Chiefs Ascend When They Didn’t Play an NFL Snap

David Bell

In the NFL strange things can happen when a team has a Bye Week. The Kansas City Chiefs didn’t play an NFL Snap for Week 10 – and assumed the AFC Overall Lead – advancing anyway. Here are the top six teams in the AFC:

Good things happened, but the Vegas Raiders won their game over the Lions: a Check Box left blank on my slate. There is one game remaining on my checklist: The Broncos at the Bills on MNF. It can’t be a clean-sweep because the Raiders won, but it would be near perfect should the Broncos drop another game back tonight. BTW: the Bills are favored though they are missing two starters on defense. Here’s my checklist:

Team  Check Box & Notes:

Lions vs Chargers Check –  Division Foes loses

Browns vs Ravens Check  – Ravens no longer #1

Texans vs Bengals Check  – Big Foe loses again (Smile!)

49ers vs Jags Check  – Jags lose – major competitor

🚫 Raiders vs Lions  – This is a miss Needed Raiders to backup

Broncos vs Bills MNF  – MNF outcome not determined

I have wondered why Toney has not been used more. Andy Reid was asked about Toney in his Presser on Monday. Reid observed:

Note that the knee surgery was probably a big part of the caution, but then you must consider he also had two other injuries that must be considered (wrist and toe). Matt Connor of ArrowheadAddict.com had a good article about Toney called, “Kadarius Toney’s usage tied to long-term health concerns.

I watched all of Reid’s Presser this morning but other than addressing the Toney situation, I found it to be a lot of “Coach-Speak.”

Although I want the Bills to win the game for obvious reasons, it’s tough for me to ante up a bunch of enthusiasm for a Bill’s victory. They are favored — of course — by the betting public, and should be. Here is a view of the money line from DraftKings:

I spent the past 8 days looking for something to write about. The pickin’s were slim. This is the best I could come up with from Monday’s reports while merging with my own view of the Chiefs prospects as they face a very tough NFC team, the Philadelphia Eagles next. What I am looking for is the offense to get out of the gate with greater proficiency, the defense to continue It’s new prowess, and for Andy Reid’s after-the-Bye weekend success to continue.

Naturally, I am predicting a win over the Eagles. After all, I am a Chiefs homer since 1963. I apologize for the brief article. As they say,
