Chiefs: Reliving the 2020 Season, Week 1 – We can learn a lot by looking back at our lives. So, let’s take a look at the Chiefs in Week 1 on opening day game vs the Houston Texans in Arrowhead. If you’ll recall, this was a Thursday evening game.
The First Quarter
Kansas City Chiefs fans had that warm and fuzzy safe feeling down deep because the Texans were leading after the first quarter, 7-to-0.
The Second Quarter
Although Travis Kelce only had 6 catches (on 6 targets) and 50 total receiving yards in this game, it was the beginning of an epic year for him in which he had 1,416 receiving yards, the most ever in one season by a tight end. However, you can bet your bottom dollar that he’d trade that record for a second straight Super Bowl ring!
The Third Quarter
RB Clyde Edwards-Helaire had a great opening day and while he had his best run of the year here, showing off a terrific jump-cut, he finished up with 138 yards rushing on 25 carries, but would go on to only average 12 carries and 55 yards per game, the rest of the year.
The Fourth Quarter
We learned that CEH was good enough to be a featured back in the NFL. Here’s another carry he had late in the fourth quarter:
