2019 K.C. Chiefs:
Introductions Please
by Laddie Morse | April 28, 2019
The Kansas City Chiefs 2019 Draft Class had been decided. Some of them have already made their way to K.C. so, here’s the “drafted players” (or traded for) list…
Before introducing the UDFAs, let’s look and listen to Chiefs announcer Mitch Holthus introduce three new Chiefs:
Let’s not forget that Brett Veach made a trade two days before the draft began with Seattle for DE Frank Clark which essentially ended up being the Chiefs 1st pick in this draft:
Boy oh boy, the Chiefs know how to locate some of the fastest men on the planet… who aslo know how to play football. Here’s B.J. Kissel talking to Mecole Hardman who was taken with pick #56:
Next up is Safety extraordinaire Juan Thornhill who had 13 INTs in his 3 year college career. Once again, here’s B.J. Kissel talking to the Chiefs 63rd pick:
Mr. Backflip, DT Khalen Saunders brings more flexibility to the Chiefs defensive line. Saunders, a new father, also spoke with B.J. Kissel via Facetime:
With the 201st pick, the Chiefs took a CB in Rashad Fenton. Fenton can also return kicks which may be an important reason the Chiefs took him. Here’s some draft analysis and a grade on Fenton:
With the 214th pick the Chiefs took RB Darwin Thompson. Thompson is a tough guy for a 5-foot-8, 200 pound back. However, Thompson likes to run between the tackles and brings some pop. One reason may be his workout regimen. Here’s some information on that:
The Chiefs last pick was #216 and they selected an Offensive lineman named Nick Allegretti. Here’s a short video of Allegretti highlights on and off the field.
Here’s a list of the 22 Undrafted Free Agents the Chiefs have either signed or invited to training camp (not sure what the difference is):
22 UDFAs. Wow, I guess the Chiefs are starting another team altogether. Here’s B.J. Kissel after Day 2 of the draft if you missed it:
