Midnight Rendezvous: LeSean McCoy is a Kansas City Chief – even if you stayed up late, you maybe didn’t stay up late enough to find out that Brett Veach and Andy Reid were burning the midnight oil when they agreed to terms with ex-Buffalo Bill-ex-Philadelphia Eagle-exAndy Reid compatriot Running Back LeSean McCoy.
Former Bills’ RB LeSean McCoy is reuniting with Chiefs HC Andy Reid, per source. McCoy getting a one-year, $4 million deal that includes $3 million guaranteed from the Chiefs.

McCoy began the day as a 6-10 Bills back and ended it with a team with Super Bowl intentions. While many question McCoy’s abilities at the age of 31…

I was not one of them…
I looked at RB LeSean McCoy's 2018 tape and he doesn't look like he's lost a step… or that he's done yet. Maybe the Chiefs should take a look.
Maybe he just played behind a bad offensive line… or in a bad scheme for him last year? pic.twitter.com/gdHMBigTYo

McCoy was drafted in the second round of the 2009 NFL draft by Philly’s then head coach Andy Reid. Consequently, he’s already very familiar with Reid’s system and scheme language so getting up to speed should be no problem. Speaking of speed, McCoy ran a 4.45 40-yard dash at the NFL combine in 2009 and while some believe he has lost a step, I’m not one of those people either and even if he has, he’d still be faster than 90% of the running backs in the NFL.
McCoy has been to the Pro Bowl 6 times and as recently as 2017 including two times as a First Team Pro Bowl player. He has already surpassed the ten thousand yards rushing barrier and currently sits at 10,606 which places him 25th on the all-time list. He also has 3,616 receiving yards.
McCoy is 4th among “active” leaders in all time yards from scrimmage behind only Frank Gore, Larry Fitzgerald and Adrian Peterson.
Like any great player, the only thing missing from his resume is a Super Bowl victory… which he has a better than average chance of getting this season with his old buddy Andy.
Apparently, there were others who stayed up late enough to notice Shady will be dancing in Fountain Town this year:

Even our favorite local “journalist” hinted at the Return of the Mack.
I had Return of the Mack cued up on spotify but my husband just threw his hat twice and slammed a door so I think maybe I won't do that.

It’s unknown at this time how the signing of McCoy will affect the roster. Welcome to Kansas City LeSean… you’re gonna love it here. Go Chiefs!
