Football is back baby! The Kansas City Chiefs have finished Day One of their Mandatory Mini-camp in Kansas City. The players who were absent included: WR Xavier Worthy, RG Joe Thuney, DE BJ Thompson and placekicker Harrison Butker. Worthy was out as a precautionary measure. Thuney was still rehabbing his injured pectoral muscle. Thompson was admitted to the hospital last Thursday morning with a cardiac arrest and just went home on Monday. LB Leo Chenal, RB Isiah Pacheco and CB Jaylen Watson were “present but limited.”

.
The reason for Butker’s absence is unknown, but their is an article about him at Yahoo.sports.com called, “Chiefs’ Harrison Butker may be removed from kickoffs due to new NFL rules” that talks about what Special Teams coach Dave Toub has said about Butker not performing Kickoffs, with Justin Reid possibly taking his place occasionally, to get an extra defensive man on the field, someone who is more adept at tackling.

Not a good sign when your first round pick… Xavier Worthy… drops the football (at the 46 second mark) when no one is even guarding him.
