Getting Hyped! A Little Ditty for Kansas City – I promise not to bore you with a bunch of statistics. I won’t tell you how the Chiefs OL allowed just 111 total pressures this regular season, 2nd fewest in the NFL. Nor will I mention that Chiefs QB Patrick Mahomes is number one in QB passer rating in the postseason of all modern day QBs with 115%. Oh, don’t worry, I’ll still bore you … just not with statistics this time.

No, today, for our last piece before Super Bowl Sunday, I want to hype up my Chiefs brethren, leave the faithful Sea of Red with positive vibes, a chuckle or two, maybe even a guffaw, and a renewed faith that our boys in the Red and Gold will emerge victorious tomorrow. Think of it as a mini-pep rally in written form. Or, perhaps, “A Little Ditty, for Kansas City”… by moi… not John Mellencamp. So, without further ado, let’s get that Super Bowl Championship swagger on, Chiefs Kingdom!

Every great article deserves a rockin’ intro to start her off.  Rules be darned!  I’ll include one for my article, anyway.

First, let’s take a moment to remember and honor the man who started it all, AFL co-founder and Chiefs founder, the always classy Lamar Hunt.

Speaking of class, once infused in an organization, it has a way of permeating it entirely, filtering down generations. Case in point,

From the top to the bottom, the Chiefs have learned that class matters and character counts. Safety, Tyrann Mathieu gets it.

Mahomes does too.

Even when goaded by reporters to talk trash on his SB opponents on Media Day, Chiefs WR Tyreek Hill took the high road.

As for Cheetah, he absolutely ‘reeks’ of confidence.

He may well have a point considering that tomorrow is Groundhog Day.

While Chiefs and 49ers fans alike realize that with these two high-powered offenses, this Super Bowl will be anything but a dog show. However, if it was…

As with all games, weather for the Super Bowl is an important factor.  Why even a concern? The weather in Miami is usually great, right?

In fact, as of this writing, on Sunday, it should be sunny and 68 degrees in Miami. However, there are dissenting forecasts.

Be careful, however, Chiefs fans. It’s a proven fact that the stress of your team being in the Super Bowl can strain your relationship with your significant other.

And while I promised no statistics, I can’t resist this one. Plus, sometimes I lie. A lot.

No pep rally, mini or not, written or not, would be complete without a hype video. Welcome to the Jungle, Chiefs fans.

I hope this little article has amped up your Super Bowl confidence a level or two, fellow Chiefs fans. Hopefully, you have more pep in your step and some extra swag in your championship swagger. Your Chiefs are in the Super Bowl after 50 long years. Savor it.

• May the explosive Chiefs offense be textbook “shock and awe,” raining touchdowns upon a confused and demoralized 49ers defense.
• May Andy shut up the naysayers and the Chiefs announce, loudly, convincingly, and in no uncertain terms, to the NFL and the world who’s the new team to reckon with for the coming decades.
• In short, may the best team win.
