With the Kansas City Chiefs victory parade being one week ago today, in what seems like a year, at the end of all the celebrating, Lisa Lopez-Galvan lost her life, senselessly. Here is the link to her families’ Go Fund Me page–> Lisa Lopez-Galvan GoFundMe Page. This is what you’ll find when you go there:

Don’t be fooled by the “201 people just donated” because that likely refers to the last 24 hours, and the real number is 5,000+ – as of Tuesday at 5:28 PM CST. I gave, so please give if at all possible.
Taylor Swift donated two $50K dollar amounts to this cause and then the next day Travis Kelce donated the same. With the goal being $75,000 the more than $374+K raised is met with positive thoughts.

Union Station Shooting Update
The charged — Dominic Miller and Lyndell Mays — are not the same kids who were kept in juvenile detention for the shooting chargers stemming from last Wednesday’s tragic event. These two are adults: Miller and Mays, and they did not know each other, but both face second-degree murder charges. No mug shots have been provided… as of yet… but here’s a picture of Lyndell Mays provided by Channel 41.

The problem occurred when one person said, “I’m going to get you,” and another person interpreted that to mean: “I’m going to kill you,” and that’s when weapons were pulled.
On the day of the parade, Lisa Lopez-Galvan was wearing a #7 Harrison Butker jersey. Her family desires to bury her in the #7 Butker jersey and Butker has donated his jersey to the family. This Update came late yesterday and here’s a video provided by FOX News (23:34).

“Lyndell Mays and Dominic Miller were both charged with second-degree murder, as well as two counts of unlawful use of a weapon and armed criminal action…. the shooting stemmed from an argument that occurred during the Chiefs’ celebratory rally… it is believed Mays was the first to pull out a gun, and then several others, including Miller, also pulled out firearms.”
.
Dominic Miller is believed to be the one who killed Lisa Lopez-Galvan. Both Miller and Mays are being held on a $1 million dollar bond.

Travis Kelce and Jason Kelce shared their thoughts prior to their New Heights podcast coming out later today (1:45):

BTW, “92%ers” is a reference to Jason Kelce saying that the Tush-Push works 92% of the time. Not sure what that has to do with this situation, but there you have it.

For all you manly men out there, realize I have seen a half a dozen counselors in my day. I believe in talk therapy and you should too. Remember, not every therapist can help you. When I saw a therapist in the 80s, he said, “I will meet with you three times and then I will tell you if I think I can help you and I want you to tell me at that time, if you think I can help you.” What a gift that man gave me. You don’t have to feel locked in when you go see a counselor. Be up front when you ask for help. It could make all the difference in your experience.

Chiefs: Time to Step Up
I know a lot of Kingdom fans are waiting to hear just what Brett Veach is able to re-structure Patrick Mahomes’ contract at. HIs ability (Veach) to get Mahomes to take less this season and extend his deal, even past the 12th season he’s already extended it. Kevin Patra at NFL.com said (as of last September):
.
“Mahomes and the Kansas City Chiefs have agreed to terms on a restructured contract that pays the QB $210.6 million between 2023 and 2026, the most in history over a four-year span…. The agreement could reach $218.1 million with escalators by the end of 2026.”
.
That means if Veach is able to re-structure Mahomes deal now, which was just re-structured last September, then they might be able to fit others under the 2024 cap. Per Bleacher Report:
.
“… Mahomes has a cap hit of roughly $58.6 million for the 2024 campaign. However, Graziano wrote that the Chiefs could do a “full restructure” on his compensation next season to open up more cap space. This would be done by “converting all but the required $1.21 million veteran minimum salary to a signing bonus and also converting his $34.9 million roster bonus to a signing bonus,” giving Kansas City more flexibility. Mahomes’ cap hit would be reduced to around $23 million from the original $58.6 million, giving the Chiefs $57 million in total cap space to work with.”
.
Re-structuring Mahomes will be key in how much Veach is able to offer Chris Jones and whether or not he’s even able to offer L’Jarius Sneed anything at all. Probably not.
Without thinking about it very much, the situation with Mahomes is all about Karma: What he’s able to do without, money wise — in the coming year — will make his ability to win championships, more possible… which… in turn… increases his value.
Indeed it is time to step up if you are a Kansas City player, official or a Kansas City fan of any kind. If you have the where-with-all to donate, please do. If you have the need of finding a good counselor, please do, by all means, please. I have found that making your own life a better place will make the ones you love do the same. Karma is a real thing and I hope you can take that with some thoughtfulness.
.
.
By the way, if Mahomes does re-structure his deal, he won’t have to take less at all, in fact it means he will get more, in the long run.
