Editor’s Notes: in a meeting with David Perkins last week, he indicated that the minimal text in this article is intentional and meant for readers (Chiefs fans) to draw their own conclusions, which should be obvious. Also, please note that David sent me all the parts of this series weeks ago, and we all know the Chiefs defense has shown improvements since that time, so please take that into consideration as well. -Laddie Morse
Halftime Rearview Review: How Super are the Chiefs? – FINALE – we know what 2018 looked like, so the real question is, “After 8 games, are we closer or further from being Super?”
I am making this really super simple. Red highlight (peach) means we are worse than 2018. Green highlight means we are better than 2018. Just remember, we have only played half a season, and averages do take time to play out.
The tally of better or worse is also simplified, by counting the number of reds or greens. This method will literally make for more colorful conversation!
Run Offense
No argument here as Andy iced our RBs for 2 games
Pass Offense
Pat missed 1.5 games and was not himself for 2 other halves
Total Offense
1 more touchdown per game means 3 more wins
Run Defense
Run over by Ravens Colts and Texans reflected in stats
Pass Defense #1
100% improvement across the board
Pass Defense #2
Sacks and Passes defensed on pace with 2018. Leave Clark alone!
Total Defense
3 points knocked off per game average
Scoring
Offensive production needs to pick up the pace!
Scoring & TOP
The Defense improved but the Offense worsened by a greater amount
Conclusion
Now for the moment we have all been waiting for, but you already knew the answer… did you not?
Your thoughts at (or near) the halfway mark?
Be positive! The best is yet to come! Think Abundance!!
