Yes, when the Miami Dolphins came to play — and lose — to the Kansas City Chiefs on Saturday evening, many players on the Chiefs side were responsible for the victory. Many coaches, equipment managers and players. However, that game could also be known as: the RICE BOWL, simply because rookie WR Rashee Rice had perhaps his best game in a Chiefs uniform. While there were many players who helped make this win a possibility, there could be only one Player of the Game, and that was Rashee Rice. Special Thanks to Chiefs Kingdom Live who I believe first coined the phrase, “Rice Bowl.”

In the first half of the 2023 season — 9 games — Rashee Rice Averaged 42 receiving yards per game. In the last 8 games, Rice averaged 68.25 Receiving Yards Per Game and that includes a 42 yards receiving during a game in Week 10 vs the Eagles. If you start with Rice in the last half of the 2023 campaign in Week 11, he’s averaged 92.57 Receiving Yards Per Game. We know that Tyreek Hill has been considered the best, or one of the best, Wideouts in the NFL and he has averaged 105 yards per game receiving in 2023. So, Rice isn’t that far off the mark of one of the best to ever do it… even though Rice is a rookie still learning the trade. Also, in this game, he had 75 yards receiving — after the catch!
Chiefs Concerns had a great take on Rice (2:05):

Yes, this was the coldest game ever played in Arrowhead Stadium, but it was only the 4th coldest game ever. The coldest game in NFL history? That would be the Ice Bowl in 1967 between the Dallas Cowboys and the Green Bay Packers in Lambeau Field when the game time temp was -13 below. That’s 13 degrees below zero before wind chill and by the way, the wind chill on that day was -48 degrees… that degrees BELOW zero. I remember watching that game from the comfort of my parents home but you could feel the cold coming through the black and white screen they had. Fortunately, I was sitting by the fire all toasty roasty.
In this game on Saturday, Rashee Rice caught the ball like their was no ice build up on the field and he hadn’t a care in the world for all the coldness surrounding him or the other players. He didn’t hug the passes to his body, which would be expected, no, he grabbed each pass away from his body the way he was taught. His performance was outstanding and should never be forgotten. Not in this lifetime anyway! Thus –> the RICE BOWL.
