ARROWHEADONE CHIEFS WEEK 11: GAME THREAD

ARROWHEADONE CHIEFS WEEK 11: GAME THREAD

Another Home game, another day to tailgate. How I wish I was pulling into the stadium now, watching the cloud of barbeque smoke rise and coalesce into one harmonious cloud hanging above the parking lot and sailing right into Arrowhead Stadium. Man, those memories never fail to satisfy… or die. How could they ever die because once you have experienced the olfactory sensation of smelling that smell wafting into your brain cavity you never are the same again. Then to march into Arrowhead just in time to watch Derrick Thomas and Martyball… oh wait… wrong decade. Sorry.

Today’s game features the NFC South’s second place team the Tampa Bay Buccaneers at 4-5 against the AFC West’s leader — and the AFC’s second-ranked team — in the Kansas City Chiefs at 7-2. Today’s game pits the Bucs 16th ranks passing attack vs. the Chiefs 13th ranked passing defense. The Bucs rushing offense is ranked 17th in the league against the Chiefs 27th ranked rushing defense. That’s when the Bucs have the ball. So, let’s take a look at when the Chiefs have the ball.

This game also features Kansas City’s 22nd ranked passing attack vs. the Bucs 23rd place passing defense.  When the Chiefs are running the ball it will be their 20th ranked attack vs. the Bucs  25th ranked rushing defense. This is where I believe the Chiefs will begin their assault today, in the running game. If the Chiefs can get some things going early in the running game ith should set up everything else they’re doing. In fact, everything the Chiefs want to accomplish on offense they should be able to do if they can first establish the run game.

For the Bucs to win this game, their QB Jamis Winston will have to keep the offensive mistakes to a minimum… like one. One fumble or one INT and that’s it. If the CHhefs win big in the takeaway department then they will be going to 8 wins. For the Bucs to walk away with a victory Winston will have to be very productive and their defense must find ways to stop the Chiefs offense and keep them from gaining their momentum. However, I doubt that’s going to happen in the happy confines of Arrowhead Stadium and I predict the Chiefs walk away with a convincing win, 27-to-17.

What do you predict Chiefs fans?
