Chiefs: Day Three of Pads

It may have been Day 7 of Training Camp, but it was Day 10 for QBs and Rookies and then again… the Kansas City Chiefs practiced in full Pads again yesterday and that was Day 3 in Pads.

Afterwards Andy Reid, Trey Smith, and Drue Tranquill addressed the media. Reid said this about Injuries up front in his presser:

From ArrowheadPride comes this about the rest of the players not at practice yesterday:

Of course we already know what the word illness means for B.J. Thompson, because he will start the season on the NFI (non-football injury) list. Here’s Andy Reid’s presser from yesterday after practice (5:43):

Here’s Trey Smith’s Presser (4:44):

Here’s 80% of Drue Tranquill’s presser (3:04):

Part of it got cut off at the end. Sorry about that. At the end of this video, Tranquill talks about practicing against the best TE, Travis Kelce, ever and he also talks about RB Isiah Pacheco and how talking to him helps to get him pumped. Drue T. also talks about the new kickoff rule and how he expects there to be a lot more TDs (0:20).

ArrowheadPride has an article called (in part):

… which is by Pete Sweeney and he quotes Andy Reid as saying on Sunday:

“I like the competition there. Really, there are two of

them that are working in there and they’re doing a

nice job. They kind of go back and forth and they’re

challenging each other. They’re also good friends,

so they’ve developed a friendship and it’s good

healthy competition.”

I hope each of them — Suamataia and Morris — does a bang up job. Like David Bell has said before, I too believe that Wanya Morris could move to the LG position if need be. The more starting reps he gets at LT the better off he’ll be at LG, if called upon. BTW, Joe Thuney has been cleared to practice full speed and we should see him soon at St. Joe soon.
