Chiefs: 2020 NFL Draft, Day 2 OPEN THREAD – with Day One of the 2020 Draft in the books, Kansas City Chiefs fans are perhaps more eager than ever to see who GM Brett Veach will welcome into the Kingdom next. That may be because for many fans, the selection of a running back like Clyde Edwards-Helaire was a bit of a surprise.

What many are hoping for, including moi, is a cornerback or a linebacker to help strengthen positions of perceived weakness. I say, perceived, because there is information we’re not privy to such as, just how much DC Steve Spagnuolo might be ready to rely on depth or developmental players stepping up to fill these voids that fans believe exist… but in his mind, don’t. Like, how many defensive snaps is Spags willing to give Dorian O’Daniel in 2020? He only had 5 in 2019. Or, how much do DB coaches Dave Merritt and Sam Madison trust new signee Antonio Hamilton?

Some players just take more time to develop so if the Chiefs coaches have reported progress to Brett Veach or see the potential to bring them along, then the draft could be effected in ways we won’t understand.

In the meantime, it looks like the Chiefs regime is listening to their franchise QB and are at the very least, in sync.

In retrospect, we can see that the Chiefs had a visit with their first round selection Clyde Edwards-Helaire prior to the draft. Here is a list of the players the Chiefs have had a visit with whether that was at the combine, Senior Bowl, East/West Shrine game Pro day or a streaming meeting. Note: the players with a line through their name have already been drafted:

As you can see, there are plenty of excellent prospects to choose from. So, who are you interested in who the Chiefs have already had a visit with?
