Getting Down to Some Cases
by David Bell | March 30, 2019
Case 1: A Relatively Unknown DE
Tim Ward is the lesser known DE from Old Dominion who has been thrust into the eye of Brett Veach and Co. His visit on Thursday may end up being important to the Chiefs down the road. For example, top 30 visits yield roster spots to players and last season, Tremon Smith was one such player. We will discover more after the results of measurements on Saturday are reported.
Ward is an athletic athlete, very fluid, fast, and he has excellent SAQ (Short Area Quickness). He has been overshadowed but his metrics may translate to an NFL role quickly and that is apparently why he was invited to the Kingdom for the Regional Combine Supplemental in Kansas City.
Note: Ward’s arm length and wingspan, from NFL Draft Bible as noted by Charles Goldman in an article at Chief’s Wire – 82 Inches! (7 Ft).
Perhaps as important over all is… does the player have good character and does he fulfill the requirement of the Dorsey Factor –> “Love of the Game?”

Case 2: A Top DT Contract
The Chiefs have begun negotiations to extend the contract of Chris Jones. Right now, this is the best player-contract to address as we have to wait on Hill’s “Case.” This information, via Brooke Pryor of the Kansas City Star.
UPDATE: The Kansas City Chiefs and DL Chris Jones are engaged in fluid contract talks, per Brooke Pryor.

Case 4: “CASE” DOS EQUIS
Making the case for trading for Xavier Rhodes. This is now making sense to me. This could then become THE CASE NUMBER DOS EQUIS.
Case 5: WR On The Rise
Byron Pringle is going to be a very good WR. His metrics [are excellent] and the post by Regan Creswell, who is one of the

Case 5th Dimension: A Case for Recapitulation
More on Tim Ward and perhaps others to follow. I want to see the results of the metrics and report back on Ward.
Hearing that @ODUFootball DE Tim Ward measured in at 6-5, 257 with seven-foot wingspan (82") at the NFL Regional Combine in KC. With 31 career TFL and 14.5 sacks, the lengthy edge rusher has generated some buzz amongst scouts. pic.twitter.com/djgwbWC6gd
