We’ve only played one game in the 2023 season and many fans are already pushing the panic button. The first game of the season, against the Detroit Lions, didn’t go the way any of us Kansas City Chiefs fans hoped it would, but it’s time to move on and face the Jaguars in Jacksonville because if K.C. loses this game, they end up 0-and-2, and nobody wants to see that.
.
If the rumors are true at all, our own Mr. Travis Kelce has been pursuing pop icon Taylor Swift. From ET.com comes this quote from Kelce:
.
“I was disappointed that she doesn’t talk [to me] before or after her shows because she has to save her voice for the 44 songs that she sings. So I was a little butthurt I didn’t get to hand her one of the bracelets I made for her.”
.
The bracelet? Travis explained to his brother Jason:
.
“If you’re up on Taylor Swift concerts, there are friendship bracelets. I received a bunch of them being there, but I wanted to give Taylor Swift one with my number on it.”
.
After Thursday Night’s game featuring the Eagles and the Vikings, Tony Gonzalez asked Jason Kelce, on behalf of Tony G’s daughter (of course) if Jason could share anything about Travis and Taylor (0:42):

In an article written for mirror.co.uk it says:
.
“A new celebrity power couple could be forming with Travis Kelce and Taylor Swift ‘quietly hanging out’ after the Kansas City Chiefs star took dating advice from his sister-in-law… Travis Kelce appears to have finally got his Taylor Swift wish after failing to give the singer his number after attending one of her shows in July. According to The Messenger, Travis Kelce found a way to meet Swift in the end, and the pair are ‘quietly hanging out’ having crossed paths in New York City a few weeks ago.”
.
..
“Taylor and Travis have been quietly hanging out,” the source said. “She saw him when she was in NYC a few weeks ago.”

During the game against the Detroit Lions in Arrowhead last week, right tackle Jawaan Taylor was flagged for lining up too deep and then again for jumping the snap early… both times he denies that he should have been penalized:

I’m not much on conspiracy theories… but this one has me going… hmmmmmm……….

I’m sure we’ll still hear more from my constituents, but I believe Chris Jones did nothing wrong and did not hurt anyone by holding out and doing so to get a raise. In the end… was it a waste of time? Yes. In the end, did he make a mistake by holding out? Yes. In the end… should he fire the Katz, his agent/brothers? Yes.
So, why don’t I think he hurt anyone? Well, some fans are so locked into the team, the city, and it’s history… that they can’t let go of the idea that any specific player could sit out while others play on.
That’s fine. To each their own. I just knew he’d be back before the 8 game mark… which he threatened to do.

Travis Kelce was spotted grabbing his knee then twerking during practice on Friday (0:08).

.
A lot of fans took him seriously and began to worry about their all-star Tight End. However, he was just pulling a “Lo’eau LaBonta,” of the K.C. Current. She pulled the same move recently by kicking a penalty kick then grabbing her right-leg as she ran to celebrate, then, ended with a twerk. It’s hilarious, really (0:11).

You gotta LOVE Kelce’s sense of humor… even though he may take it a little far sometimes!

The Kansas City Defense only allowed 14 points, two TDs, last week against a very good Detroits Lions team. A team that finished 4th in total offense in 2022. However, this week, the Jags have wideout Calvin Ridley back off of suspension (he had gambled on an NFL game in 2021) and I’ve heard some people talking about his potential to become a first team All-Pro WR this year… based on one game of course.
My stance on Gambling is: it has no part in the game. The reason I believe that way is that I’ve seen what gambling can do to people, including family members who are depending on the money that one family member fritters away.
I hope Ridley’s gambling days are over but if they’re not, it spells big trouble for the Jags… in the long run.
The Chiefs defense is good this year. Now that DT Chris Jones is back, the Defense can be even better. While I’m predicting that the Jags score 20 points this week, the Jags offense is head and shoulders better than the Lions is.
Here’s DC Steve Spagnuolo this week on the defense, with Chris Jones (0:36):
