It doesn’t take long when you are a huge winner. Fans of other teams — mostly in the AFC West — have always despised the Kansas City Chiefs, but now every fan of every team genuinely hates these Chiefs. Why? Think about the Patriots of the 00’s and the teens (mostly) and you’ll understand why opposing fans dislike the Chiefs so much now.
There are many reasons why the Chiefs have become the “Villains” of the NFL, but simply beating a team on their own home turf is a big one:

In the following video at the :30 second mark, Bills fans throw snowballs at Mahomes. If you pay attention to the beginning of this video, their kicker missed a field goal “Wide Right” and that’s the number one reason they lost to K.C..

Reasons For the Villainy
Race Issues
Some may claim the Chiefs have become villains because it’s an issue of race. Mahomes is part black and there was a time when black QBs could not hold a QB position in the NFL, but you’d have to go back to the 60’s or 70’s to track that kind of historic acrimony. Yes, that time has long since past and although I grew up in a very liberal Southern California atmosphere, and the whole nationwide race debate appeared to pass me by, there may be some fans still out there who hold on to their old destructive dogma. However, I certainly doubt that is the main reason for the Chiefs being touted at the evil masters of the NFL universe. Not these days.

Wifey/Familial Issues
Brittany Mahomes has made herself a nuisance from time to time. Opening a bottle of champagne over a crowd of Kingdom Fans did not endear herself to those who got drenched.

.
Brittany has gotten a lot of clap backs for doing this but it’s hard to see this as the main reason the Chiefs have become the most hated foe of NFL teams. Even if you take into account the actions of his younger brother, Jackson, it just doesn’t add up to such pigskin animosity.

Travis Kelce Motifs
Kelce’s Taylor Swift connection began last July — nearly a year ago — when Travis made a friendship bracelet with his phone number on it hoping to give it to Tay-Tay after her concert in Arrowhead. However, he didn’t get the opportunity and became “butt-hurt” (his words) when he found out that Taylor Swift doesn’t talk to anyone before or after her concerts to preserve her voice. They met shortly thereafter and since that time, when they first got together, Kelce’s #87 jersey sales have skyrocketed:

Travis Kelce has benefitted from his association with Taylor Swift and so has the NFL:
.
.
Kelce’s affiliation with Miss Swift has brought much attention to them, and the team, and apparently raised ticket prices in the process. Now, I can see that if you are an Eagles fan how the reversal of fortunes for Taylor Swift trading in her Philly fanship for the Chiefs red and goldeness, might be upsetting. However, that doesn’t spell the colossal calamity levied on the team from Kansas City as a result of the Swifty-switch-blade switching of team loyalties.
No, there is a bigger reason for K.C. becoming “The Villain”… than any of these presented so far.

Winning: The Reason for the Treason
The Kansas City Chiefs are about as Patriotic a team as you will find in the USA. I suppose that may be the reason so many fans hooked up with and followed the Patriots… it was the name and the colors. Of course, they had Tom Brady, and even though I’m not a huge fan of his nor do I believe he was a better QB than Joe Montana, he was good enough to win seven Super Bowls and set standards that our own Patrick Mahomes is attempting to demolish. If Mahomes leads these Chiefs to three straight Super Bowl victories, there’s no reason in my mind that Mahomes should not be considered along with the best ever. However… that’s a topic for a different day.
When teams win for a protracted amount of time, then fan bases naturally gravitate towards either: 1) Liking that team, or 2) hating them because their own team can’t win while that team is riding roughshod over the Super Bowl (0:10).
.
.
Here’s proof that Patrick Mahomes is the best QB of all time. Mahomes and the top 10 behind him (offered by StatMuse.com):
.
.
Winning percentage surely tells it all. The fact that their are only 8 QBs in NFL history who ever had at least a .700+ winning percentage — and Patrick Mahomes leads all QBs in that category — it’s the biggest indicator ever. If “winning” is the real reason for the Chiefs becoming “Villains” then I totally get it. If there’s some other reason, please tell me, because to me, Patrick Mahomes is the nicest guy around, on top of being an elite and efficient QB.
