The weather for the Kansas City Chiefs Training Camp in St. Joe is going to be ideal with sunny skies all morning with a high of 65 degrees when practice begins at 8:15 AM which will climb to 74 degrees around 11:00 AM.
Last year the Chiefs had injuries to players at key positions and I think that’s a good reason for the extra caution being applied during this camp as so many of the Chiefs are heading for the MASH tent or just taking the day off due to one ailment or another. Andy Reid has been known for his caution but the number of players sitting has reached new levels. This is from B.J. Kissel at kcchiefs.com:
- Tight end Travis Kelce (knee)
- Defensive lineman Bennie Logan (knee)
- Safety Eric Berry (heel) did not practice for the Chiefs on Monday.
- Cornerback De’Vante Bausby left early with an ankle injury
- Cairo Santos left early with a groin issue
- New cornerback Jacoby Glenn has a concussion.
- Steven Nelson and Derrick Johnson returned to practice but were sitting on Sunday.
