It all started last August when the pads came on and we found out who could hit and be hit, then it extended to the 2023 season and ended up with a Super Bowl LVIII victory. However, it didn’t end there. No, it took the parade — which turned out to be a tragic event — and ended up this past Thursday evening at Union Station…

… when the 2023 Chiefs received their rings. Of all things to complete a championship season cycle… it comes down to jewelry.

i know the week doesn’t officially begin until Sunday, but last Friday the Chiefs made what could be a thought of as a big move by some fans in the KIngdom, by re-signing WR Mecole Hardman (0:30):
.
.
Since were going backwards, many of us may not know that the Chiefs released RB La’Michal Perine on the 20th of last month.
This theme reminds me of a show from back in the 1960s called, “That Was The Week That Was.” I know you’d have to be an oldie (but goodie) like me to recall that show… but how about it? Anyone else recall that one?
.
Thursday of last week was a big day for the organization. They not only had a Super Bowl Ring Ceremony at Union Station, but they cut Punter Ryan Rehkow then turned around and signed DT Alex Gubner. Gubner is a 6-foot-3, 285 lbs. Defensive Tackle. The Chiefs keep signing DTs so that may have been a focus this offseason, but they could not find a top flight guy… anyway, that’s the reasoning.

.
This past Thursday evening the Chiefs celebrated their Super Bowl LVIII win with a ring ceremony. Coaches, office staff, and players all got rings. I wrote on Friday that the Super Bowl rings were worth $30 K and $50 K. I found out these rings are worth approximately $40K.

Not Actual Size
.
Boy oh boy, if that was the actual size of the ring, they’d be rich for life. As it is, they’re all rich for life. From a piece offered by the FultonSun.com called: “Chiefs give nod to winning ‘Tom & Jerry’ play in jewel-filled Super Bowl ring” and they say this about the rings:
.
“The ring features 529 diamonds and 38 rubies and
totals 14.8 carats. Four marquise diamonds represent
the franchise’s four Lombardi Trophies, including the
last two seasons. The base of the trophies are made
from 19 custom-cut baguette diamonds distinguishing
the Chiefs as the first team to win back-to-back
Super Bowls in 19 seasons.”

.
In an article for CBSSports.com by Garrett Podell called: “Best 2024 offseason move by every AFC team” they had this to say about the Chiefs:
.
“Kansas City Chiefs
Bolstering WR room with signing of Marquise “Hollywood” Brown and first-round draft selection of Texas’ Xavier Worthy. Patrick Mahomes’ deep ball disappeared the moment All-Pro wide receiver Tyreek Hill was traded to the Miami Dolphins. Mahomes threw 41 touchdowns of 20 or more air years [yards?] when Hill was around from 2018 to 2021, but since his departure he has only tossed such scoring strikes in the last two seasons.”
.
Podell goes on and finishes by touting Patrick Mahomes:
.
“That’s why the Chiefs made the two moves they did to acquire receivers with the ability to stretch defenses downfield. They selected Texas receiver Xavier Worthy, who ran a record 4.21 40-yard dash at the NFL Scouting Combine, 28th overall in the 2024 NFL Draft and signing Marquise “Hollywood” Brown, a 2019 first-round pick of the Baltimore Ravens whose 10 career receiving touchdowns of 20 or more air yards since entering the league are tied for the 12th-most in the NFL in that span. Allowing the best quarterback in football to reliably throw deep again is a big deal.”
.
Last week the Chiefs had three days of Mandatory Mini-camp. The first day was on Tuesday:
.
.
Chiefs: Mandatory Camp June 11
.
On Wednesday, thei Chiefs had their second day of Mandatory Mini-camp:
.
Chiefs: Mandatory Camp June 12
.
On Thursday, the Chiefs had a truncated Mandatory Mini-camp practice and that was not only because of their ring ceremony that night but it is tradition to have a short practice on the last day of camp for any Andy Reid team:
.
Chiefs: Mandatory Camp June 13
