With a deadline to get to franchise players coming on Wednesday the Chiefs are working with Eric Berry’s agent to make it happen. Adam Schefter said late today,

Getting Berry signed before free agency begins will help shape the decisions in the coming weeks and months. We’re keeping our fingers on the pulse… let’s hope there’s still life left in this deal.

We will probably never see an o line like the days of Roaf, Shields and Waters but I’ll settle for consistency with reasonably decent players at this point. The longer they play together the fewer blown assignments we’ll see. LDT made some big strides this year, his improvement should continue. Our starting linemen are now under contract for at least another three years and that’s something we haven’t seen in quite a while.

There would be a huge drop off in the D if Berry isn’t signed, imho. A big backwards step. I think if Dorsey gets it done it is another affirmation that the Chiefs brass want a Super Bowl now.

  • so the news is, Berry will retire a Chief. I have no official source on this but 6 years, 78M(unconfirmed through the rumor mill)
