In a game that means more than the 100 wins for Andy Reid as Head Coach of the Kansas City Chiefs, and the only head coach with 100 wins for two different teams, the Chiefs need a win on Sunday In Philadelphia.
Like the Chiefs, the Eagles are 1-and-2. The Eagles beat a very weak Flacons club, while the Chiefs lone win came against one of he best teams in he AFC, the Browns. So, how bad are he Falcons? hey beat he lowly (0-and-3) N.Y. Giants, barely, 17-to-14. That may help to put the Eagles 1-and-2 record in perspective.
A huge negative memory I have of the Eagles loss last week to the Cowboys — 42-to-21, was of their QB Jalen Hurts, repeated again and again, “I didn’t do a good enough job.” A horrendous sound bite echoing in the hallways of NFL sound bites. It’s one thing to take responsibility… and quite another to come across as a broken-man-broken record.

I don’t think I’ve ever heard a QB sound like he was so defeated. Even after Patrick Mahomes led the Chiefs to a 31-to-9 loss to the Bucs in SB LV, I can’t recall any part of his postgame remarks sounding that forlorn. While the Eagles played a good 49ers team to a 17-to-11 loss, a much closer game than expected, they don’t appear to have the necessary tools to beat these Chiefs, starting with their quarterback.
While I’m sure Jalen Hurts and Head Coach Nick Sirianni are up late nights attempting o figure out a way for their offense to replicate he Ravens approach, these Eagles just don’ have anywhere near the staff to pull it off.

While ESPN, and others, have the Chiefs falling to 10th place in their power rankings, the Eagles sit at #24. ESPN Eagles beat reporter, im McManus, has this to say about the Eagles this week:
“Jalen Hurts was lights out in Week 1 and cooled considerably in Week 2, and the numbers landed him right in the middle heading into Monday night. He has been extremely effective with his legs (144 rushing yards and a TD) while getting the ball out quicker and with better accuracy in the passing game. And he didn’t turn the ball over in the first two games, before throwing two interceptions on Monday. If he can play more like he did the first two tilts, the Eagles will end up in a much better place than most predicted at the start of the season. Greater consistency as a passer will be the key to Hurts’ success.”
Yes, Hurts will need greater consistency, and plenty of it. His passer Rating is 40.8, which is you’re paying attention, is not good at all. As a comparison, Patrick Mahomes QB Ratting is 111.7.
Here’s the Eagles Injury report:
The Chiefs Injury report looks like this:

In an odd bit of Eagles-and-Chiefs related news, Le’Sean McCoy retired yesterday, and as expected, as an Eagle.
As you can tell by now, I fully expect the Chiefs to come away with a victory in Philadelphia this Sunday. It seems “destined to be” and called by the Football Gods, as Andy Reid goes for his 100th win as the Chiefs Skipper, against his old team, the Eagles.
Go Chiefs!
