I don’t see any surprises here. LB Jonathan Massaquoi had some good moments early in training camp. So did wide receivers Kashif Moore along with Seantavius Jones which may also show the depth of the Chiefs wide receiving corp this season. Two years ago and one of those two may have made the 53 man roster. Not this season.

You have to feel for these players — people — because for some of them, their dreams have taken a huge hit and they may never see another roster. Some may languish in the land of free agency for a long time and others could end up on a different roster. With the development of the Chiefs depth, it will be interesting to see how many of John Dorsey and Andy Reid’s cuts end up on other rosters.

How about you Chiefs fans? Any surprises here? Do you think any of these will ever go on to start for another team?

According to BJ Kissel we now have 81 total players. The Chief’s have to make 6 more cuts before tomorrow’s deadline.

Have any guesses who will be on that list?

      • Brandon Chester

Jimmy Staten, Shak Randolph, Reid Fragel, Trey Millard, Terrance Smith, Tyrell Adams, Mitch Matthew’s, Garrick Mayweather, Deveron Carr. Maybe someone within those 9. Maybe Dorsey is planning on cutting Flemming, Vereen, Johnson, or Cooper. I’m making that assumption since he traded for Ackers.

I think they guys that have been here awhile will be the last cuts made

          • mnelson52

            I think Flemming is gone

Massaquoi is the only one that slightly surprises me as KC is starving for pass rush, I mean, how bad was Massaquoi that he got kicked after the first draw down?

    • Brandon Chester

I don’t think it was so much to how bad, more along the lines of hey look at Dadi Nicolas. Chiefs could go into 2016 with 5 active OLB’s. Hali,Zombo, Ford, Moses, and Nicolas.

      • Laurels and limitations

if he had survived the first round of cuts I would be on board with that. KC is going into the season with more questions than answers at OLB, imho.

        • PaulfromnorthMO

That might be the one position Dorsey tries to snatch a player another team cuts.

          • Laurels and limitations

I think that might be inevitable at this point.

    • PaulfromnorthMO

I was going to say he drew the short straw, but what I have seen with our OLB’s there shouldn’t be anything but short straws.
Nicolas did look good against reserves, but it looks like he gets pushed around a lot. Zombo is still Zombo. Unfortunately Ford is still Ford. I don’t know the status on Moses injury, do you?

      • Laurels and limitations

No idea, I’m hoping that whatever it is Reid is just playing the cautious role with him and Moses will be ready for week one. Dadi shows some good aggression but Moses looks the best to me out of all the OLBs available right now. My stomach hurts, someone forgot to load the ammo in the Chief’s stapler-how, how in the same hell do you go from one of the best pass rush teams to zero pass rush in one offseason?

        • PaulfromnorthMO

Well, in the defense of our OLB’s, we haven’t seen Hali yet. He just might be back to 2013 form. I’m keeping OLB at the top of my draft list for next year. We’ve always known that we have been very weak after Houston and Hali.

Niko Davis will get snatched up, he’s simply a victim of quality depth in KC.

    • drwillez37

Davis is going to have a good career if he continues his progression for another team

  • Chiefly Bacon

Niko Davis and Seantavius Jones will probably find their way onto other teams rosters or practice squads. Chiefs would probably like to keep Davis, but he probably gets snatched up.

So who’s the players that’ll sting to lose…who’s out DAT Davis Flemming Cooper Sherman Hammond Reives??

    • drwillez37

      Does Wilson stay???

      • mnelson52

With Wilson still getting 1st team reps, I don’t see him leaving. Personally I think he should go. I believe he has maxed out at a level that’s not good enough. Need to start getting more reps for others that are better, and/or have higher potential.

        • drwillez37

I’m starting to think your right.. it seems like Wilson has shown us all he has and that’s not much I’d rather lose him then Robinson or even Hammond at this point cause he plays ST well
