I don’t need to remind you, do I?

In 2017, the Chiefs again swept the Chargers, picked their bones, held the highly vaunted offense to less than 17 points — Twice!

I saw a thread on Craig Stout’s Barleyhop Twitter Account. Without Eric Berry, the Chiefs won. Without Peters we will probably have numerous numerological phenomena that won’t need an astrological alignment…such as tackles made that Marcus Peters didn’t make. We didn’t have Kendall Fuller. I think we are far better off. So they are sayin’, come out to the coast, we’ll have a few laughs eh? I am going with the Chiefs as noted Wednesday. 23-19. I would make out the under to be less than 43.5 now… maybe less. Just sayin’…

HAH! I'm just pointing out what happened last year, man. I feel like too many people are overreacting to specifically Berry's injury, saying the defense could be good enough to win, then shifting to losing by 30 with him out.

I’m Very Likely to be Harsh About This!

Having watched the officiating spectacle in the Eagles-Hawks contest, I think the NFL F– er… messed it up again. I think there were a total of 26 game stoppages in that game. Hence I think my prediction of a score is probably accurate. When officials dominate a game – things are all fouled up. Of course, Mahomes gets deep twice to Hill, once to Kelce and once to Watkins and the run defense holds Gordon to 60 yards or 80 yards? Well, the 38 points that Laddie predicted my could be true. Still, 26 penalties in the game Thursday Night was atrociousness. Good heavens!

Laddie Just About Covered It

I shouldn’t need to focus your attention to Laddie’s article and Reid’s record when preparing for a game (given time), or the Chiefs 5 year season opening record, should I?

At this point? We are going west and the kickoff is 3:05 PM Central. I cannot travel west and that is a shame…were I wealthy, I would be in a seat out in LA — and you know what? I think you will see a good representation of a red wave out on the late coast — advantage Chiefs.

Now for the Injured Outs?

Chiefs: Eric Berry-SS(DNP)
others: Daniel Sorensen-FS(IR)
Chargers: Joey Bosa-DE(Out)
CB Jason Verrett(CB)-Out for the season
Hunter Henry(TE)-lost for the season
Corey Luiget(DL)-essentially lost for the season.

If Not But for a Balancing Act

On the balance of things, the Injury status for the Chargers is quite a bit to the negative. Berry being out hurts. Sorensen too, but he was not going to be a starter, at least in my view. The Chiefs re-acquired Ron Parker (FS) and… if… I do the betting line on rookies breaking in, I would say that we are going to see the import of Derrick Nnadi, Armani Watts, Breeland Speaks and eventually, Charvarius Ward. The Chargers had a strong draft as well but when comparing things? The Chiefs are going to be ahead in the newcomer game as well. Then of course, playing in LA will see a lot of Red Friday Red removed, Stage Left.

Open Thread Game Time

Knowing our illustrious leader, the game thread will be breaking come mid-day or so (11:45 AM CDT). This is usually where the action is. I find it tough to follow the game and the thread at the same time. Here is what I am looking for:

Chiefs OLB Pass Rush
utilizing all four OLBs
Chris Jones getting two Second half Sacks
Ragland and Hitchens putting pads on Gordon each time he touches the ball
Watts getting into the act at Safety
Nnadi and Williams up the middle

And of course, a powerful offense if they can keep from stubbing their toes with 5 yard penalties.
