Chiefs Training Camp Day 1: OPEN THREAD

The Kansas City Chiefs 2018 Training Camp is off with a bang. I can’t recall a Training Camp with more new faces and more expectations that there are for this year’s team. Let’s get down to a few issues before camp actually gets under way at 3:30 this afternoon.

• NT Derrick Nnadi looks ready to make an impact in his rookie season
• The Chiefs as a whole, appear to be as healthy as they have ever been to start a new training camp (knock, knock, knock on wood)
• The return of Eric Berry has begun. His impact is immeasurable
• Justin Houston is now two full seasons removed from his knee-whip injury and expectations are high… 22 high
• New 2nd year QB Patrick Mahomes is now in charge, it’s finally his team and IT IS ON!
• The Bashaud-uh Could-uh Would-uh mini-drama is behind us (I hope)
• The youth movement is in full bloom at this year’s camp and so…
• There’s great hope that every player chosen in this draft class will pay dividends this year or next.

Finally, finally finally… there is football. “LET IT BE” said the 5th Beatle (Laddie Morse)
