The Kansas City Chiefs use their 63rd pick in the second round along with 122nd pick and their 249th pick in exchange for Detroit’s 55th pick plus their 194th pick… to select WR Rashee Rice out of SMU. Here’s KCBudMan of DrafTek:

“Chiefs trade away picks 63, 122 and 249 to

receive picks 55 and 194 from the Detroit Lions.”

The Chiefs began the night with 9 more picks (10 overall counting their first round pick – Felix Anudike-Ozomah) so narrowing that down to 8 more was important. Important simply because the Chiefs don’t have room on their roster for 10 total new players. Fans need to know that just because a player is taken in the 2nd or 3rd rounds, doesn’t mean they’re not as good as a first round talent.

From Adam Teicher’s data it becomes clear that Patrick Mahomes can return to throwing 60+ passes of 20+ yards or more in a season.

The Chiefs also traded up to pick #92 from pick #95 to take the 6-foot-5, 312 lbs. right tackle.

The Chiefs now have 8 draft picks total, including the three they’ve already taken. Which means, they have five more coming up tomorrow. From an article written by Ron Kopp Jr. for ArrowheadPride, he says the Chiefs remaining draft picks look like this:

For those of you thinking the Chiefs needed to take a –> WR, an OT and an Edge Rusher early in this draft… guess what… you were right. That’s exactly what they did with their first three picks. We have one more day of the Draft and as you can tell by GM Brett Veach’s picks from the past two seasons, they all count. Big time. Go Chiefs!
