Chiefs: Mandatory Camp June 12

Day Two of the Kansas City Chiefs Mandatory Min-camp took place in some glorious weather on Wednesday.

I’m not sure why so many are wanting to see Patrick Mahomes throw a behind the back pass, but maybe it’s because Mahomes is bored and people have seen him throw it in practice… or something like that.

When you’ve won three of the last five Super Bowls apparently you have a tendency to goof off whenever possible.

Chris Jones

Chris Jones got his opportunity to take the podium. Here he talks about the three-peat:

“I think what’s motivating all of us is three-peating.

We’ve got the pieces to be able to do it. [We] brought

back Mike Danna, Tershawn Wharton, Mike Pennel…

we were able to bring a lot of guys back that helped

us get there last year.”

He let them have it — with both barrels — after practice on Wednesday:

“They graded my owner [and] I got two middle

fingers for them. He’s an A+ in my book…

I’m happy to be here. Happy to be back with

Kansas City. Happy to be with the organization.”

Seems right that CJ would express those feelings after Clark Hunt brought him back on a five-year deal worth $158.75M and $95M in guarantees. Stone Cold went on to talk (joke) about Travis Kelce and retirement, his own included:

“Man, listen I don’t think about it. I don’t even want

my mind to think about it… we’ve got more years.

I don’t know though, Trav is pretty f**king old…

I’m just kidding Trav.”

Hollywood Brown

Hollywood Brown also got his chance on the podium (0:12).

Wow, it’s great to here him say it out loud:

“We’re fast. We’re definitely fast. We’re going to put

a lot of pressure on people, for sure. I just think it’s

going to be exciting. I think everyone should be excited

for it.”

Justin Watson

Justin Watson also got a chance to talk to the media. I guess it’s a “what have you done for me lately” world:

That’s good to hear. However, I’m wondering if they’ll be playing pitch-n-catch in Texas or in K.C.? There are those who believe Justin Watson will have more than 500 yards receiving this season:

On Wednesday Justin Watson added:

During Justin Watson’s press conference he used a saying he goes by, that was coined by Hank Aaron:

“Yesterday’s home runs, don’t win today’s game.”

Great quote! Watson also speculated that he is not one of the fastest players on this team this year, whereas, he said he could thrown he hat in the ring last season.
