If you haven’t caught onto it yet, the Kansas City Chiefs game is tomorrow on Monday Night Football, now covered by ESPN. After that, the Chiefs are into their Bye Week and then… on to San Francisco to take on the 49ers. You can either watch the game on NBC (locally) or ESPN (by paying for it).
There’s been a lot of speculation this week, with Rashee Rice injury and him going to the IR, whether or not the Chiefs would try and trade for, or sign, a Wide Receiver. Or… possibly elevate a WR form their Practice Squad. Andy Reid addressed that during his press conference on Saturday:
.
.
That is somewhat surprising. However, K.C. has until Monday to decide if they want to do that:
.
.
Ron Kopp Jr. had this to say about the addition of TE Jody Fortson to the Chiefs 53 man roster:
.
“The Jody Fortson [re]signing may lead to the return of
14 Personnel for the Chiefs this weekend. Andy Reid
called it the “T-Rex” package in 2021 after breaking
it out in the preseason to score a TD.”
.
Katherine Terrell of ESPN has this to say about the Saints for Monday’s matchup with the Chiefs:
.
“Saints storyline to watch: Saints tight end Taysom Hill
didn’t practice on Thursday with separate rib and chest
injuries. He has missed seven quarters of play this season,
including a game against the Eagles, due to injuries. The
Saints’ run game appears to be significantly impacted with
Hill out of the lineup. When Hill was on the field against the
Falcons, the Saints averaged 6.1 yards per rush compared
to 2.6 yards per rush without him in the lineup.”
.
Adam Teicher has this to say about the Chiefs for the MNF game:
.
“Chiefs storyline to watch: The Saints lead the NFL in
scoring at almost 32 points per game. But the Chiefs have
held two other opponents in the top 10 in scoring (Ravens
/ Bengals) below their season averages. For that matter,
the Chiefs held their other two opponents (Falcons
and Chargers) below theirs as well.”
.
Teicher does predict a win for K.C.: Chiefs 31, Saints 24.
.
Here’s all of the writers at ArrowheadPride and their predictions:
.
Chiefs-Saints Week 5 predictions from Arrowhead Pride:
Pete Sweeney – Chiefs 23, Saints 9
Matt Stagner – Chiefs 24, Saints 13
Jared Sapp – Chiefs 24, Saints 17
Rocky Magaña – Chiefs 20, Saints 13
Ron Kopp Jr. – Chiefs 20, Saints 17
Maurice Elston – Chiefs 21, Saints 17
John Dixon – Chiefs 24, Saints 17
Nate Christensen – Chiefs 17, Saints 13
.
Here’s what Pete Prisco at CBS Sports has to say about the game:
.
“Pete Prisco: “The Saints are playing consecutive road
games and they are doing so in prime time. That’s tough
enough, but they are also playing the top team in the league.
Patrick Mahomes started to show flashes of his old ways
last week. I think he plays well here — throwing for over 270
and two scores, as the Chiefs win when they turn Derek Carr
picks into points. Pick: Chiefs 31, Saints 20″
.
Six out of Eight Sports Writers Predict the Saints will win at Bleacher Report:
.
“Davenport: Saints
Gagnon: Saints
Hanford: Chiefs
Knox: Saints
Michelino: Saints
Moton: Saints
O’Donnell: Chiefs
Sobleski: Saints”
.
The Arizona Republic: Chiefs 23, Saints 20
