ARROWHEADONE CHIEFS WEEK 9: GAME THREAD

Well, let’s get this party started. Teh Kansas City Chiefs are 79% chance winner over the hapless Jacksonville Jaguars today at Arrowhead Stadium. While I’m of the persausion that Andy Reid could take “players off the street” and win this game, the reality is that no NFL team can be taken for granted and you know the old adage… “On Any Given Sunday.” So, her Chiefs have business to take care of and that will include playing a hard, nose to the grindstone game. If they can do that, they should come away with a victory.

While back-up QB Nick Foles will be starting today’s game for the good guys, it marks only the third time Alex Smith will not be startign for the team since he arrived early in 2013. However, Foles is a QB tht Andy Reid drafted and is familiar with and more importantly, Foles is familiar with the Reid way of doing things, plus his playbook. Foles has put in a lot of study time becasye Andy Reid has “evolved” his blueprint for his scheme and with Foles all “up-to-date” we could see more of Reid’s playbook being actualized on the field.

The Chiefs WRs will be ready too. Chris Conley spoke recently about being thrown to from Nick Foles and has indicated that while every QBs ball is different in spin, timing and trajectory, that he’s stayed late after practice from the time he arrived in K.C following his being signed, so all the receivers are ready “A-GO” with Foles atteh controls.

I am predicitng that the Chiefs will score more than 40 points in this game and that the defense will keep the Jacksonville Jahuars under 20 points. You may be wondering why I don’t jsut go ahead and predict a specific score and the answer to that is mathematical becasue the higher anynumber bcomes the harder it is to predict. Well, that my excuse and I’m sticking with it. Besides, the Chiefs could score 50 points today… and then I’m covered. BTW.. I’ve been pretty close in my predicting the past two weeks.

So, Chiefs fans… what do you predict?
