This 2024 NFL Draft that t he Kansas City Chiefs participated in, gave GM Brett Veach the opportunity to select three Offensive Linemen, which is exactly what he did by choosing, Kingsley Suamataia, Hunter Nourzad and C.J. Hanson. While NFL.com ranks the Chiefs draft class as the 12th best this year, I would rank them much higher. This may have more to do with this being a stocked draft than anything else. However, PFF.com ranks the Chiefs selection of Safety Jaden Hicks – the 133rd pick overall – as one of this draft’s steals.

C.J. Hanson played for Holy Cross and was used at the interior offensive line positions (6:50).

Kamal Hadden

Kamal Hadden is another steal for the Chiefs. The steal… may come as a result of his shoulder injury half way through (which was successfully operated on) his last year at Tennessee, but his play prior to that time as a CB was stellar, and if he had not been injured, he may have gone in the first or second rounds of this draft (3:21).

Nourzad was taken with the 159th pick in the draft and played the three IOL positions. He started out at Cornell and then moved to Penn State (3:43).

Jaden Hicks
.
.
Jaden Hicks is a large Safety — 6-foot-2, 211 lbs. — who can also play against RBs and WRs and TEs in coverage. Although he may look like a hybrid Safety/LB, he is more the kind of versatile DB that Steve Spagnuolo loves to employ (10:16).

Jaden Hicks knows the names of all eleven (11) DBs taken ahead of him in the draft? And… he has a chip on his shoulder? Whoa, we are getting a super steal!
.
Jared Wiley
.
.
The Chiefs drafted a tight end who is bigger — 6-foot-7, 255 lbs. — than future Hall of Famer, Travis Kelce, in Jared Wiley. They took him with the 131st pick in the draft and he played his college career at TCU in Fort Worth Texas (9:22).

Kingsley Suamataia

.
Kingsley was the first of three OL taken by the Chiefs in this draft. He goes at 6-foot-5, 326 lbs. according to DraftBuzz.com. Suamataia is said to be the first cousin of Penei Sewell, the All-Pro Tackle from Detroit and is also said to have similar abilities as Sewell. We’ll see about that (21:13).

Xavier Worthy

.
Worthy is famous for his record breaking 40 time at the combine. A time of 4.21 so many have wrongly assumed he is only a speed guy. The reality is, he runs great routes and will make the loss of Tyreek Hill a couple of years ago a distant memory (10:25).

I think these selections may turn out to be Brett Veach’ best draft overall. Do you have a favorite pick?
