Chiefs Give Fans Early Present(s)

You know you’re not supposed to open your Christmas gifts until Christmas day, right? Well, I know some families that open their presents on Christmas Eve, which is exactly what the Chiefs fans got to do yesterday afternoon, compliments of the Kansas City Chiefs when they manhandled the Miami Dolphins at Arrowhead Stadium, 29-to-13.

Santa filled his sack with many presents for K.C. Chiefs fans yesterday:

1) The win itself was enough but…

2) By winning the Chiefs also gave us the AFC West crown and,

3) A Playoff game at ArrowheadStadium and,

4) As Frank Leggio pointed out yesterday, the Chiefs tied a record of: being only the second team in NFL history with at least: A. a 1,000+ yards receiving WR [Tyreek Hill], a 1,000+ yards rusher [Kareem Hunt], a 1,000+ yards receiving TE [Travis Kelce], and a 4,000+ yards passer [Alex Smith]… plus…

5) Patrick Mahomes II will most likely start next week in Denver.

You could call this game the “Marcus Peter/Tight Ends Game.” The Chiefs three TEs had 11 catches for 116 yards while CB Marcus Peters was in on two forced fumbles. On the flip side, the Kansas City Chiefs are now first in the league when it comes to the number of games with zero turnovers, with 9. As they often say, win the turnover battle and you win the game.

Of course, Tyreek Hill went off again with 6 receptions for 109 yard receiving including a 52-yarder.

There’s plenty to talk about… like why Albert Wilson and Demetrius Harris still don’t know how to catch the ball when it hits them in the hands… or… why the Chiefs still run the ball in obvious running situations, e-v-e-r-y s-i-n-g-le t-i-m-e!? However, it is Christmas eve as I write this and I’d like to spend some time with my family (actually, I have a ton of presents to wrap, but don’t tell them)…. so, feel free to discuss away. Go Chiefs!

I have often said, “Your health is the greatest gift you can give to your family,” so… I’d like to wish you each a very healthy and Merry Christmas.
