Happy — DAY AFTER — Halloween!
Steve Spagnuolo is the only Defensive Coordinator in the History of the NFL to win four Super Bowl Rings. While you’re letting that sink in, consider that his defense is majorly responsible for the Kansas City Chiefs’ 7-and-0 start and they’re well on their way towards a three-peat. Once you’ve said that, you think you know Spagnuolo? Not on your life. One of the big reasons he’s so accomplished is that he keeps on keeping opposing offenses guessing. In the meantime, he’s one of the most caring coaches. Take a listen to this, from Kansas City Sports Commission, who says Spags is the Coach of the Year (3:57 – published in August):

Deflecting Attention
One of the traits of any great coach is that he will give the credit to his players. Here, Spags does exactly that, right after the most recent Super Bowl victory (0:45):
.
.
That was a happy, happy time for sure.

Swagger
Steve Spagnuolo talks about confidence and addresses the “Swagger” his players appear to have (0:26):

Goal Line Stand
Here’s Jesse Newell and Brett Taveau breakdown the goal line stand the Chiefs had against the Raiders. A play which evidently was the winning stop the Chiefs needed after Patrick Mahomes was intercepted (6:47):

The Master Class
The Goal Line Stand is an excellent way to tell how a defense is doing (2:00).

Extension
Many Kingdom fans are wanting to know how long we can expect Steve Spagnuolo to stay with the Chiefs? Well, Chiefs CEO, Clark Hunt didn’t waste any time re-signing Spags to an extension and within 48 hours of the Chiefs most recent Lombardi win, he was tied up with a new deal:
.
.
PFT came out with a piece the same day called, “Chiefs sign Steve Spagnuolo to a contract extension” in which they start out by saying:
.
“Steve Spagnuolo isn’t going anywhere.”
.
That should be music to the ears of all Kingdom fans as Steve Spagnuolo has helped K.C. to their last three Super Bowl victories. While the team and the coach have decided not to reveal the amount or length of the extension, many have speculated that teams are looking for a younger, creative DC, someone who will stay with a team for years to come. Plus, Spagnuolo is turning 65 this coming December, so he doesn’t fit that resume description.

ESPN
Here’s a breakdown from Darius Butler (a DB who played for the Pats, Panthers and Colts) at ESPN in Oct. talking about three plays from the most recent Super Bowl (1:23):
