Chiefs: “Hate Raider’s day is like a walk in the park.” Yeah, right!

David Bell

I am quite sure the Chiefs will win the game vs. the Raiders. I don’t think that it will be a walk in the park though. NFL Week 8 should end up in the tally book with a W, making it 7 wins in a row.

My question list follows below!

Will Deandre Hopkins get snaps during week 8? DHop will be ready to play having arrived on the October 23rd and seeing his first day in Red & Gold on the 24th. I do think Hopkins is a special WR and will get his first Chiefs Game Reps on Sunday!

By the time the Raiders win this game, DHop will be the WR#1 for the Chiefs. Why am I sure about this? Andy Reid had a 3-word response at a brief Presser about DHop being ready to suit up Sunday: Chiefs head coach Andy Reid: “Why wait, right?” Here is view of the short Reid presser (2:00):

What does the Chief’s Injury List look like? Mike Danna and JuJu Smith-Schuster will be out. KC needs to get JuJu back asap. I don’t know yet about Justin Reid who did not practice Thursday. I suspect he will play. The other players on the list were listed as being “Full Practice” aside from players who were ruled out for various reasons.

What are my player position concerns for Week 8? For me, it’s a “Usual Suspect” situation: Wanya Morris and Jawaan Taylor top my list!

Who are the WRs who will play on Sunday? My big notation about WRs is: It won’t be Skyy Moore! My list of players is: Deandre Hopkins (KC’s new #1 WR), Justin Watson, Mecole Hardman, Xavier Worthy. and a U-pick him: Justyn Ross, Nikko Remigio, Cornell Powell. Given the need for speed, I think the last WR will be Cornell Powell due to time and experience with the WR crew. Otherwise, the Chiefs could get saddled with only 4 WRs for the active roster. The Chiefs could add another WR to the list from the PS.

I am concerned with Cornerbacks due to the Jaylen Watson’s Injury. Will Keith Taylor (CB), get added to the active roster? I think it’s likely that Taylor could be an active roster addition. I am comfortable with Taylor getting the nod but Rookie Rookie Chris Roland-Wallace also has notched up a pick vs. the 49ers.

The Betting Spread? This a tough call because the point spread is Chiefs -9 while playing on the road. The odds makers though, don’t relish making a bet to match against Vegas. The over/Under is at 41.5 and favors the Chiefs as well but will likely be a low-scoring game.

Actual Injury Report is deeper – because of the injury to Isiah Pacheco, Marquise Brown, Rashee Rice, and JuJu Smith-Schuster along with Jaylen Watson and Charles Omenihu. There are other players on report or another such as Baylor Kupp and BJ Thompson.

According to Field Yates:

With the Chiefs cap space tight after the DeAndre Hopkins trade, the Chiefs restructured the contract of OT Jawaan Taylor by converting salary into a signing bonus, creating $5.3M in 2024 room. That change, depending on the service, is important due to the tightness of the Chief’s Cap Space.

Is there good news? Most certainly –> KC has the #1 QB in the NFL, our LB crew is more than solid as are the TEs and the Safety crew, even if Justin Reid sits out the next game with a hand injury.

Is there a 10th item on the list? Yes! The Chiefs coaching staff has an extremely competent crew beginning with HC Andy Reid on down the line with significant Chiefs experience! Check out the “Chiefs E’s” by Laddie Morse. The first section is on the Chiefs coaches (Education).

Will the Chiefs suffer another acrimonious loss suffered at the hands the Raiders, again, in Vegas? I am sure that CJ (Stone Cold Jones, the best DT in the NFL) will ensure this doesn’t happen again and has stated this in a presser this last week.

Where do the Chiefs go from here? The schedule favors KC. I am not looking too far ahead because after the Raiders — the Chiefs face the Bucs on Nov 4th, and that won’t be a piece of cake, but a game KC should win is facing the Broncos (in Arrowhead). This brings KC to a total of 3 games before they face the Buffalo Bills on the road in Week Eleven. A tough game no matter what! I won’t look any further than that at present. I think the Chiefs win the next 3 games in a row including Vegas, Bucs and Broncos, before facing Buffalo on November 17th. That’s my current prognosis. I can see the Chiefs with a record of 9 wins to the game prior to the Bills.

Is the number 13 unlucky? I am not superstitious, but I don’t want to tempt fate!

My lucky number is hence, the number 10 vs. the Bills. Go Chiefs!!!!!

That’s it. That’s my list of questions and concerns.
