IT-IS-ON! Let the hitting begin! Today is the day when the Kansas City Chiefs will be wearing pads for the first time. Putting on the pads, in literal terms, is the dream fulfilled for a football player. Up to this point in the offseason it’s all been just, “Ballet with a ball.” Now, the real straining begins… as well as the real hitting. Now, we’ll be able to distinguish the keepers from the clutter.
Today, the 2017 version of Kansas City Chiefs begins to come into focus. Sorry to say but, today, the risk of injury goes way up and that, as much as anything else, can determine the fate of quite a few men wanting nothing more than to make this roster.
Here are a few of my favorite moments from yesterday’s practice. Please enjoy, while we’re awaiting today’s “fistivities” to ensue:

Have to emphasize pads haven’t come on yet, but Alex Smith has come out of the gate looking like a player who got better this offseason.
