Chiefs: Perfecting Winning Ugly – Wow! We won. It was an ugly win. It was ugly, but it was a win. That’s where Chiefs Kingdom separates. This week, social media will be replete with posts of how ugly the Chiefs played. How they under-performed. How there’s no way they can advance in the postseason given their performances this season. How the defense will be our doom, and if not them, then special teams. We’ll be inundated about how Frank Clark and Chris Jones aren’t living up to their salaries. We may even hear moaning about Coach Reid and his poor clock-management skills. The Debbie-Downers are thick in Chiefs Kingdom.
Did I mention that the Chiefs won this game, 17-14. They won, marking the first time in franchise history that they have 14 wins in a season.
However, there is that other side. The side I’m on. The side that focuses on the fact that the Chiefs won their 14th game of the season. The side that realizes that no matter what the opposition throws at us, just sit back and relax — Big Red and Mr. Mahomes have got this. That’s the side I’m on. I sleep well at night being on that side. Visions of Mahomes Magic is the stuff which succumbs me to slumber.
View from the Cheap Seats
There is no view from the cheap seats today, ArrowheadOne readers. Yesterday, the Chiefs played an ugly, ugly game. Or should I say (as should you), yesterday, the Chiefs won … again.

Quote of the Game
The Quote of the Game goes to ArrowheadOne’s reader and blogger, HeikoTheWolf –
“In the big picture, no one cares how the 14 wins were accomplished. Only the 14, and No 1 seed, will be remembered.”
Game Song: Midnight Train To Georgia
I don’t know if he will (I hope he doesn’t)… Chiefs OC Eric Bieniemy may leave this year for a head coaching position in the NFL. He certainly deserves it. If he does, right now, the Atlanta Falcons are the perfect landing spot for him. In appreciation of his efforts on the behalf of the Chiefs, I submit:
… and the Game Ball Goes to …
Travis Kelce!
Looking Ahead
Next week, we host divisional rivals Los Angeles Chargers. We have the number one seed locked up, so there’s no reason to play our starters. However, I hope Big Red does — at least for one half. If only to ensure we don’t have players with two weeks before a snap, as well as to ensure that records earned are records broken.
