Chiefs Hero Universe Takes Hold

Laddie Morse

There’s no way to express how much I love the Kansas City Chiefs… well… wait one second. We could compare the players to DC and Marvel Universe hero characters. After all, most of these players are the same crew who won two of the last four Super Bowls. Right? Of course right! So, that’s what we’ll do today and maybe we’ll even learn something extra — Pow! or Wham! or Boom! — about our favorite team’s players. Since both Marvel and DC Universes are completely different, we’ll start this off with Marvel then alternate to DC. Of course, these two popular universe of characters was not enough, so I had to make up a couple of hero’s of my own.

.

Kadarius Toney

.

Toney is a shifty player. He can shoot this way then go that way… a lot like Spiderman!

.

Jerick McKinnon

.

Jerick McKinnon runs a fast 40 yard dash time of 4.41 seconds. It’s not as fast as Bo Jackson’s record setting time for running backs, but he’s fast enough to outrun most every DB in the league when necessary. A Post Honorable Mention would be Tyreek Hill. No, he wasn’t as fast as Bo Jackson either, but he was fast.

.

.

.

Chris Jones

.

This has nothing to do with Chris Jones’ temper. It has to do with his brutish ability in the trenches. Jones is 6-foot-6 and weighs 300 lbs. with 65 sacks over his 7 year career.

.

Skyy Moore

.

Batman actually has no powers but he’s very effective anyway. Also, he often seems to show up late to the show… which is exactly what Moore did by scoring his only TD last season as the Chiefs last TD of the Super Bowl.

.

Joe Thuney

.

The iron man award usually goes to a player who hasn’t missed a game. That’s exactly what describes Joe Thuney. He’s started 112 games out of 112 games he’s played in. Has he played in every snaps of every game? No. But he’s been steady and sturdy in 7 seasons in the NFL.

.

Trey Smith

.

I had to make one up for Trey Smith. I know, I know… Pancake Man sounds kind of wimpy. It sounds that way to me too… however… I’m sure it doesn’t seem wimpy to the defenders who get Pancaked:

.

.

By the way, I have no idea if Trey Smith loves to eat pancakes, but I do know he loves to give them out.

Creed Humphrey

.

Creed Humphrey comes off as an All-American guy… as much as anyone on the team. Plus, he cleans up real nice:

Maybe he could even pass for Clark Kent or, James Bond here..

.

.

Marquez Valdes-Scantling

.

Why Green Lantern? GL’s powers include: “to hypnotize people, to become invisible, to translate languages, to pass through solid objects, to heal, to paralyze enemies, and even to time travel.” Sounds like MVS to me. Did you know that MVS used to speak LaFleur/Rodgers and now he’s fluent in Reid/Mahomes?

.

.

Nick Bolton

.

Nick Bolton, like Thor, knows when to put the hammer down. He did just that in his first full season as the Chiefs starting middle linebacker with 180 tackles.

.

.

Isiah Pacheco

.

Aquaman’s powers include: “superhuman strength, the ability to breathe underwater, and the capacity to communicate telepathically with creatures of the sea.” I don’t have any idea how long Pacheco can hold his breath under water or if he can communicate with sea creatures… but he does seem to have super human strength. That’s enough for me. Call him Aquaman!

.

Harrison Butker

.

Doctor Strange’s powers include: “he uses his spells to bind opponents and create complex shields and barriers.”

I just recall him being available… then not available… which kind of reminds me of Harrison Butker. Actually when he’s “on”… he’s one of hte best kickers in the NFL. Kudos to Brett Veach for scrounging him off of the Pat=nthers Practice Squad in September of 2017.

.

Noah Gray

.

I had to make another Super Hero up, thus… Sproutman! Travis Kelce said recently that Noah Gray has undergone a growth spurt. If that’s true… then he’s officially “Sproutman.”

.

.

Travis Kelce

.

If you’ve seen any of the Shazam! movies recently, then you know the character Billy Batson (who turns into Shazam) is rather immature… just like our Travis Kelce. Kelce may have grown up a bit, but we’ll never forget his throwing a towel as at a referee who had just thrown a flag at him.

.

.

After the game Kelce said:

.

“I can’t throw my flag on the ref,

but he can throw his all day long.”

.

Not mature? Well… shazam!

.

Patrick Mahomes II

.

.

Superman has unreal powers… and so does Patrick Mahomes.
