4-and-0 does have a nice ring to it, doesn’t it? You have to wonder if this is going to turn into 17-and-0 and then a Three-peat. Whoever is left over from the Dolphins 1972 squad will be cheering for a Chiefs loss, I’m guessing, beginning with the game against the New Orleans Saints this coming Monday, on October 7th.

Defensive Tackle Chris Jones had two Sacks on Sunday against the Chargers. That gives him three on the year, but he has been in on 9 total tackles. Jones has been called a “Game Wrecker” and is widely recognized now as the best in the biz. In an article for SportsIllustrated.com called: “Winners and Losers from the Chiefs’ Week 4 Victory Over the Chargers” Jordan Foote says:

The rest of Jordan Foote’s Losers were: Patrick Mahomes who had another less than great game, Skyy Moore who had a drop, Carson Steele who had a fumble, and Jawaan Taylor who had more penalties. His Winners included: Kareem Hunt, Matt Ariza, Travis Kelce and Xavier Worthy.

Rashee Rice has been the Chiefs #1WR so far this season. He suffered a bad knee injury in which his right knee was bent out of joint. You don’t need to see the replay of it to understand that it was horrific. I had a similar knee injury to my left knee years ago and when I saw the replay of Rice’s injury it was gut-wrenching. Here’s what Patrick Mahomes had to say abouit moving forward after the game:

We were expecting to hear on Monday more about Rashee Rice’s injury but there is nothing yet. Here’s a statement about Rashee Rice from Adam Schefter at ESPN around 4:30 PM on Monday:

4.21 is the fastest 40 yard dash time in the history of the NFL Combine. Xavier Worthy posted that time at this year’s combine and the Chiefs traded up from pick #32 to pick #28 to select him and he hasn’t disappointed. With Rashee Rice going down with a knee injury, Xavier Worthy will once again be called upon to step it up in his absence and help he offense out more than he has. I say, “once again” because the Chiefs lost WR Hollywood Brown early on his first catch of the preseason, and we’ve been expecting Worthy to step up more in his absence starting then. Here’s Worthy on a crossing pattern (0:11):

We might expect to see more patterns like this one in the near future.

freshmeat62 has stated that we (the Chiefs) should “Give the man a raise.” I agree and Clark Hunt should do whatever he can do to keep him in Kansas City. Maybe if Hunt moved the label of “Assistant Head Coach” from Dave Toub to Steve Spagnuolo it would help. Or perhaps, a dual “Assistant Head Coach” label would do the trick.

Steve Spagnuolo is the reason the Chiefs are 4-and-0 and not 1-and-3 or even 0-and-4. Here’s a Seth Keysor video:

Keysor makes a great point here: why in the world would you put a TE on Chris Jones, especially with the game on the line??? Here’s an interview with LB Leo Chenal after the game talking about Steve Spagnuolo and the defensive approach:

As of today at overthecap.com, the Chiefs have $4,930,027 to work with this year. While we know K.C. likes to hold over as much cap as possible (without going below the limit), they may have to break that rule to bring in another Super Bowl trophy.

Here are some wideouts who may be able to help:

Here’s a breakdown of each of these Wideouts:

DJ is headed for a 900 yards receiving year and Renfrow has had one 1,000+ receiving season. Diontae Johnson or Hunter Renfrow are my picks… if… Brett Veach is so inclined.

What do you think?
