Chiefs: Headliners, 02·04·24

With an 11-and-6 regular season record and a 3-and-0 playoff record, the Kansas City Chiefs are rolling into Super Bowl LVIII on a short roll. Many Chiefs Kingdom fans were hoping that roll would begin in December… and technically, it did. However, with a loss to the Raiders on Christmas day — perhaps their worst loss of the Patrick Mahomes era — the team waited a long time to get things going. And by “going” I mean, winning consistently. The next thing you know, the Playoffs are here and the Dolphins are in Arrowhead but… no problem. The team wakes up from a long slumbering seasons rest, and plow over the Dolphins, the Bills, in Buffalo. and the Ravens, in Baltimore. No biggy… right? Of course right.

Some fans are wondering if all this success is due more to Andy Reid or the play of Patrick Mahomes? In an article for ArrowheadPride written by John Dixon called, “The coach who might know him best says the Chiefs’ success starts with Andy Reid” he quotes Dave Toub as saying,

I like what Toub communicated here. I’m not sure why Dixon needed to turn this into a piece about whether or not it’s Andy Reid or Patrick Mahomes who makes the Chiefs truly go. Knowing that Reid is much closer to retirement age than Mahomes is, makes me hope that Mahomes can win even after Reid is gone. At least that’s what I expect.

In an article by CBSNews called, “Japanese embassy says Taylor Swift “should comfortably” make it in time for the Super Bowl” they confirm that Taylor Swift has a concert in Japan and that she will make it to Las Vegas in time for Travis game against the San Francisco 49ers in Super Bowl LVIII:

There are even bets available online on how many times the cameras will show Swift in her booth with her entourage the other Kelce or Mahomes adoring fans. Then again… maybe not.

Christian McCaffrey’s fiancé, Olivia Culpo, was at one time not going to get to see the Super Bowl from a Suite. I guess that’s changed a bit.

Wow, $2M for a Suite. That’s crazy.

Chiefs Left Guard, Joe Thuney, was counted out for most of the Ravens game and may end up not suiting up for the Super Bowl game against the 49ers. However, if Joe Thuney does suit up and play, there is much to be gained for him:

Maybe Thuney won’t make an extra 1.25M dollars like Chris Jones did (in the Chargers game) for getting his 10th sack or another chance to win $1M for making it to another Super Bowl:

No, playing in the Super Bowl will be about much more than money for Joe Thuney. It will be about legacy for him.

If you want to bet on this game, or any part of it, go to FanDuel.com to place your bet. The Chiefs are currently -2.5 (underdogs) so if you’re confident in a Chiefs win, you could make out.

BTW, I’m not a supporter of gambling of any kind and have refused betting institutions the opportunity to place their ads on ArrowheadOne. If you do gamble please realize, it can easily become an addiction. Please do so responsibly.

ArrowheadPride reported late yesterday that RB Jerick McKinnon may be active for the game vs the 49ers.

If McKinnon can go, that’s nothing but good news for the Chiefs offense. Let’s not forget that McKinnon runs a 4.41 – 40 yard dash, plus his speed and dependability could get the Chiefs offense to go from very good to great! In that same article, Pete Sweeney also reported:
