Kansas City Chiefs Waive 8
On Sunday evening around 6:00 p.m. Central time the Kansas City Chiefs announced they had waived 8 players from the team including:
Bryce Cheek | DB | 6-0 | 195 | Akron | Lewis Center, Ohio
Niko Davis | DL | 6-5 | 285 | Liberty | Buffalo, N.Y.
Curtis Feigt | OL | 6-6 | 310 | West Virginia | Mercersburg, Pa.
Malcolm Jackson | CB | 5-11 | 180 | Charleston Southern | Sugar Hill, Ga.
Seantavius Jones | WR | 6-3 | 200 | Valdosta State | Tucker, Ga.
Jonathan Massaquoi | LB | 6-2 | 264 | Troy | Lawrenceville, Ga.
Kashif Moore | WR | 5-9 | 180 | Connecticut | Burlington, N.J.
Drew Nowak | C | 6-3 | 292 | Western Michigan | Green Bay, Wis.
I don’t see any surprises here. LB Jonathan Massaquoi had some good moments early in training camp. So did wide receivers Kashif Moore along with Seantavius Jones which may also show the depth of the Chiefs wide receiving corp this season. Two years ago and one of those two may have made the 53 man roster. Not this season.
You have to feel for these players — people — because for some of them, their dreams have taken a huge hit and they may never see another roster. Some may languish in the land of free agency for a long time and others could end up on a different roster. With the development of the Chiefs depth, it will be interesting to see how many of John Dorsey and Andy Reid’s cuts end up on other rosters.
How about you Chiefs fans? Any surprises here? Do you think any of these will ever go on to start for another team?
