Chiefs: Christmas Wishes and Tunes

Chiefs: Christmas Wishes and Tunes – ArrowheadOne Writers – We here at ArrowheadOne would like to wish you all a very Merry Christmas. Following is a list of some of the Christmas Wishes our writers have and we decided to include a few Christmas Tunes suggestions for your enjoyment as well.

Wish: Get Healthy Along the Offensive Linemen

If I could give the Kansas City Chiefs anything for Christmas, it would have to be the right combination of healthy players, on the Offensive Line. Life is whole lot easier, for the best QB in the NFL, when Eric Fisher mans the left and Mitchell Schwartz locks down the right. Beyond that, though, Chiefs need to find a way to replace Andrew Wylie, who has been a consistent liability, at Guard. A healthy Stefen Wisniewski would make a great alternative. Chiefs’ center position has been largely underwhelming, but if they plan to continue using QB motion, they are probably stuck with Austin Reiter. Daniel Kilgore may be marginally better and it would be interesting to see what Martinas Rankin could do, in the middle, but an upgrade, at Center, might not be in Santa’s budget, this year. – Ransom Hawthorne

Wish: Acquire Multiple Draft Picks

My Chiefs wish is for the Chiefs to acquire as many draft picks as possible in the off-season of 2020. With new efforts placed on diversity the Chiefs could gain two draft picks from the hiring of Eric Bieniemy as a head coach and Ryan Polls as a GM candidate as well. With the uncertainty surrounding the 2021 cap the Chiefs need to consider trading down in the draft and look for players for picks trades that won’t hurt them in the present but also help them in the future. – Price Carter

My Wish? I pray and wish for all Chiefs, fans and followers to find contentment, peace in your hearts, that through prayers you secure God’s Blessings, that all have health and humility for the coming year and that all bring peace and joy to your homes, friends, family and fellow Chiefs for the coming new season, 2021! AND Oh! GO CHIEFS!

Wish: Return of the Coaching Staff

Losing Offensive Coordinator Eric Bieniemy this offseason is a highly probable reality, and as our consolation gift we receive an extra draft pick for that loss. But as his replacement as OC the Chiefs need to retain and promote QB coach, Mike Kafka, if Mike does not receive any Head Coaching offers with another team, which would not surprise me if he did. On the defensive side of the staff, if Defensive Coordinator Steve Spagnuolo is hired elsewhere, (my opinion he needs one more prove it year before I would trust him for a third attempt as a head coaching). Then DL coach Brandon Daly (and running game coordinator) needs to be retained and promoted to Defensive Coordinator. Anytime that you win Super Bowls it gets the attention of other teams, as they are in hopes of receiving some of the magic potion from the Chiefs. Silly them, can’t duplicate their recipe! – Alan Haupt

Wish: Improve the Linebacking Core

Alan Haupt suggested this Chiefs Wish list and I’m going to take it to mean, wishes for the offseason. So, my great wish and hope is that Brett Veach, and his personnel evaluation crew, will decide to make the necessary changes to the Linebacking room that would make this group stellar. This should include removing some LBs as well as bringing in new Linebackers, whether by drafting them or signing one or two through Free Agency. While I know the handling of the cap will be a tough situation I believe that Veach is up to the challenge and can make the LB room much improved, the same way he did the Safety room in the 2018 offseason, and then repeated that improvement of the CB room last offseason. – Laddie Morse

Wish: More Dominance

I think I would have to join most other Chiefs fans, who although basking in the dominance of this team’s will to win and winning record, are yearning for the solid dominant game, with clean leads, consistently productive drives, foot-off-the-gas, offensive excess! While we know that teams are giving them their best personal “Super Bowl” performance every week. Having a bit of the dominance would be a shining Christmas gift! – Dan Guinn

Wish: Football As The Gridiron Gods Meant It

This Christmas, I just want football back. Back the way it was before COVID-19. I want the Arrowhead Stadium stands overflowing with a Sea of Red, the 142.2 decibel record in peril, each and every time the Chiefs exit their tunnel on Sunday afternoon. Every home game in 2021, I want the Chiefettes revving up that Sea of Red, KC Wolf goof-balling as only he can, and Susie riding astride WarPaint galloping up the field. I want to watch a Chiefs-Raiders game at my local bar replete in my Chiefs garb on talking tall smack on any hater foolish enough to doubt my Chiefs. All of this will signify a return to normalcy. Better yet, it will mean that lives are no longer being snuffed out because of this insidious murderer of mankind.  That’s what I wish for this Christmas. The gridiron gods will it, as well. – Michael Travis Rose

Wish: Another Super Bowl Championship!

I mean 2 in a row, so yes, at the conclusion of the 2020 season. This time around I want the Chiefs to be better than last year’s run. Instead of three come-from-behind wins, I want three no-doubt-about-who-is-the-best-team, wins. I want them to be talked about as the best team for the 2020 season, without any other team being close in comparison. I want them to be one of the best teams of all time. In order to accomplish this gift they must, “Flip The Switch” every minute, for every quarter, in every game. – Alan Haupt

Wish: Let Kelce Finish the Career Year

My Christmas wish for the Chiefs this year, let’s call it my 2020 “Chiefsmas” wish, is that our favorite TE Travis Kelce not only breaks the TE reception yards record, but that he shatters it, along with breaking the TE receptions record, and becoming the first TE in NFL history to lead the league in receiving yards (even besting all WRs). I have always been a fan of Kelce, but this year I can safely say he is my favorite Chief right behind Patrick. He deserves every record, and he also deserves to go down as the greatest Chiefs TE of all time (with all due respect to Gonzo). The 2020 season has been a career year for the 31-year-old perennial Pro Bowler (and yes, he has already been selected to another of those). He has had so many statement games it’s become routine, and he’s either on pace or in the ballpark to accomplish everything I’ve just listed. He’s arguably put to bed the discussion of who the best TE in the league is, and he’s also effectively shut up all the haters who wanted to argue that he wasn’t a great blocker like 49ers TE George Kittle. Finally, he has once again solidified himself as Mahomes’ safety blanket. The Chiefs have an embarrassment of riches at the skill positions on offense, but when the team is facing a difficult or crucial 3rd down, who does Patrick most often go to for a key 1st down? That’s right – the one and only, Mr. Travis Kelce. So he has most definitely earned all this success, and we as fans have to take a step back this holiday season and truly appreciate the greatness we are witness to. – James S. McGregor

Wish: The Chiefs Blessings Continue

The Chiefs are Blessed for the past 8 years. Beginning in 2013, the Chiefs established a winning record and a playoff berth. Each season since then has been a winning season culminating in a Lombardi Trophy in 2019. In 2020? We are doubly blessed by having a clear shot at a repeat title which is an achievable goal. Our Club, our ownership, front office and coaching staff as well as other contributors for health and conditioning, the players themselves — the team, the unity, the cohesiveness despite all the dilemma that face all of us with the virus potential exposures; the fans, the followers, the perception of outsiders to the Chiefs and Kansas City, the pundits local and national are all part of the Chiefs one way or another. Even those who hate the Chiefs, they are part of it too. I am glad to root for this football club and be a fan. It has, all of it has arrived at this point of 2020 with only two games remaining. They are not going to lose either the game against the Falcons or the Chargers. They will finish 15-1. #RUNITBACK CHIEFS! – David Bell
