

        • mnelson52

I have high hopes but kind of mediocre on expectations. If we could keep our team healthy, my expectations would go up a lot.

    • larry mckinney

Broncos have the toughest finishing schedule, so that’s a wash.

  • mnelson52

Will tonight be the 1st time this year for our offense to score a TD against a good defense? I think the team has to score at least 3 TDS tonight whether it comes by offense, STs, or the D. I would really love to see the offense step up and win this one.

  • jimfromkcj

Could be a blowout either way. Depends on the turnovers.

    • mnelson52

Las year Denver won the 1st game getting 5 TOs. The 2nd game the Chiefs won getting 5 TOs

  • freshmeat62

Fortunately, I believe the Denver offense is as bad as the Chiefs. Unfortunately, the Chiefs defense is pretty banged up. Will this offense ever ‘pull it’s head out’? Very frustrating knowing that they have played better in the past (years), and this years offense, I believe, has better personnel. If Houston can get just a little of his dominance back, especially against Stephenson, the Chiefs have a chance. To me this one is like that Michigan/Ohio St game yesterday. It’s going to the wire, and I don’t know who will trip over it.

    • mnelson52

I don’t think Stephenson is starting today

      • berttheclock

Interesting to see if he will be replaced by Sambrailo out of Colorado State. He was Merlin’s secret pick in the draft. The Broncos took him and had to plug him in far too early to play LOT. This year, they have tried to move him to backup at ROT.

        • mnelson52

I believe I read somewhere that Sambrailo would be starting in place of Stephenson even though he is healthy.

          • berttheclock

Last week, Stephenson was owned by the defensive player he had to block and was benched. He has never had the proper upper body strength. He has never had the quick feet to move. I still recall extremely well who the very next player in that draft who was taken by Seattle. Russell Wilson. Funny thing is last week I read that Andy Reid wanted the Eagles to draft Wilson, but, was over ruled.

        • Merlin

True, but I like him as a guard, not a tackle.

  • berttheclock

I have never bought the adage “best player available” for any GM of worth in the league. I believe most of the best GMs do draft for need and they look for the best player available for that need. Dorsey has had a propensity to draft for the future as in knowing he will have upgrade his offensive line, or outside linebacker or corner back with an eye out for training to replace other players in those positions who will be,either moving on, or leaving the team for various reasons. So, the next six games will be crucial to gain any insight as to what position and/or positions Dorsey will be looking at in the first three rounds in next year’s draft. With the aging of various players and the large contracts to others, that draft will come down to “For the future” in such positions as OLB, ILB, QB and, perhaps, safeties.

    • ladner morse

While I came to the same conclusion about the BPA… it was some time ago… but what is new to me in the past few years is that each GM’s board is completely and dramatically different… especially the good ones. For the Chiefs I think that includes “locker room fit” and while I used to think that meant “high character” I now think that Dorsey would say it still does includes “high character” but that comes with a price –> his vetting process. That process is SUPPOSED to weed out those not worthy but KeiVarae Russel might indicate that doesn’t always work out.

      • berttheclock

I still check out the Bengals depth chart to see if Russel will move up at some point from their 4th DB on one side. So far, there has been no movement, but, he is still with Cincy.

        • ladner morse

Still quite a come-down for a guy we all hoped could come in and start opposite Peters.

          • berttheclock

Especially, when Worley was right behind him in the draft.

          • mnelson52

I have to admit I was excited about getting Russell.

          • ladner morse

            Me too.

  • tm1946

Not expecting much tonite, can we win, maybe. Can we lose, last week’s game says….yes.

Just looks like unless Chief’s are at full strength and a great game plan ( when was the last time we had a great game plan?), ain’t a chance in hell the game is even watchable.

    Just not expecting much.

  • berttheclock

This is for Merlin when he comes aboard. Did you see where Draft Tek has picked the Chiefs at 25 to take the outstanding QB from Clemson, Deshaun Watson in the 2017 draft?

    • mnelson52

I guess that would mean we win 1 playoff game. Or none if we get the bye

      • berttheclock

Walter Football has the Chiefs selecting at 28 and taking Dan Feeney, a powerful OG from Indiana. At least Draft Tek is far more realistic with the 25 position.

        • Laurels and limitations

It’s just that so much is going to change regarding picks and the draft between now and then.

          • berttheclock

True, plus the Under Wear Olympics, but, as I wrote below, the next six games may well decide the types of players Dorsey will have to zero in on next May or late April.

          • Laurels and limitations

I’m betting that an order of precedence has already been put in place for next year’s draft. I also believe that Dorsey’s team is working at finalizing it and even expanding upon it. The one thing I am hoping for is that Dorsey has a legitimate plan in place for the offseason so that having to jump through hoops again in the draft will not be necessary. Absolutely nothing has changed my mind as to thinking that Dorsey was performing damage control in moving back and going after so much secondary last year.

So which would anyone prefer? To take a Dee Ford and allow him to take 3 years to become a star player? Or to take “The Can’s Miss” Aaron Curry, the top rated LB coming out of college, pay him $60 M with $34 M guaranteed, have him star in his very first NFL game his first week in regular season in the NFL, only to fade out of the league after playing for 3 different NFL teams in 4 years?

He, now, is the defensive line coach for the Charlotte 49ers.

Herm Edwards, who had departed the Chiefs kept raving about the need for the Chiefs to draft him in the 1st round.

  • mnelson52

What’s the weather in Denver tonight?

    • berttheclock

40 to 41 degrees, (feel more like 34 to 36 degrees) with a 12 to 13 MPH wind changing directions during the game.

      • mnelson52

That wind and temperature could hurt us on our FGs.

Amazingly, while this is ongoing, they are using him more akin to a single wing blocking back for Gordon and he is really opening holes for him.

      • Laurels and limitations

Gates has always been more of a complete TE than Gonzales was, some people might construe that as blasphemy, but the truth often has historically been so.

          • berttheclock

I’m not sure, it might come to that…Gaines, Ackers….?

          • mnelson52

          • Laurels and limitations

true, but I also think the FO has to be prepared for both of them to play with limitations. This defense is so damn beat up.

          • Laurels and limitations

funny part is, both team’s offenses are bad so it comes down to the defense and not screwing up. The Denver offense is bad enough that even at half mast the KC defense can hang with them, this game might come down to Reid/Smith pulling off the game plan of KC’s season so far…I predict cutesy play calls and MOAR jet sweep, lol.

Seeing an awful lot of jet sweeps and reverses this year, I’m not sure if I should consider it as evolution or regression of NFL offense.

    • mnelson52

Just the same ole same ole for the Chiefs. It takes perfect executon since the defense always knows it is coming.

      • Laurels and limitations

yup, it takes a small wrinkle in execution, and that makes me sad because the defense knows it’s coming but at this point the best Reid can put out is “gimped up TE jet sweep, cuz’ they never see it comin’!”

    • KCMikeG

Lions ran a jet sweep with TE Ebrons who scored. If our game hadn’t been played at the same time I would had believed that’s where Reid got the awful idea.

      • Laurels and limitations

I think that the NFL channel said that there had been three TE jet sweeps that scored this year. Not wanting to be seen as a follower in lieu of a innovator, Reid decided to be the first Oc to use a hamstrung TE instead of a healthy, fast TE to attempt the play.

@DannyBKelly lol those work mostly against man coverage. Most red zone defenses aren’t man.— Geoff Schwartz (@geoffschwartz) November 27, 2016

  • Chiefs-Kings-A’s

    Hola mi amigos!
So—-spent a lot of time over the last few days with LOTS of Raider fans and one thing was a unanimous opinion……they are all rooting for Denver.
The reason? They see the Chiefs as a bigger threat to them than Denver.
Obviously, the only Chiefs game they have watched all season is the one where we beat them LOL

  • berttheclock

Hey Mssrs Dorsey and Reid, Rod Streater has caught one pass for 25 yards for the Niners against Miami. Yeah, I know, he is both too tall and too expensive for the Chiefs. Plus, he knows how to separate and get open.

  • Laurels and limitations

It's been frustrating to watch on Coaches film, how many times the little things in execution kept the O w/ a 2-3yd play instead of 20+— Nick Jacobs (@Jacobs71) November 27, 2016

  • Laurels and limitations

crazy lack of good choices in this article, but Cousins and Taylor are worth kicking the tires on, at least.
    http://profootballtalk.nbcsports.com/2016/11/25/teams-may-be-very-thankful-for-the-2017-quarterback-market/

    • ladner morse

At least Cousins is willing to pull the trigger…..

      • Laurels and limitations

as is Taylor, Tyrod for all of his detractors is a pocket passer first who only scrambles when he has to, exactly what I wish KC would look for in the QB department.

      • mnelson52

While Cousins and Taylor may throw a few more picks than Smith, I believe they will also put up more points than Smith. We need someone that can throw in tight coverage to help overcome Reids play calling at times.

        • Laurels and limitations

I’m not sure that Reid doesn’t want some of those “tight” throws, if anything I’m betting we are seeing the ying meets the yang in Reid and Smith.

    • KCMikeG

      Cousins isn’t going anywhere.

      • Laurels and limitations

agreed, unless his agent plays hardball..gotta keep your options open.

        • KCMikeG

Heard they will franchise tag him

          • Laurels and limitations

could be, I would, but who knows.

  • Laurels and limitations

If I was Dorsey I would sign S. Smith Sr. today if I thought for one solid second that Smith would throw to him.

  • Laurels and limitations

Tyrod Taylor folks, look at this arm..

Chargers win 21-13 over the Texans.

    • ladner morse

AFC West is now 27-14. Got to be the best division in football.

      • mnelson52

I wish Kuekley (or however it’s spelled ) wasn’t out against the Raiders today.

        • Laurels and limitations

          absolutely a game changer.

    • mnelson52

Titans are getting better and may win that division. That also makes me worry a little more about playing the Titans. I saw Marriota hit some beautiful passes today that only his man could catch.

      • ladner morse

I was big on Mariota coming out. Goes through his reads as fast as anyone I’ve ever seen.

        • Laurels and limitations

          faster than Tebow, #getouttahere!!

        • mnelson52

Yep. I wish he was a Chief. I think Smith doesn’t see past a 2nd Read very often. I believe the good QBs see about three reads at once when they first scan the field.

          • Laurels and limitations

and those are the guys that actually scan the whole field, which I do not think Smith is. Smith is a “pre=snap” QB (kind-of, well, not really) that is required to see mismatches and defensive schemes at the LOS..we ain’t got time for this actually playing football stuff.

      • KCMikeG

They gave up 21 – should have been 28 with two drops in the end zone to end the game. Against the Bears….

        • mnelson52

Yes I saw that. They had a lot of drops today, and should have won. That’s on Titans defense though. Mariota still looked good. We seldom put up 27.

          • Laurels and limitations

22.5 average as a matter of fact.

          • mnelson52

Yep. That game against the Chargers where we got 33 in 5 quarters boosted that average up. Lol

          • Laurels and limitations

            lol, sure did.

    • Laurels and limitations

and we all had a small piece of our selves die in the process.

      • KCMikeG

Dolt’s win makes AFCW look better & improves the quality of our wins over them

        • Laurels and limitations

I get that, I just don’t take much stock in what everyone else is doing. KC needs to handle stuff on their own. If KC wins their games, playing their ball, they can control their own destiny. What KC cannot do is control what Oakland is doing to Miami right now, or how SD took care of business today. Plus, KC has 2-3 ugly wins this year that all forgotten about HOW they won, but THAT they won is in the books. Us homeristic fans are the only people that care about how the team won.

    • tm1946

SD is not going to roll over and play dead, yet.

  • Laurels and limitations

Lol, Sean Smith STILL has hands of stone.

    • mnelson52

It looked like he closed his hands before the ball got there.

      • Laurels and limitations
        • mnelson52

Who’s the QB in the video? We need him

          • Laurels and limitations

oh, you know, that guy from quantum leap, lol.

          • mnelson52

After he wins though, he will leap to different life.

  • KCMikeG

Lose to the Bucs not looking so bad as they are owning Seattle 14-0

    • Laurels and limitations

      that loss still sucks..

      • KCMikeG

True but not an awful team as some have tried to say

        • Laurels and limitations

I’m not saying they are, but I AM saying that KC couldn’t get the job done when they should have..it was a bad product fielded by KC in every single facet that should have been a W, not an L.

          • KCMikeG

Agreed we were ugly but still just one play from winning. I still have not heard an explanation of why we punted vs taking a 53 yard FG. Would have won the game.

          • Laurels and limitations

yeah, crazy call…it’s almost seemed (to me anyway) that Reid was trying to install some confidence into the offense..but I dunno.

          • mnelson52

I don’t see where punting would give the offense confidence. Might show some in defense. To me it didn’t matter where the Bucs started. They kept ending up in the red zone starting from anywhere kicking FGs. Pinning them deep just meant they would eat up more clock to get there.

          • Laurels and limitations

Yup, punting doesn’t cure a thing, heck, if you want to give the ball away try a hail mary.

          • mnelson52

Yep. There’s always a chance to catch it, or get a PI called. Even an INT would have been good if the tackle after was made.

          • KCMikeG

Clock we desperately needed at the end.

          • mnelson52

I think it was because of the wind. I still would have tried. Santos was rolling with 8 or 9 consecutive FGs.

          • KCMikeG

Nope – I was there and the flags were hanging limp on the goal posts. With the wind being ruled out I still don’t get it.

          • mnelson52

Me either. At the time it was a chance to take the lead.

          • berttheclock

Geez, who are you going to believe, your eyes at the moment or some meteorologist?

          • Laurels and limitations

            lol.

        • mnelson52

Apparently they’re good enough to beat us at Arrowhead. At least on that particular day.

        • berttheclock

EXACTLY. Oops, for some reason, my “caps” stuck.

          • Laurels and limitations

            whateva Tamba.

    • tm1946

Still stinks, their beating SEA is meaningless.

      • KCMikeG

Except for Seattle being discussed as Super Bowl contender and losing at home shows that we didn’t lose to a “bad” team like said.

  • berttheclock

Rod Streater caught 4 passes for 46 yards with the longest being one of 25.

    Nah, we didn’t need him.

    • Laurels and limitations

yeah, cuz those 46 yards and 0 TDs would have given KC another W. Lol, just kidding around Bert.

    • mnelson52

Like I said. We have Wilson. Are you not happy. Lol..kind of sickening isn’t it

      • berttheclock

The young man from Westport kept insisting it was due to the many incentives in his contract.

        • mnelson52

What a concept, having to pay for good receivers.

          • berttheclock

Yeah. Why we couldn’t have possibly kept him. He might have done good.

          • mnelson52

Between Reid and Smith, he may not have reached the point to get the incentives. .lol

  • mnelson52

Raiders have scored 2 TDs in a little over one quarter. Our offense got 0 TDs against the Panthers in 4 quarters.

  • Laurels and limitations

The good news is that ALL the leftover apple pie is gone, the BAD news is that all the leftover apple pie is gone.

    • berttheclock

A tear forms. We have one slim piece of pumpkin pie from Costco left.

But, a ton of whipping cream.

  • berttheclock

Heading over to Costco earlier today in Hazel Dell, we saw a tricked out Seahawks car. It was a small Chrysler which was painted the Seahawks action green with some wolf grey and blue on it, plus, two large Seahawks’ flags flowing. The 12th Man in our area gets a little tetched at times.

  • berttheclock

Meanwhile, in Tampa Bay, Russell Wilson was driving the Seahawks for a late score, when, he was picked off by Verner. Stepped in front of Paul Richardson, the speedy former Colorado Buffalo.

  • Chiefly Bacon

Bucks play against Seattle is making me feel a little better.

    • berttheclock

Yeah, even Spence chasing Wilson showed some Giddy Up. Didn’t catch him, but, stopped him from making a first down.

      • berttheclock

Plus, four sacks against the Seattle so-called offensive line, not allowing them to run, plus Mike Evans using all of his six five and speed to beat Richard Sherman for a TD.

  • berttheclock

However, as I mentioned earlier on the morning thread, I would love to see some player of the Chiefs do what Doug Baldwin did last week to his own OC when he didn’t like the play which had been sent in, turned and flipped off that same OC. The play happened to work and Baldwin tried to laugh it off. He was just fined by the NFL, as well as Burfict for flipping off during a game. But, I wish some player or players of the Chiefs would take the financial hit to do the same to both Reid and Chilly.

    • mnelson52

I’m of the opinion that we would be better off without Chilly

      • mnelson52

Never thought I would miss Pedersen

        • Chiefs-Kings-A’s

          I miss Charlie Weis

    • berttheclock

That play, BTW, was a hand off to Baldwin by Wilson, with Wilson going out left towards the end zone and Baldwin hitting him with a TD pass.

  • mnelson52

I’m ready to watch the Chiefs

  • mnelson52

    K. Mack just got a pick 6 for the Raiders that are beating Panthers 24-7 with 1 minute till halftime.

Recently, Brock Osweiler was named the worst FA pickup of the season.

      • berttheclock

I had to laugh as I remember McNair from his days in horse racing as he made a slew of mistakes in buying horses or naming jockies to ride them.

  • berttheclock

I wish the crew of Pete Morelli could be notified by a call against the Seahawks. Crucial 3rd down play and Seattle was flagged on a pick for offensive pass interference. Morelli’s crew will be in Denver later today.

  • berttheclock

Seattle is zero for seven on 3rd down plays and was just stuffed on a 3rd and one.

    • berttheclock

Actually, they are, now, zero for nine and Graham, the TE, tried for the first down, but, fumbled the ball and Tampa Bay had a great run back.

  • berttheclock

Ted Ginn, Jr, just burned the Raiders with a very long TD catch and run. Geez, he played with Alex Smith so long ago in the Bay. Still has wheels.

  • mnelson52

Carolina has come back on the Raiders. It’s 25-24 Panthers.

    • mnelson52

      Panthers have blown 3 PATs

    • KCMikeG

Loving it!!!! Revenge of the Chiefs Day! Hudson dislocates Carr”s finger/causes fumble followed by Smith giving up TD!!

      • sidibeke

KC’s injury curse extends beyond the confines of Arrowhead. Wow, it’s strong this year.

      • KCMikeG

Smith dropped an easy pick six earlier too!

  • sidibeke

Tampa and Car making KC look not quite so bad.

  • Chiefs-Kings-A’s

Always fun to see Sean Smith get burned for a TD

    • sidibeke

Almost as fun as it is to see ol’ Do Stephenson give up a sack. Let’s see some of that this evening.

  • berttheclock

Turn out the lights in Tampa Bay. Only one for eleven in 3rd down plays, with six sacks and two picks. The last just put the nail in the coffin. However, Tampa Bay tried to give it away as they scored a TD in the 4th quarter only to have an o-lineman called for hands to the face, then, with Evans gaining the position to the out side in the end zone against Sherman, Winston threw the ball far to the inside to a wide open Chancellor.

    • berttheclock

They were in easy FG range on that pick.

  • Chiefs-Kings-A’s

Jets score to take the lead on NE

    • berttheclock

Almost a dog day afternoon, eh?

  • KCMikeG

Cam missed a wide open Funchess on the play he forced to Benjamin. AS11 isn’t the only one.

  • sidibeke

Oak goes for 2 if they score.

  • Chiefs-Kings-A’s

Tampa bay creeping up on Atlanta means Atlanta will be playing us very hard next week

    • sidibeke

At least they don’t have a prove-it game like we had when we ran into that buzz saw in Pit.

  • sidibeke

    Dammit!

  • berttheclock

There was a scary moment for the Tampa Bay fans as after Wilson was picked with about a minute nineteen remaining and the ball deep in Tampa Bay territory, the intercepting safety tried to emulate Eric Berry and was hit several times. The Tampa Bay HC was screaming “Fall down, fall down”. Fortunately, for them, he did not fumble. Wonder what his Wonderlic was?

    • Chiefs-Kings-A’s

      Lol

  • mnelson52

Oak just tied the game 32-32

    • KCMikeG

Plenty of time for them to lose

      • sidibeke

Or pull out a ridiculous win like the one in TB. Curse them.

    • Chiefs-Kings-A’s

How did they go from the worst team in the division to possibly the best team so fast?

      • sidibeke

QB play. Carr has grown up.

        • KCMikeG

Easy there – he threw the INT that turned the tide in this game too

          • sidibeke

And what he has brought to the team far outweighs his detriment, at least so far this season. He just marched them down the field and threw a 2 pt conversion. I’d love to see AS do that again (remember the SD game).

          • Laurels and limitations

Carr has brass balls that clank, Smith has balls that…um..clank like cotton. or something remarkably soft..ah the hell with this, you get what I mean, lol.

          • sidibeke

            lol

          • berttheclock

I remember when Alex Smith went to the Fresno Pro Day along with Dilfer to observe Carr.

          • Laurels and limitations

            that makes me sad.

      • Laurels and limitations

it wasn’t fast, at all. The younger Davis cat allowed RM to get them out of salary cap hell, then build the team through both free agency and the draft, with an emphasis on the draft. RM has done one helluva job.

      • berttheclock

First, you get rid of your ridiculous Cap, then, you build a quality offensive line and bring in Mike Tice, who is an excellent offensive line coach. Just for starters.

        • Laurels and limitations

          pow!!

Refs allowing the WRs top push hard, knowing the penchant of KC to play separation instead of hands on I hope the refs in KC’s game do the opposite.

    • mnelson52

That was a rediculus push off that they didn’t call.

      • Laurels and limitations

thought the same thing, maybe the league is reverting back to the good times. Naw, ain’t gonna happen.

        • mnelson52

Just for certain teams. We’re not one of them

    • berttheclock

There was one offensive pass interference called against the Seahawks for a pick by the crew of Bill Vinovich.

      • Laurels and limitations

if the league really wanted to they could flat out crack down on pick plays, but they are viewed as exciting so they will undoubtedly be allowed to continue.

        • berttheclock

Funny thing was Wilson missed a wide open receiver.

          • Laurels and limitations

            whaaaaaaat!? say it ain’t so!!

Did he at least see him

          • Laurels and limitations

nope mascara got in his eyes.

          • berttheclock

Wilson had a very busy day as he was sacked six times and was running for his life much of the day.

Have not checked the final stats, but, Wilson was the leading rusher for most of the game for Seattle. They stuffed Rawls except for one play.

  • berttheclock

I am not a Buffalo fan, but, it was refreshing to see the new owner and business partner of her husband, Terry Pegula, meet and greet so many Buffalo fans and talk with the players on the field. Kim Pegula is an equal partner in the ownership of the Bills and she is so refreshing to see walking up to the crowd at the lowest tiers of the stadium, smiling and shaking hands with everyone.

  • Chiefly Bacon

Panthers will look back on that punt on 4th and 1 and know that’s when they lost the game. That said, officiating is distinctly slanted towards Oakland.

    • mnelson52

Panthers not getting 3 PATs didn’t help

      • Laurels and limitations

I haven’t been watching the game, did Car. miss the PATs or go for 2s?

As frustrated as I’ve been with Alex Smith, not sure Cam Newton is much better. Holding onto the ball way too long, couldn’t find his outlet on the blitz. Seems to crumble under pressure. It is really tough to find a good QB in this league.

    • berttheclock

I noted below a play by Winston which would have put the game away today. He had the six five Mike Evans with the sideline next to him in the end zone with Richard Sherman coming up from behind, but, Winston threw the easy pass to the inside and directly into the arms of Kim Chancellor.

      • berttheclock

It reminded me of his play last week when he tried to force the pass which Berry took back to the house. Had he not thrown the ball or just threw it out of bounds, the Bucs were in position for an easy FG.

    • mnelson52

But they scored 32. We’ve only done that once this year

      • Laurels and limitations

        semantics, simple semantics.

      • Chiefly Bacon

That’s true. Cam’s probably better, but I feel like he’s not very clutch. Folds under pressure.

Tips for somehow possibly winning this game
    1. Ride Spencer Ware and Travis Kelcie, ignore the WRs
    2. Intercept Sieman early and often
    3. Don’t miss FGs, Don’t turn the ball over and don’t let Denver score at all

@codybtapp @TJCarpenterWHB @dcwhb I can't see the Chiefs winning the any of the next 5 games I have them at 7-9 missing the playoffs.— Panda Man (@ShoelessJayhawk) November 28, 2016

  • Laurels and limitations

KC can’t score 30 plus versus BAD defenses, yet they will eclipse that tonight?

    @TJCarpenterWHB chiefs 34 broncos 24— John McGrath (@jm4ksu) November 28, 2016

    • mnelson52

No way do they score 30

      • Laurels and limitations

not unless a tsunami hits and wipes out the Denver sideline.

        • mnelson52

I’m hoping for 4 FGs and holding Denver to ten or less points

          • Laurels and limitations

I just want to see the Chiefs compete by scoring time consuming touchdowns, and carrie underwood in a bikini..guess I better keep wishing.

          • mnelson52

I like the way you think

        • mnelson52

If both teams were healthy instead of just Denver’s, I would like our chances

          • Laurels and limitations

Yeah, I would too, but that is neither here nor there. Wherever you go, there you are.

  • Heilios

    What’s up guys!

    • Chiefly Bacon

Lots of fear and trepidation with just a hint of false hope. Go Chiefs!

  • Heilios

KC 21 Den 17. What ya think?

    • Heilios

Ware two rushing td and a quick pass to Kelce for a td

    • Merlin

I can’t pick the Chiefs tonight. Too hurt, Denver at home off a bye week. I hope I am wrong.

      • Laurels and limitations

        lol.

  • Heilios

    Here we go

  • Heilios

    Already going backwards

  • Laurels and limitations

DJ moving well, that’s a good sign.

  • Heilios

    Didn’t get it!

  • Heilios

    Short baby!

  • Heilios

    Go for it hill

  • Heilios

    Damn

    • Laurels and limitations

      phew, saved by the whistle.

  • Heilios

Sweet! Holding. Thank you baby Jesus

  • Laurels and limitations

it was only a matter of time before teams started playing the fact that Hill likes to run a 9 route on his returns.

  • Heilios

    Try again hill

  • Heilios

    Hill!

  • Heilios

    So close

  • Laurels and limitations

We could have used that return to go for 6.

  • Merlin

this is a ground and pound game for the Chiefs

    • mnelson52

      Wear their D down

      • Merlin

you mean Ware their D down, right?

        • Laurels and limitations

          badabing!

  • Laurels and limitations

Hehe, it’s bad, but I expect nothing out of the offense tonight, prove me wrong guys, prove me wrong.

  • Heilios

Ok Alex show them what you’re made of

  • Heilios

    I can’t stand AlbertWilson

    • Heilios

      And Harris

  • Chiefs-Kings-A’s

Our OL is no match for that

  • mnelson52

Frigging Wilson is his go to guy again

    • Laurels and limitations

you mean the pass that was at his feet? It was never meant to be caught.

      • mnelson52

Yep. I like our chances better throwing at somebody else feet

        • Chiefs-Kings-A’s

          LMAO

  • Laurels and limitations

3 and 6, and we throw a 3 yard pass, Smith wasn’t pressured like that dumbass Collinsworth is saying, Ward was picked up, that was just Smith taking the dump pass again.

    • Heilios

He was ringed in and couldn’t step into a throw. Not saying it wasn’t a stupid call on 6 to go but hardly his fault with no pocket. That said horrible play call and Wilson sucks

      • JimHarbaughsguys

Why is Wilson playing when Hill, DAT and Conley are younger and can do much more?

        • Heilios

          Exactly

      • Laurels and limitations

The throw was at Wilson’s feet with a defender on him already. Wilson is no Jerry Rice, but that throw didn’t do him any favors either.

    • Chiefs-Kings-A’s

      ?
That pocket collapsed like a poorly built house of cards

      • Laurels and limitations

pocket was there, enough of one anyway. No, smith didn’t have 5 seconds but I’m not sure he even took the time to look past the first down marker.

  • Heilios

Sorenson will show up big today. Bank on it

    • Laurels and limitations

I do every week, love me some Dirty Dan.

  • Heilios

  • Heilios

    Houston!

  • Heilios

Come out swinging guys. Run it down their throats!

  • berttheclock

Great field position. Time for a jet sweep to Albert Wilson, well more of a slow boat to China sweep, but……………

  • KCMikeG

Reid needs to use Hill & DAT in the run game

  • Merlin

    Kelce has to catch that

    • KCMikeG

      Drops one every week

  • Heilios

    Dropsies. Hopefully not a trend

  • Heilios

Talib is a dirty player. Can’t stand him

    • Merlin

you could say that about most of their defense.

      • Heilios

        Talib especially

        • Merlin

          Plus Miller and Ward

          • Heilios

            Ward is awful. Miller too

    • Chiefs-Kings-A’s

Dirtiest I have ever seen in all my years of watching football

      • Heilios

  • Laurels and limitations

  • Heilios

    Ware!

  • Heilios

  • Laurels and limitations

  • mnelson52

    • Laurels and limitations

I did too, teams get away with that stuff every play, completely ticky-tack…but it WAS against the rules.

  • KCMikeG

Kelce needs to STEP THE HELL UP!!

  • Heilios

Quit throwing to Wilson. Stop it! Bad Smith. Bad!

  • Chiefly Bacon

If Albert Wilson is still on this team next weak, Reid is certifiable. The guy is a walking train wreck and what the @#$% happened to Kelcie?

  • Frank Leggio

What the heck is wrong with Kelce’s hands?

  • Laurels and limitations

why does Kc even attempt 3rd and whatever? they might as well punt on 3rd down and save the clock for a two minute offense later on the game.

    • Frank Leggio

      Good idea.

  • berttheclock

Get rid of the worthless Albert Wilson!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

    • Heilios

Maybe we should fly a plane over arrowhead with that on a banner?

      • berttheclock

I am beginning to believe neither Reid nor Chilly can read.

    • tm1946

Been target more than anyone else.

    • Frank Leggio

And why is AS11 throwing to him?

      • tm1946

Supposedly Childress like to pick out receiver…. unless he is not calling plays

      • berttheclock

I believe Chilly has told Alex to throw to him. Chilly was notorious in Minnesota doing such.

    • ladner morse

      PLEASE!!!!!!

  • KCMikeG

that was a sure three pissed away by Kelce & Wilson

  • mnelson52

So far they are stopping themselves with penalties and dropped passes

  • ladner morse

    ridiculous!

    • berttheclock

      The Bard awaketh.

      • ladner morse

        Just got back in.

  • Laurels and limitations

Chiefs and Broncos have combined for 32 yards of total offense on first four drives of game.— Vahe Gregorian (@vgregorian) November 28, 2016

  • Frank Leggio

Getting a turnover would be good about now. Take the crowd out a bit more.

  • mnelson52

They have to stop these penalties.

  • ladner morse

    Where is Peters the coach!

  • Chiefly Bacon

Chiefs offense is a complete and utter disaster. I can’t even blame Smith. I think someone mixed the can of stick em up with a can of WD 40.

    • Frank Leggio

Funny. They are getting hit in the hands and dropping them. Except Hill. Maybe the hand warmers aren’t working. Hill doesn’t need them with his speed. His whole body probably oscillates like The Flash.

    • tm1946

Early game jitters, time to settle down and go to work. Happens a lot the first qtr of games at every level.

  • Heilios

I don’t line Sanders. The way he screwed is ruined him for me

    • tm1946

Just a case of leverage, was never coming here

  • Heilios

    Berry punished him

    • ladner morse

Going to have to be the defense to set the tone here.

    • mnelson52

It looked like it hurt Berry a little also

  • Frank Leggio

OMG, Berry hurt that dude. His head was down and Eric Berry’d him. Hope he is OK.

  • Heilios

I hope he isn’t hurt but i hope berry hit him hard enough he will rethink running the ball on us

    • ladner morse

I’m hoping he is the balance we need when Peters returns.

  • Heilios

    Good stop!

  • Laurels and limitations

    Nacho came to play, again.

  • Chiefly Bacon

Hmm final score a tie 0-0?

  • Heilios

    Awesome noches!

    • ladner morse

      Awesome NACHOS? hehe

  • mnelson52

    88 yds away hmmm

  • Frank Leggio

One of the best things about having new guys in is that they are hungry. They want to show their stuff.

  • Heilios

Ok third times a charm! Punch it in for a TD!

  • berttheclock

The Chiefs’ players call him Nacho. He over powered Max Garcia. I wanted Garcia for the Chiefs. Normally, he is a very good run blocker as noted by Tirico. But, Nacho is becoming a force.

  • Heilios

Ware is great! I wish West was three great counter punch.

    • Merlin

Not sure what is going on with West this year. He doesn’t look like the same player

      • Heilios

He’s my favorite between him and ware but ware is producing. Gotta go with the hot hand

  • Chiefly Bacon

Albert Wilson is a RB playing WR. That last pass showed it well.

    • Heilios

      Too small for a rb

      • Chiefly Bacon

Exactly the same size as Charcandrick West.

    • tm1946

He had to jump to catch it, killed forward progress

  • Heilios

    Another good run by ware

  • Frank Leggio

I may give up and just start rooting for AW.

      • Laurels and limitations

        yup

  • Frank Leggio

    3rd and 1? Bubble screen?

    • ladner morse

      Spencer WHERE… that’s Ware!

    • JimHarbaughsguys

I’m glad that Reid didn’t get cute with a pass, or a toss that is 5 yards behind the LOS there

  • Frank Leggio

Blown play. Had to improvise and hand it off. We got lucky there. The BS probably would have been a TD.

  • Chiefs-Kings-A’s

    Conley is playing right?

    • Laurels and limitations

we’re not sure yet, and that was a dumb play call right there.

      • Chiefs-Kings-A’s

Lol, yeah I was being sarcastic, why are we not using him?

        • Laurels and limitations

he runs past the first down marker, that is anathema to the Reid offense.

    • Frank Leggio

He is lined up at the decoy receiver position. Pulling all the attention from AW.

      • Chiefs-Kings-A’s

        Lol

  • Chiefly Bacon

I now we shoot ourselves in the foot again. That sounds about right.

  • ladner morse

Having a nice drive then Reid has to get tricky and cute!

  • tm1946

Not a lot of love for OL

  • ladner morse

Well that took a century to set up.

  • Heilios

    Jet sweep coming up!

    • Laurels and limitations

      MOOOOOOOAAAAARRRRR JET SWEEEEEEEEEEEEP!!!!!!!!!!

      • Heilios

I can’t like this more than once!

  • Chiefly Bacon

Andy Reid: We look forward to the challenge of trying to get a 1st with 20 yards to go.

    • Laurels and limitations

      lol.

  • ladner morse

3rd and 17 because Reid gets cute on 1st down.

    • JimHarbaughsguys

That does get a tad annoying

    • Merlin

I don’t mind that call at all. Chiefs need to use some trickery and hit a big play to win.

      • Laurels and limitations

as close as it was to being a pick six, I do. 2-3 inches lower and the only thing in-between that CB and the endzone was white paint.

      • ladner morse

Yes…. IF…. they go long with it… not into the flat where they have also sent a lineman early.

  • Chiefs-Kings-A’s

Well damn…..Denvers defense is waking up

    • Laurels and limitations

well crap, cuz’ KC’s offense is putting me to sleep.

  • ladner morse

    WHAT the H was that??????????

    • mnelson52

Hasn’t every 3rd down pass gone to Wilson. He is least likely to make a contested catch.

  • Chiefly Bacon

Hey we’re running the ball, it’s working! Quick, do something else!

  • Heilios

3rd and16 throw a twoyard pass! Seriously Reid?

  • Frank Leggio

A pump fake and then to Conley would have been nice on the pass to the TE.

  • tm1946

Pure west coast pass 2 yards and run…..no where.

  • KCMikeG

Passes are allowed to go forward right??

    • Heilios

      No.

    • tm1946

Last complete pass was 2 yards forward.

    • Frank Leggio

      Not in the air.

    • Laurels and limitations

I’m starting to wonder if Reid’s computer screen is locked 90 degrees counter clockwise.

  • berttheclock

Even Chris Collinsworth questioned what Reid was thinking on that 3rd and long play.

    • tm1946

Reid is HC he does not listen to others, Wilson and harris.

  • Chiefs-Kings-A’s

No way Andy ever calls a deep play on 3rd and 20 on Denvers defense……..I hate it, but it’s smart not to.

    • Chiefly Bacon

I agree with that call. Problems came before that

    • Frank Leggio

Not when you got that money TE sweep in the bag.

      • Laurels and limitations

        haha!!

    • JimHarbaughsguys

There is plenty of room between a 2 yard pass and a 20 yard pass. Why run a 2 yard route?

    • Laurels and limitations

sometime you have to stretch the field though, you have to keep them honest and right now KC is letting the defense sit on their routes.

  • Heilios

Late hit on berry by a lineman.

    • JimHarbaughsguys

Refs won’t care about that. Only if it was an offensive player, and in particularly, the QB.

  • Heilios

    Houston shut that down

  • ladner morse

    Now that’s a Corner Acker!

  • Heilios

    Great coverage Acker!

  • Laurels and limitations

Acker was ON that guy, nice play.

  • Laurels and limitations

    welp, Bibbs ain’t dead.

    • Heilios

He won’t run to berry again though. Lol

  • Laurels and limitations

I take back what I said earlier about Acker.

  • Merlin

  • Laurels and limitations

Do you think Houston is glad to be back?

  • Chiefs-Kings-A’s

    Imagine Houston and Ford….

    • Laurels and limitations

Shoot, Ford would move their plants to Mexico before Texas, you so silly.

      • Heilios

        Love it

      • Chiefs-Kings-A’s

LOL…no way, Trump wouldn’t let him

  • Heilios

  • ladner morse

    Tyreek time????

    • Heilios

      Hell yes!

    • Merlin

He was a whisker away from breaking a return. that’s 3 or 4 times this year at least.

  • Chiefly Bacon

Now. Don’t get cute, go heavy personnel and run it down their throats with the no huddle.

    • Merlin

then hit them with a play action, longer pass

      • Laurels and limitations

yup, 4 yards this time, lol.

    • tm1946

God, I like that. Any chance you got Reid’s phone #?

      • tm1946

        Apparently not.

  • Heilios

I want to see Sherman get in the mix. He’s a beast

    • Laurels and limitations

Sherman is still complaining to the refs about Evans making catches on him, so no dice man.

  • ladner morse

    I C A N ‘ T W A I T T O S E E T H E H O U S T O N & F O R D S H O W ! ! ! !

    • Chiefs-Kings-A’s

      You and me both!

  • mnelson52

Smith has too maNY of those

  • Chiefs-Kings-A’s

Alex needs to work on his arch

  • berttheclock

Yes, the Denver long snapper who held was the former KC Chiefs’ long snapper, Thomas Gafford.

  • Heilios

    Davis looks slow?

  • Chiefly Bacon

Pass on first down outside run on 2nd with Knile Davis. Man I hate this offense.

  • ladner morse

That’s a bunch of bull hockey drive.

  • Heilios

It’s a battle of the defenses

  • Laurels and limitations

Did either team bring tackles with them today?

  • berttheclock

DAT has become a heck of a gunner.

    • ladner morse

Yes… but is he ever going to scare anyone?

  • Chiefs-Kings-A’s

Ok Houston….sack Semen in the endzone for a safety……come on!!

    • berttheclock

      Shades of Derrick Thomas, eh?

      • Chiefs-Kings-A’s

        I hope so!

  • mnelson52

Usually when we pin a team deep, somehow we let them out for breathing room.

  • Heilios

    Good punt coverage

  • Chiefly Bacon

Chiefs need to get the safety here. Offense cannot score on their own.

    • Heilios

      Pick 6

  • berttheclock

    micah has returned for Denver.

    • Chiefs-Kings-A’s

      Lol

      Awesome!

  • Chiefs-Kings-A’s

    I called it!!!!!!

  • Heilios

    Houston!

    • JimHarbaughsguys

Can’t wait till Ford gets healthy again.

      • Heilios

        It will be sweet

      • larry mckinney

And Howard and Poe and Charles and….

  • berttheclock

YES!! They moved Houston to match up with Hali. Okung never could decide who to block.

  • tm1946

Now can start enjoying the hot wings.

  • ladner morse

Wouldn’t it be awesome to win 2-0???

    • Heilios

Looking like that is a possibility

    • mnelson52

      Has it ever happened

    • Chiefs-Kings-A’s

      Um…….well
      Yeah…….but

    • tm1946

Would take it but would suffer til the final second.

    • mnelson52

      So much for that

  • Heilios

Only thing better would have been a fumble recovery for a td

  • Heilios

    Hill!

  • Merlin

    Finally!!! Hill!!!!!!!!

  • Heilios

    High five on the way!

  • Chiefly Bacon

    YEAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAH!

  • Chiefs-Kings-A’s

    LOL!!

  • Tony Parker

    He’s Gone

  • Heilios

    I love the high five#

  • mnelson52

    Wow no penalties

  • ladner morse

    No one is sitting here!!!!!!!

  • berttheclock

    but, but, but, but…………………………

  • Tony Parker

Andy Reid + AS11 + Albert Wilson = they suck

    • tm1946

Pressure off, maybe they can get something going.

      • Tony Parker

Not holding my breath but here’s to hoping.

  • ladner morse

My voice is gonna go! It’s about to blow!!!!!!!!

  • Heilios

Ok so it was better to get the safety! Lol

  • tm1946

Just said- 9 – 0 and the offense never set foot on the field.

    • mnelson52

      Well someone has to score

  • Tony Parker

    Hill, finally…yes

  • Chiefs-Kings-A’s

    Alright defense…..don’t let up

  • Merlin

Defense needs to stop Denver fast. Don’t give them a chance to get right back in the game.

    • Heilios

      Yes. Very a stop

  • Heilios

    Gains had that ball

  • Heilios

    Challenge!

  • Heilios

    Berry smacked him

    • tm1946

      Thought it was taunting.

      • mnelson52

Only kc can’t waive a finger

  • Heilios

    Bullshit!

  • Heilios

    Houston out?

  • Chiefly Bacon

That should have been taunting though.

  • Merlin

finger wag. Didn’t Peters get flagged for that?

    • ladner morse

      Should have been taunting!

    • Heilios

      Yes

  • tm1946

    Houston went to locker room

  • Chiefs-Kings-A’s

    Come on Denver….turn it over!!

  • Heilios

    Short

  • Tony Parker

Berry should get a medal for that hit

  • Heilios

    Favorable spot for Denver

  • Heilios

    Another favorable spot

  • Chiefly Bacon

If Jones were just a hair faster he’d be eating soup from Seiman’s cranium right now.

    • tm1946

Rookie mistake, he was thinking – can’t let he run by me. Next time he will go for the kill.

  • mnelson52

Did anyone see what happened to Houston

    • tm1946

      Locker room

      • mnelson52

        I know that but why

  • KCMikeG

How the HELL did they just ignore the fumble? Refs to the rescue!!

  • Chiefs-Kings-A’s

I wonder if Alex gets embarrassed at all when we win games and his offense doesn’t score any TDs

    • ladner morse

Enough times and I’m sure he can read the writing on the wall.

  • Heilios

    Poe hurt too?

    • 1CrazyChief

Sounds like the Poedozer hurt his back again?

  • Heilios

    Great coverage gains

  • Heilios

    Gains almost had it

  • Heilios

    Berry could of had it!

  • Chiefs-Kings-A’s

    Helmet deflection!!
    They practiced that all week!

    • Merlin

just not the part where the Chiefs catch it and take it to the house.

      • Chiefs-Kings-A’s

True….I yelled INT!!! But, they didn’t here me–lol

  • KCMikeG

    Good stop!

  • Heilios

Is Winchester playing tonight? I hope he is ok.

  • ladner morse

Sounds like… 9-3 Royals over the Rockies

  • mnelson52

Any bets on which team makes the best halftime adjustments

  • Chiefly Bacon

Sutton is seriously underrated. What he has accomplished this year with a hodge podge of starters is darned impressive.

    • ladner morse

Sounds like a good topic for a piece.

      • Merlin

from him? more like a slab than a piece, just saying 😉

  • Heilios

    Ok offense do something

  • Chiefs-Kings-A’s

How huge would it be if we could score here and then get the ball again after the half

    • KCMikeG

HUGE! But now we have to make sure they don’t take the lead before half

  • Heilios

    Jet sweep!

  • Chiefs-Kings-A’s

Get rid of the damn ball Alex!!

  • Merlin

    Draw play next.

    • Heilios

      Nope jet sweep coming up

    • 1CrazyChief

I was thinking 10yd pass across the field for 2 yards

  • Heilios

    Come on West get going

  • ladner morse

A sack… the nReid gives up on scoring before half time by going to a delayed draw?

  • Chiefly Bacon

If Chiefs want points before the half they’re gonna have to get the defense back on the field.

  • Chiefs-Kings-A’s
  • Heilios

    Jesus. Throw the damn ball

  • mnelson52

Instead of trying to score they’re trying to run out clock. Denver was calling Time OUT to get the ball and try to score

  • Heilios

    Block in the back

    • Chiefs-Kings-A’s

      I saw that too

  • ladner morse

Here’s how the halftime conversation goes… Houston to offense: “wake up you bunch of schoolboys!”

    • Chiefs-Kings-A’s

I wish somebody would talk to them that way

      • mnelson52

        The soft way isn’t working

        • Chiefs-Kings-A’s

I honestly do think sometimes Andy might be a coddle type coach

  • 1CrazyChief

    Berry came to play

    • Heilios

      Hell yes. DJ too

  • Heilios

    Berry is spanking people today

  • Chiefly Bacon

Chiefs D has murder in their eyes.

    • Merlin

Reid said it, Denver is a bully and you have to out bully a bully

      • ladner morse

D is doing their part. Waiting for he O to wake up.

        • mnelson52

          I’ve been waiting all year

      • mnelson52

        Yes but on both sides

      • Chiefs-Kings-A’s

He was really quoted as saying that?

        • Merlin

Not those exact words, but that idea

  • Heilios

    4th down

    • 1CrazyChief

      Good D stop

  • Heilios

Ok Hill we need another score. The offense isn’t going to do it

  • JimHarbaughsguys

What happens to the Denver punter if the ball goes anywhere near Hill?

    • Heilios

He gets cut at the half

      • JimHarbaughsguys

Plays like his TD return are just all the more reasoning why he should be on the field instead of Wilson whenever possible.

        • Heilios

Yes but Reid has a crush on Wilson and Harris.

  • Chiefs-Kings-A’s

Collinsworth is laughing at the Kansas City offense

    • 1CrazyChief

      Cuck you Follinsworth

      • Heilios

        He is a tool

      • KCMikeG

        I second the motion!

      • ladner morse

        I mecond the sotion.

    • mnelson52

      I would too if I wasn’t a Chief fan

    • Chiefly Bacon

In his defense, we would be too if we weren’t too busy wailing and gnashing our teeth.

  • berttheclock

Fifty yards of total offense for the Chiefs. What a juggernaut!

    • ladner morse

      A Jugger-NOT!

    • Chiefs-Kings-A’s

Our OL can’t create any gaps for our RBs against this D……that leaves Alex and Wilson

      • Tony Parker

        Noooooooooo

        • Chiefs-Kings-A’s

I agree, but apparently whoever is calling the offensive plays thinks they are the answer

      • mnelson52

That’s why we have 50 yds of offense. Then again we are the only team that can’t run on them

  • Heilios

God I love the high five!

  • mnelson52

How many still think we have a good O-line?

    • Merlin

It’s not bad. That’s an excellent pass rush they are going against.

      • larry mckinney

Yep. And the donkies are completely healthy and rested. I give the OL a good grade.

    • Chiefs-Kings-A’s

I think they are finally formidable, but I don’t think any of them are going to the pro bowl anytime soon

    • mnelson52

I don’t think they are good, just not really bad

    • Tony Parker

      It’s mediocre at best

    • 1CrazyChief

I think they did a better job protecting Smith against Tampa than the Seattle line protected Wilson today…

      • berttheclock

Yes, Seattle gave up six sacks and Wilson had to do most of the running for the Seahawks.

  • Heilios

    Kc spanked Oakland at home.

    • JimHarbaughsguys

What has happened to Tampa Bay?
They beat KC, then go and beat Seattle.
Maybe they aren’t too bad afterall.

      • larry mckinney

Maybe they beat donkies in TB in two weeks!

        • mnelson52

          Would love that

      • berttheclock

Their defense beat Seattle. Winston almost gave the game back to Seattle with a very stupid ego throw late in the 4th quarter. It was similar to the one he threw against the Chiefs when Berry had his Pick Six.

  • berttheclock

I know the temp in Denver is around forty with a wind chill dropping it to just over 30 degrees, but, Wade Phillips, the DC of the Broncos could conduct his defense from a lounge chair. In fact, he might be better off just going inside and letting the defense act on their own.

  • Heilios

    Houston > Miller

  • 1CrazyChief

Would have loved Reek to have time for his patented spin move there

  • Heilios

    Jeez do something guys

    • 1CrazyChief

Way to take advantage of that coin toss

  • Heilios

3 and 11 why not throw it underneath. Dumb as hell

    • 1CrazyChief

We get the ball to the best players on the team and let them make a play ———– oh, that’s Colquitt

  • ladner morse

Of course… on third down, throw to Harris!

    • Merlin

Yes, Harris and Wilson. your prime 3rd down targets! lol

  • Heilios

    Alexander showed up today

  • mnelson52

After that drive, do we have a total of 45 yds?

  • berttheclock

Even if Alex Smith could connect on his 3rd and long passes, the catcher would be far short of the first down. Collinworth even said with 3rd and long the Broncos were set up to stop the Chiefs about 7 yards down field as they know the Chiefs are not going to try to pass any longer than that.

    • 1CrazyChief

Smith’s release must be so slow that the line can only count on getting the WR time to get 3 yards

    • tm1946

Says it all , thanks Reid for the offensive plan, execution is just about that bad.

  • Heilios

Ok d you are going to have to win this one again

  • Heilios

    DJ hurt?

    • berttheclock

      He has a sore achilles.

      • 1CrazyChief

Still doing impressive work though – that’s a painful injury to limp around on

  • berttheclock

Why is Andy Reid even looking at his play chart?

    • Heilios

He is actually reading goodnight moon. Good book

    • Merlin

      It’s a menu 😉

      • berttheclock

Hmmm, so, there is a Five Guys in Denver, eh?

  • Heilios

    Holding

  • berttheclock

Laddie, remember when you Mocked Booker?

  • Chiefly Bacon

    Holidng

  • larry mckinney

Sixteen will win it. But AS11 has to conjure up a TD. Or STs. Or the defense.

  • Chiefs-Kings-A’s

    Where was the flag??

    • Heilios

      Even the announcers saw it

      • Chiefs-Kings-A’s

We are like the Rodney Dangerfield of teams

        • Heilios

          No respect

          • 1CrazyChief

Well, there is that issue about earning some – which they will do with a win here

  • tm1946

The offense cannot produce, defense has done their part, special teams their part…..how can we succeed?

    • larry mckinney

Sounds like last year’s donkies. Have faith!

      • tm1946

        Score 10 – 9….. offense sucks as usual…..faith?

        • larry mckinney

          Yep.

  • KCMikeG

    HOLDING!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

    • Chiefs-Kings-A’s

On just about every play……if the Refs are not going to call it though, why not.

  • Heilios

    Damn

    • tm1946

Just a nice play. To bad our offense does nothing like that.

  • Chiefly Bacon

    Refs hate the Chiefs.

  • Heilios

    Houston blew that up

  • 1CrazyChief

    OHHHHHHH!!!!

  • Heilios

    Alexander!

    • KCMikeG

He would have done the same a few plays earlier if he hadn’t been tackled

  • Heilios

    Poor poor Bibbs

  • Merlin

Both teams are going to be in the whirlpool after this game

    • Chiefs-Kings-A’s

      Both defenses for sure

      • mnelson52

I think the O is taking the beating

        • Chiefs-Kings-A’s

          True

    • tm1946

Hope the broncos is 9 foot deep.

  • Heilios

    Hooks them guys

  • 1CrazyChief

    Time to shine Peters!

  • Heilios

    Short!

  • Heilios

    Short of the hash

  • 1CrazyChief

    Good home spot

  • mnelson52

    Need turnover

  • tm1946

    Hope Reid is taking notes.

    • 1CrazyChief

Exactly – learn to keep the foot on the gas

      • tm1946

Hell learn to get a first down.

  • Heilios

I think we could of won that Challenge

  • Chiefly Bacon

Refs screw us on the spot too.

  • Heilios

    Good coverage Gains

  • Chiefs-Kings-A’s

Wow Gaines is having a good night

    • Heilios

      Yes sir

  • Heilios

    Holding Houston

  • Heilios

How was that not a hold?

    • mnelson52

      It’s Broncos

  • mnelson52

But that’s probably game unless we get turnover in FG range

  • Chiefly Bacon

Andy Reid needs to get in the @#$% refs face and make him eat saliva. This is ridiculous.

  • 1CrazyChief

Denver’s motto – ‘Got away with it’

  • Chiefs-Kings-A’s

    That entire drive was BS

  • Merlin

Tough when the Chiefs stopped them on 4th down. It’s a game of inches and calls like that can decide a game

    • mnelson52

That was worth a challenge at this point

      • Merlin

I thought so, not sure if there was a clear angle for it though

  • Chiefly Bacon

Hate it when Chiefs would win fair and square, but get relentlessly screwed by the refs.

    • berttheclock

      A typical Pete Morelli crew.

  • KCMikeG

    HOLDING HOUSTON!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • Heilios

How many times have we heard tonight “got away with it”?

    • KCMikeG

      F’ING SICK OF IT!!!1111

  • Heilios

I wouldnt go pushing Sherman miller. He’s likely to rip your head off

  • Heilios

    Ok let’s go guys

  • Heilios

    Kelce!

  • Heilios

    Finally moving the chains

  • 1CrazyChief

God through and way to stand in there

    • 1CrazyChief

you know what I meant 😉

  • Heilios

    Ware! Great catch!

  • Chiefs-Kings-A’s

I like Kelce, but it’s a joke mentioning him in the same sentence as Gronk

    • Merlin

      It’s overstated, I agree

    • Heilios

No. Gronk is fragile. He’s made of glass. Kelce will surpass him if not only for that

  • tm1946

Reid do NOT go nuts and get cute

    • 1CrazyChief

      You mean like that?

      • tm1946

        Harris and Wilson blocking

        • Heilios

          Both awful

          • tm1946

Just sad how some coach loves those two.

  • KCMikeG

    SIDEWAYS = BACKWARDS!!!!!!!!

  • Merlin

    Wilson wiffed on his block

  • Chiefs-Kings-A’s

That does not work against this D!!

  • mnelson52

Man I hate that play. Throw forward

  • Chiefly Bacon

Helmet to helmet there but no flag for the Chiefs.

    • Heilios

Right. But good teams find ways to win regardless of officiating

      • 1CrazyChief

Yes – and if they do, they will earn some respect, and then maybe start getting some calls

  • Heilios

Damn guys. That second down play was crap

  • Heilios

    Santos!

  • ladner morse

Stalled out drives. I appreciate the FGs but the Chiefs need TDs.

    • ladner morse

      Stalled

  • Chiefs-Kings-A’s

They just put our 3 on Denvers score–lol
    They just can’t help it

    • mnelson52

      Saw that

  • Chiefly Bacon

As depressing as this fact is, that’s the best drive Chiefs have put together in a while.

    • Chiefs-Kings-A’s

      True, sad but true

    • berttheclock

Only one 3rd down pass which was thrown to the needed yard marker.

  • KCMikeG

OMG!! THEY ARE CHEATING SO BADLY THEY JUST PUT OUR 3 POINTS ON DONKEY’S SCORE!!!!!!!

  • berttheclock

Open note to both Reid and Chilly. Shove your bubble screens up your respective rear ends. Especially, with Albert Wilson leading the screen drawing Harris, Jr up to the LOS.

  • Chiefly Bacon

Bwahahah Broncos illegal formation. 1st down.

  • Heilios

    What?

    • tm1946

Lost their minds, even broncos can be nuts.

  • Chiefs-Kings-A’s

    Wow

  • Heilios

    Sweet! Get sooner points guys!

  • KCMikeG

    THAT WILL TEACH THEM CHEATERS!

  • Merlin

Ware was a former QB, btw

    • Chiefs-Kings-A’s

      I never knew that

  • Heilios

    Running the wildcat?

    • tm1946

How about an end around…. just for fun.

      • Heilios

        Jet sweep!

      • 1CrazyChief

Don’t even jinx us like that

  • Chiefly Bacon

Don’t get cute. Run it up the gut.

    • tm1946

Tell Reid, preaching to the fans.

  • mnelson52

    Need this 1st down

  • Heilios

Get 6 here. Make it count

  • Heilios

    Hill!

  • mnelson52

    TD HILL

  • Heilios

    Hell yes wildcat!

  • Chiefly Bacon

I said don’t get cute. Oh well, I’ll excuse it for the TD.

    • Heilios

      So cute.

    • mnelson52

      Ain’t that sweet

  • 1CrazyChief

    Reekster gets the corner!!!

  • Heilios

    Hill too fast for Miller

    • Merlin

I want to see Hill and Ted Ginn in a race. My money is on Hill

      • Heilios

I thought hill was the fastest guy in the league?

        • mnelson52

          At the 40 anyway

          • Heilios

Straight line i bet he’d win 100 yard dash

  • tm1946

AND Wilson made a hell ov a block.

  • Chiefly Bacon

Defense finally got some rest. Let’s lock this thing down.

  • berttheclock

To his credit and with all I have against his play, that was a great block on Talib by Albert Wilson.

    • Chiefs-Kings-A’s

I loved how Wilson let him know too–lol

      • berttheclock

        Chippy, but, terse.

    • Merlin

yes, credit where credit is due. Without Wilson making that block, Hill does not score

    • Heilios

Yes but a broken clock is right twice a day. He’s still awful

      • larry mckinney

        Naw, not today!

  • ladner morse

Kind of wondering why Reid didn’t go for two?

    • Chiefly Bacon

Cause Chiefs can’t score TDs without pulling rabbits out of a hat.

    • tm1946

Please he is thinking about tossing a flag, to many good blocks.

    • mnelson52

      Me too

  • KCMikeG

tHE JET SWEEP – WORKS! BARELY!!

    • larry mckinney

      For Six..

  • JimHarbaughsguys

A break that finally went KC’s way, and they took advantage of it.

    • larry mckinney

      Two unusual occurrences.

    • Chiefs-Kings-A’s

News break…this just in….HELL FREEZES OVER!

      • JimHarbaughsguys

Denver is close enough to Hell isn’t it?
        : )

      • berttheclock

        Didn’t the Eagles copyright that?

  • Heilios

    3 and out guys

  • mnelson52

    Need a stop

    • Merlin

Yes and go down and put more points on the board. make it more than a TD lead

      • mnelson52

        For sure

      • 1CrazyChief

Yep – keep the pressure on them, don’t get too conservative

        • berttheclock

Yes, plus, playing not to lose is the worst possible way to try to win a game.

    • larry mckinney

      A takeaway would be timely…

      • Heilios

        Peters is due.

  • Heilios

    MOAR JET SWEEPS!

  • Heilios

    Great coverage again Acker!

    • Merlin

      Dorsey strikes again

      • Heilios

Excellent depth. Dorsey knows what he’s doing.

    • 1CrazyChief

He’s been pretty solid – hope he gets some press

  • Heilios

    Almost blocked there

  • Heilios

    Damn

  • Chiefs-Kings-A’s

    Throw the damn ball Alex!!

  • Heilios

Smith getting hit too much. The oline needs to tighten up

  • 1CrazyChief

Nice job hanging onto the football on the sack – that could have been a disaster

  • mnelson52

Why take a sack? Throw it away

  • Heilios

Need a huge kick here Colquitt. Save us.

  • Heilios

    We got it!

  • Heilios

    Hahahaha!

  • Chiefs-Kings-A’s

    Yeeeeeeess!!!

  • Heilios

    Winchester!

  • Chiefly Bacon

    Heck yeah!

  • 1CrazyChief

    WIIINNNCCCHESTERRRRRR!

  • Heilios

    That’s awesome

  • mnelson52

    Just WOW

  • Heilios

    Toub needs a raise Hunt!

  • Chiefly Bacon

Ug and now we get called for a hold.

  • Merlin

Chiefs keep shooting themselves in the foot with penalties

  • ladner morse

Funny… now I’m just praying for a FG.

    • Chiefs-Kings-A’s

      LOL

    • tm1946

Nice slow grind it out drive, also

    • 1CrazyChief

I’m just hoping for 1st downs!

  • Chiefs-Kings-A’s

Funny how we get held on every damn play and the refs don’t see it, yet they never miss anything against us

  • Heilios

I was just about to bitch about the dump off and ware goes off!

  • Chiefs-Kings-A’s

    Would somebody please stop Miller

    • JimHarbaughsguys

Spit in his eye Romonowski style.

  • mnelson52

    Just pitiful

  • Heilios

Need to tighten up the oline. Just awful

  • Chiefly Bacon

If Chief had half as many yards as busted plays they’d be in a lot better shape.

  • Heilios

    107 decibels. Pussies

    • Chiefs-Kings-A’s

LOL…I was just saying the same thing to my wife

      • Heilios

I get 107 decibels in my front room.

    • ladner morse

The Denver Kitties… I like it.

  • ladner morse

Winchester recovers the ball at the 41… and the O gets all of 3 yards.

  • Heilios

    Another muffed punt

  • Merlin

The Chiefs production, Hill, Houston and muffed punts

    • tm1946

      Take what we can get.

  • Chiefly Bacon

Trouble is Chiefs have big plays, they’re just immediately followed or preceded by huge penalties.

    • mnelson52

      Seems so

  • mnelson52

    C’mon defense

  • berttheclock

Does Andy Reid and Chiily truly believe they have five downs to make a 1st down? They must because they keep trying to throw much shorter on 3rd and long than at or beyond the 1st down marker. Except for that one throw to Kelcie, all of them have been five to six yards too short.

    • JimHarbaughsguys

Maybe they are thinking the Denver pass rush will get to them if they call any deeper pass plays. Judging by the results on this night, they might be right about that.

  • Chiefs-Kings-A’s

We did not score there, but the bright side is they have their ball now on the 10 not on the 50 as before

  • tm1946

Commercial, Toyota – still have roller ball?

  • Heilios

    Houston again

  • Heilios

    Holding Houston again

  • Heilios

    Holding again

  • Chiefly Bacon

If they don’t call the hold here, I’m gonna be pissed.

    • 1CrazyChief

Got away with one – two – three…

  • Heilios

    Bullshit. Bullshit

  • Heilios

    Almost ripped Houston’s helmet off

  • mnelson52

I said before the game started, we would have to hold Denver to ten to win. Im hoping I’m now wrong. We should have gone for 2 earlier.

    • tm1946

Could this offense get the necessary yards, not so sure.

      • berttheclock

You take the shot. Getting one was meaningless.

  • Chiefs-Kings-A’s

I know it’s sour grapes, but if we lose this game tonight, the fact we have got jobbed by the refs several times played a part

    • Chiefly Bacon

      Officiating is straight garbage.

  • Brandon Chester

    Phillip Gaines sucks.

  • Heilios

I know good teams win no matter what but seriously? How many holds do they get away with?

    • JimHarbaughsguys

That was complete BS on that 3rd down TD pass. “He get’s around Houston” yeah. After Houston was held from getting another sack.

  • berttheclock

Pete Morelli has one of the lowest rated crews in the NFL and for very good reason.

    • Chiefly Bacon

Because he’s a whore for money? Or just a blind guy?

  • Heilios

At least Talib isn’t trying to poke eyes out again

    • mnelson52

      Maybe not caught

  • Heilios

Hit Kelce in the damn hands

    • JimHarbaughsguys

Maybe Alex needs to throw to Kelce’s feet for him to make the catch.

      • Chiefly Bacon

Or his mouth. It’s pretty big.

  • 1CrazyChief

What’s up with Kelce’s hands this year?!?

  • 1CrazyChief

That play had no shot even if he caught it

  • tm1946

Was that a one yard attempt?

    • 1CrazyChief

I wonder if Reid knows we are behind by a point, not ahead?

  • Brandon Chester

Fire Smith!!!!! Check down check down check down

    • berttheclock

Rod Streater caught 4 passes for 46 yards with the longest being one of 26 for the Niners today. His salary would not have affected KC adversely!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

      • Heilios

They sound have kept streater. But how would they know jmac would be injured?

      • 1CrazyChief

If Streater was out there the ball would still go to Wilson

      • Brandon Chester

You don’t know that. To assume he’d produce the same as he would here isn’t exactly accurate. Our WR core could of relied on him more then the 49ers.

        Plus injuries.

  • Heilios

We have to make this happen. We need this win

  • Chiefs-Kings-A’s

Trade our entire offense for a stick of gum

  • mnelson52

    Need another safety

  • KCMikeG

    FINALLY!!

  • berttheclock

Tomorrow, Pete Morelli will go back to Stockton, California and take his position as President of St Mary’s High School.

    • Chiefs-Kings-A’s

I hate St. Mary’s…… all of the public schools in the area cannot recruit, yet they can because they are a private school yet they all compete against each other. Unfair.

  • Heilios

    Anyone else for resigning Bowe?

    • JimHarbaughsguys

Won’t go there. He who could not make that easy catch in the Indy playoff game to get KC into FG range on 4th down.

  • Heilios

    Hali hurt now

    • tm1946

Been playing hurt since last year, all he does is play in games. Never practices any more

  • Heilios

    Need a safety

  • Heilios

    Nachos!

  • mnelson52

    Grrrr

  • Heilios

    Holding Houston again!

  • Chiefly Bacon

    They held 98!

  • Merlin

    holding in the end zone

  • Heilios

    Nachos again

  • mnelson52

We’re down to one time out

  • Heilios

Should have been a safety. Holding again

    • KCMikeG

BLANTANT HOLDING IN THE END ZONE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • Heilios

Can officials be fined for missing too many calls?

  • Heilios

    Man need to hit him!

    • Chiefly Bacon

The ref? Seems extreme, but I’ll allow it.

  • mnelson52

    Holding again

  • JimHarbaughsguys

Can’t give up 14 like that

  • Heilios

I’m getting pissed about these Damn holds

  • Heilios

    Fucking gains!

  • Heilios

    Gains just stopped!

    • JimHarbaughsguys

      Well, that sucks

  • Heilios

    Jesus Christ

  • Brandon Chester

I’ve said this all year. Gaines is not a good CB.

  • mnelson52

    Game

  • Chiefly Bacon

WHAT THE HELL WERE YOU DOING GAINES!!!!

    • Brandon Chester

What he’s been doing all year.

  • mnelson52

From what I’ve seen, Siemian is better than Smith

  • Heilios

Just wow. Gains just stopped. Didn’t try to cover his guy.

  • Heilios

    God damn people! Block!

  • Brandon Chester

Gaines has been targeted 8 times. Allowed 6 catches for 200+ yards and 2 TD. Last week he was targeted 6 times. Allowed all 6 catches.

  • Heilios

    Conely is playing today!

    • mnelson52

      You wouldn’t think

  • mnelson52

    Bad spot

  • Heilios

    Horrible spot

  • berttheclock

With apologies to Don Meredith, but, “Turn out the lights, the season of the Chiefs is over!”

    Onward to the next draft.

  • Heilios

Gains was playing so well. Giving up on plays is unacceptable

  • Heilios

Smith needs to pull this out

  • Heilios

    Finally a call

  • Heilios

    Not much my ass Collinsworth

  • mnelson52

    Should have let play go

  • Heilios

    Why did hill fall down?

    • 1CrazyChief

      Ran past his feet

    • JimHarbaughsguys

Not the time to do it though.

  • Heilios

Kelce needs to ditch the drops

  • Heilios

    Conely!

  • Heilios

Damn that would have been it

  • Heilios

    Too far out Smith

  • Chiefly Bacon

We finally throw a fade to the end zone to the guy who’s 5’10”

  • ladner morse

Why is Wilson even on the field?

    • Heilios

      Because Reid

    • JimHarbaughsguys

Maybe he will run into a defender by accident

  • Heilios

    Harris held him

  • Chiefly Bacon

    THROWING TO WILSON AGAIN!

  • Heilios

    Hill!

  • Heilios

    My heart!

    • JimHarbaughsguys

      They scored?

  • Heilios

    He scored!

  • Heilios

    Hill!

  • Heilios

    That’s a score!

    • JimHarbaughsguys

      Will they go for two?

      • Heilios

        They better

        • JimHarbaughsguys

Shoot. I thought they were only down 7.

  • Chiefly Bacon

refs almost just screwed us again.

  • Chiefly Bacon

How do you not call that a TD with the game on the line which would lead to an auto review

  • Heilios

TD Kansas City! That’s a score!

  • Heilios

    Hill!

  • Chiefly Bacon

Oh my goodness they actually got it right!

  • Heilios

    Get twopoints guys!

  • Heilios

    No jet sweep. Shut up_

  • Heilios

    Two points good!

  • Chiefly Bacon

Demetrius Harris catches the two point! You can’t make this stuff up.

  • Heilios

    They got it!

    • 1CrazyChief

And that, no matter what happens next, is how you earn some respect

      • Heilios

        Yes sir!

  • tm1946

Who would have thunk it? First catch in 3 games.

  • Heilios

    Jesus! My heart is failing

    • JimHarbaughsguys

      Holy shit!
Alex saved the KC D on that drive. Now KC’s D needs to get back to what they do best and allow Alex another shot at it come OT

      • 1CrazyChief

Gaines needs to keep the receiver from blowing by him again

        • JimHarbaughsguys

I think somebody said something about Houston going to make a big play. I think that is what is going to happen.

  • Heilios

I can’t believe we orchestrated that drive. Now finish it out guys! Win this thing!

  • ladner morse

How many times have the Chiefs offense driven the ball down the field and scored this season. Not very many.

  • Merlin

    Just a crazy game.

  • Heilios

Ok Houston get a strip sack for a td

  • Brandon Chester

I love my team. Just like the Royal’s. Never down and out.

  • Heilios

Overtime. Come out swinging and drive down for a TD

  • Merlin

Houston was held in check in the second half. Exactly, HELD in check

    • Chiefly Bacon

      Great minds

      • Merlin

Yes, though I have faster fingers 😉

  • Chiefly Bacon

Announcer’s talking “Houston held in check” Yeah HELD is right.

  • Heilios

    Win the toss!

    • 1CrazyChief

      I call Jinx!

      • Heilios

        Sorry

  • Heilios

    Pick 6 first play Peters.

    • 1CrazyChief

      I call Jinx?

      • Heilios

        Need to happen

        • 1CrazyChief

Yep – that’s what I meant, that you said it – so it would happen 🙂

  • Chiefly Bacon

Honestly it could be good that we lost the toss. All we have to do is stop them and score the field goal. The way this game has gone that’s a heck of a lot easier than scoring on your first drive.

  • Heilios

    AlrightHouston, go get them

  • Heilios

Why is gains still out there?

  • Heilios

    Get a sack now!

  • Heilios

    Stop them

  • Heilios

    I like ramik Wilson

  • Heilios

    Good play reyes

  • mnelson52

    Oops

  • Heilios

    Jesus stop them guys

    • ladner morse

That’s who I think it will take.

  • Chiefly Bacon

Ug. I think we might be done.

    • mnelson52

      That should do it

      • larry mckinney

        Faith. Remember?

  • Heilios

    Time for a turnover

  • Heilios

    Shit

  • Chiefly Bacon

Well that’s the story of the games. Refs screw us.

  • Heilios

    I didn’t see interference

    • mnelson52

Me either except offense pushing off

  • Heilios

    Houston

    • Chiefs-Kings-A’s

He got screwed out of the sack because semen got past the line of scrimmage

  • Chiefly Bacon

Imagine what Chiefs could be like if they were just healthy. We’ve got 3rd string and worse gusy starting right now.

    • 1CrazyChief

Yep – Collinsworth, to his credit, did give them some props

  • Heilios

    Sack!

  • Heilios

    Tamba!

  • Heilios

    Now block the fieldgoal

  • Chiefs-Kings-A’s

    Alright Alex……earn your paycheck here

  • Heilios

    Need 6 on this drive

  • Merlin

A hell of a game. Chiefs competing hard.

  • mnelson52

They kick too deep for a kickoff return

    • Heilios

How crazy would it be to see hill take it to the house

  • Heilios

    Good run thomas

    • ladner morse

      Go DAT!!!!!

  • ladner morse

What are the chances that the Chiefs score a TD on two straight drives?

    • Heilios

      Astronomical

    • mnelson52

      Slim but hoping

  • ladner morse

OL has not been good tonight.

    • JimHarbaughsguys

Going to be hard to get things going with the OL sucking.

  • Chiefly Bacon

We have TWO starters, from the beginning of the year, on defense who are 100%. Seven are out this game and two are playing hurt.

  • 1CrazyChief

    I miss Jamaal

    • Heilios

      Me too

    • Chiefs-Kings-A’s

      Yeah

    • mnelson52

      Yep

  • Heilios

Man if Dat made the kicker miss

  • Heilios

Smith is finally throwing to Hill

  • Heilios

    Kelce!

  • Chiefs-Kings-A’s

Why doesn’t our offense always play like this?

    • Heilios

      Because Reid

    • JimHarbaughsguys

Just wondering how the OL has looked the past 2 drives vs the rest of the game?

  • Heilios

    Nice run ware

  • mnelson52

    No turnovers please

    • Chiefs-Kings-A’s

When Davis touch the ball, I puckered up

  • Heilios

    First down West

  • Chiefly Bacon

This is what we thought the offense would be all year.

  • Heilios

Why Davis? You have Conely, West, ware, hill, and Kelce

    • JimHarbaughsguys

Especially with them getting into a groove now.

  • Heilios

We need 6 guys, No matter what happens we at least played a good game

    • 1CrazyChief

Agreed – no primetime egg on our face for this one

  • mnelson52

Go for win on this play, not set up for Fg

  • Heilios

    Pass interference!

    • JimHarbaughsguys

      in the endzone?

      • Heilios

        No at the10. No flag

    • mnelson52

      I thought so

  • Heilios

    Santos!

  • Heilios

This could be a tie guys

  • Chiefly Bacon

    Oh dear. My nightmare continues.

  • Merlin

I am glad my heart is ok. This game is stressful

    • Heilios

      Don’t die on us!

    • Chiefs-Kings-A’s

      Hahaha—yep

  • Chiefs-Kings-A’s

Where is Peters when you need him

  • mnelson52

If we ever needed a turnover, it’s now

    • Heilios

      Peters is due

    • Chiefs-Kings-A’s

I will take a three and out

  • Chiefly Bacon

Win or lose, Chiefs are clearly the better team. Denver is at home coming off a bye week. Chiefs are on the road in overtime at altitude with the majority of their defensive starters hurt.

    • 1CrazyChief

      Good points

      • Heilios

Very good points. Imagine Ford out there with Houston

      • Chiefs-Kings-A’s

Yep….cept, i’d rather be the better team with the W next to their name though

        • Chiefly Bacon

Just hedging my bets so I can sleep if this goes poorly 🙂

  • Merlin

    Houston strip sack would work

  • JimHarbaughsguys

Give the ball back to Alex guys!

  • mnelson52

    Ok. 6 and out

  • Heilios

    Gains redeeming himself there.

    • Chiefs-Kings-A’s

A pick six is the only way he will redeem i’m still in this game in my eyes, he got burned deep twice for TDs

  • Heilios

    Blitz again!

  • Heilios

    Send the house

  • Heilios

    Stop them

  • Heilios

Ok we have to hold them here. They are out of field goal range.

  • Heilios

    Fucking hell

  • Heilios

    Gains again

  • mnelson52

    Siemian carving us up

    • Chiefs-Kings-A’s

      Yep

      • mnelson52

Of coarse it helps when Broncos can push off for separation

        • 1CrazyChief

          Refs are cold

          • JimHarbaughsguys

To be fair, so is everybody else in the stadium.
            lol

  • Merlin

the playclock clicked to zero 1/2 second before the game clock. should have been a delay of game penalty

  • Heilios

    Interception guys

  • Heilios

    Need a turnover

  • Heilios

    Stop them now

  • Heilios

    Are they ging to punt?

    • Chiefs-Kings-A’s

      I hope so

    • JimHarbaughsguys

      4th and 10 at KC’s 44. I would.

    • JimHarbaughsguys

Will they punt it anywhere near Hill?

      • Heilios

        Hell no

  • Heilios

    Go for it and miss

  • Heilios

    No good!

  • Chiefly Bacon

Dang this is a good game.

    • Chiefs-Kings-A’s

Best game I’ve seen in 10 years

      • 1CrazyChief

Will watch this twice again tomorrow!

    • JimHarbaughsguys

I’m wasting away and I’m just here blogging and looking at nfl.com

  • Heilios

    Get down and kick it!

  • Heilios

Man im going to have a heart attack

  • mnelson52

    Great opportunity

  • Heilios

Should have thrown it smith. Free play

  • Heilios

    Good completion to Hill

    • JimHarbaughsguys

      Oh wow!

  • Chiefly Bacon

Just don’t screw up. Run it up the gut twice, take a timeout and a field goal.

  • JimHarbaughsguys

How good is Santos up here in Denver?

  • Heilios

Man we gotta get a few more yards and kick the field goal. Santos you got this!

  • Heilios

    Hell yeah kelce!

  • Merlin

    Kelce comes up big!

  • Heilios

    Ok santos get this done!

  • Chiefly Bacon

Just kick the field goal. Oh my heart.

  • JimHarbaughsguys

Dude. this will be awesome. Santos for the win!

  • Heilios

Just win this game! Finish it i cant stand it!

  • mnelson52

    What a game

  • Heilios

    Chiefs win!

  • Heilios

    Hell yeah!

  • Heilios

    Hit the damn upright!

    • JimHarbaughsguys

      Damn!!!

  • ladner morse

Was sure we’d win this game all along.

    • Heilios

      Me too!

    • ladner morse

I’ll let you know when I stop peeing my pants.

    • mnelson52

      Never a doubt

      • ladner morse

        LMAO!!!!!!

      • KCMikeG

Could have sworn you were calling for AS11 to be benched??

  • Chiefly Bacon

I am screaming at a loss for words.. How is that even possible?

  • Chiefs-Kings-A’s

Was there any other way to win this game but a bounce off the goal post? LMAO!!!

    • ladner morse

      Exactly!!!!!!!!

      • mnelson52

That’s the way i’d have played it

    • larry mckinney

Did you see the tweet from our kicker? He is holding his hands up in a victory pose while Colquitt has his head in hand, dejected, right after the kick. The tweet – “Bank shot, called it. Forgot to tell Colquitt.”

      • Chiefs-Kings-A’s

        I did see that!
        Too funny!

  • Merlin

Who needs CPR after that game? I think I do

    • Heilios

Send the ems to me when you’re done!

    • mnelson52

      Everyone

    • Chiefs-Kings-A’s

I’ve been on oxygen for the last quarter

  • Chiefly Bacon

Praise the lord I can sleep tonight.

    • JimHarbaughsguys

      Sure.

    • Merlin

I think it will be an hour or three before I can sleep

    • ladner morse

All join in now in the Hallelujah Chorus!

  • Heilios

This was a great game! Wow what a finish!

    • 1CrazyChief

      One of the best ever

      • ladner morse

Right. When we look back on this season… .this game will go down in history!

    • JimHarbaughsguys

      It was Montanaesque

      • mnelson52

        I wouldn’t go that far

  • Heilios

This game went on for over 4 hours!

  • larry mckinney

    Ho Hum. On to Atlanta!

    • ladner morse

      Love that!

      • larry mckinney

        W. H. A. T. A. G. A. M. E.

        • ladner morse

Great title for a Monday Morning Post!

          • 1CrazyChief

            Agreed – catchy!

          • larry mckinney

Take it. My early Xmas gift for you and the lads!

          • larry mckinney

I cut my cord some time back. Usually, to avoid loud bars, I wait until the game ends and then watch on the computer on NFL Gameday. Means I cannot join the game threads until much later, next day usually. But today I could not stay away and thus streamed Mitch Holtus’ radio signal while I joined in this thread. Great call. Sensational Team win. And now I can watch the game very, very happily! Don’t care to sleep!

  • Heilios

Toub needs a raise. Hill needs a bonus!

  • KCMikeG

I’m in the cardiac unit at Mercy hospital!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

    • ladner morse

      Where can we send flowers?

      • KCMikeG

        Heart Attack Fan
        1 HUGE WIN Drive
        Killing Cardiac, Misery

  • Heilios

Ok guys i have to be at work at 5. See you next time! GO CHIEFS!

    • 1CrazyChief

      Later!

      • ladner morse

        Go Chiefs!!!!

        Goodnight!

  • Chiefs-Kings-A’s

Which ever exec made the decision to move this game to prime time is looking like a genius about now

    • mnelson52

Yep. With all the injuries I didn’t expect to beat a healthy well rested Broncos team in Denver

  • Brandon Chester

Best game I have ever seen. That was nothing less then magical.

    • Chiefs-Kings-A’s

The last game I seen that exciting was also a Chiefs in Denver game back when Montana battled Elway

      • Chiefs-Kings-A’s

We also won that one with a last-second score

        • JimHarbaughsguys

After Denver had pulled off a last two second score of their own.

          • Chiefs-Kings-A’s

Yep….I will never forget that game

    • ladner morse

Did you used to write for this web site?

  • Chiefly Bacon

I’m out guys. I gotta sleep. Work in the morning. What a game.

    • ladner morse

      Nighty Night!

      Go Chiefs!!!!

We not only took an injury riddled team on the road to beat a healthy well rested Broncos team, we beat the refs helping them also.

Won it with a bank shot into the corner pocket

Didn’t watch live. Just finished the replay. Holy sh!+!!! Man, I hope Houston’s shoulder is okay and Ford comes back, because if this d has both of them going full tilt, damn. And how about Hali with the key bullrush OL sack. Dude’s still got a play or 2 left in him.

Hate to admit it, but, I bailed out after the long pass play by Denver with about 3 minutes to go. In fact, my last post said “Turn out the lights, the season is over”. Dang it all, I am sooooo happy I was wrong. Unbelievable finish and win. I really must reread “Keep the Faith”.

Don’t be shamed Bert. It really did look badly.
