Bad News, Bears: K.C. Mauls Chicago, 26-3 – if you are a Chicago Bears fan, last night was un”Bear”able to watch.  In fact, it was downright em”Bear”assing. Honestly, I’m sorry for that, but please “Bear” with me. Also, if you are a Chicago fan, please know that professional help is available. But, I digress.

Last night’s game was textbook Andy Reid football. Let’s win, pump the brakes, and live to play again next week. This is not what we’ll need come the playoffs, but it worked for the Chiefs last night, and I’ll gladly take it.

It started off with a quick six on the opening drive. With fifteen plays that ran almost 8 minutes off of the clock, Chiefs QB Patrick Mahomes ran the ball into the endzone for a touchdown. Kicker Butker Harrison was golden, as always.

The QB that the Bears passed on in the 2017 draft racked up 251 yards on his “could-have-been” team, along with two touchdowns, no interceptions, and the TD that he ran in.

Never has Chicago made a bigger mistake in passing on Mahomes than when the Cubs traded Lou Brock to the St. Louis Cardinals. Hurts, doesn’t it? Andy unleashed!

I’ll not give you a recap of the game. Rather, let’s delve into the heroes that made it happen. That’s right, the Chiefs defense.

The Chiefs defense held the Bears to under 300 yards of total offense. That’s 101 rushing, and 157 passing. Does anyone smell a Honey Badger?

Also, just three points. You know what three points, are?

Tight end Travis Kelce again lived up to his Zeus nickname with eight receptions for 74 yards and a touchdown. Teammate Tyreek Hill was on point, also, with five receptions for 72 yards.

Our running game sucked, as usual with just 101 yards on 29 attempts. I cannot wait until they let D-Train out of the gates. I’m not the guy who says “I told you so,” but, I am so much the guy who tells you “I told you so.” I can’t wait.

In the preseason, if you had told me, I would sing the praises of our defense this time last year, I would have laughed in your face, but Spags did it. Yes, he did.

Come the fourth quarter, the Chiefs put the game to bed with an 11 play drive, eating over six minutes for 43 yards and three points.  Guess who was golden once more? The Chiefs won the Time of Possession battle 33:24 to Bears 26:36. That’s not the be-all-end-all stat but it did force the Bears defense to wear out as the game 4th quarter came to a close.

Look, the Chiefs are the best team in the NFL and the team to beat. However, they still have Andy’s muzzle on. Such will not always be the case… stay tuned for Andy Unleashed. Be afraid Baltimore.  Be afraid New England. Be very afraid.
