Chiefs Win: Break In Sofi In Chargers Inaugural, Using The Bolt-kicker – This was supposed to be an easy one. Just a bump in the road on route to another Lombardi. Enter the Los Angeles Chargers and their wunderkind QB, Justin Herbert. Five quarters later, Harrison Butker had to kick a Field Goal three straight times to bring this one home.
View from the Cheap Seats
Three kicks: 53-yards, 58-yards, and again from 58-yards! All good. The last one counted. That ladies and gentleman is courtesy of our very own Harrison Butker. Or, as he’s affectionately known in the locker room: Butkicker… or, better yet, the world should know him this morning as, The Bolt-Kicker!
This is the section where I normally go through the quarters and tell you how the game progressed and who won. Why bother?
The Chiefs won the game… because … well, the Chiefs win. This game just shows that these Chiefs are so good they can: Win Ugly. Even when the opposing team boasts a QB the NFL has never seen and blasts the pigskin for 311 yards and a touchdown while also scampering for 18 yards, averaging 4.5 yards-per-carry. Yes, Chiefs Kingdom, the Chargers rookie QB, Justin Herbert, caught the Chiefs unaware. Unaware, but not unprepared.
Enter, Harrison Butker. Not only had he tied the field goal franchise record, set by Nick Lowery, of 58 yards… he set it in this game, twice (and the second time — he did it twice, as well — even after being ‘iced’ by a timeout thrown by the Chargers on his second attempt.
I could rustle up a bunch of stats to prove to you why the Chiefs won this game. I won’t because the Chiefs didn’t win many of the stats battles, except the final score. The Chiefs won this game, because, these Chiefs always seem to find a way to win… even when they shouldn’t. Yesterday was such a game. However, the Chiefs did win the stats game in other ways…

How Did I Do?
Last week, I picked the Chiefs to win easily, 54-12. I have no excuses other than, like Coach Reid, the Chargers snuck up on me, too! No matter, a win is a win and I’ll take it!

AO Comment(s) of the Game
This blogger showed repeated positivity throughout the game, even when the Chiefs were down and things were not looking great.
Looking Ahead
Next week, we have the Chiefs in Baltimore against the Ravens, a Monday night game. I may be snookered, but I do believe our Big Red has been playing possum. The Ravens are the second best team in the NFL. Coach Reid comes at them with both barrels blazing. Chiefs win, 35-17.
A Parting Shot
There’s lots of stuff happening in the world of politics and social justice (yes, I know the difference). I opine, a lot and heavily on Twitter. I’d love to agree or argue with you (your choice). If you wish to follow, my political twitter, the address is @mtravisrose, my Chiefs twitter address is @MichaelTRose. Let’s keep ArrowheadOne focused on Chiefs football!
