As we head into the weekend and prepare for the opening game of the season, it is time to think of what we want to eat before the game. Since the Chargers are about to walk The Red Mile, I think a “last supper” is in order for the tailgate.
I did some research and picked some items that mixed the BBQ culture of Kansas City with the Surf and Taco culture of San Diego. It seems appropriate that we show them how to properly cook food before a football game. Here’s what I came up with for the condemned.
Snacks: Guacamole Barbecue Dip and Chips
Mixing some of the Southern California culture with the wonderful flavor of BBQ.
Main Dish: Wet BBQ Ribs
While the beach and surf in San Diego, I think I nice wet sauce on some ribs will do
Side: Red-Hot Stuffed Chiles
Bringing in some more spicy food, but it needs to spend some time on the grill to be done correctly.
Beer: Drunken Munkee from Monkey Paw Pub & Brewery
I thought this beverage would most accurately represent what I expect the boys in blue to look like on the field.
Soft Drink: Pink Lemonade from Batch Craft Soda
For those that don’t imbibe the malted beverages, here is a refreshing soft drink.
Enjoy the pregame and Let’s Go Chiefs!
What’s on your menu for the weekend? Any other additions for their last meal?
