The mini-series drama is over: Patrick Mahomes gets the green light to start this Sunday in Denver.
Mahomes told me the first person he told that he was starting was his mom, who was in town and planning on going to the game on Sunday in Denver anyways.
He said the whole fam is coming now, obviously.

Mahomes said, “it’s not very different, I prepare every week like I’m going to start.” He went on to say that Denver has still has a very good defense and that it’s always good to go up against the best.
I would have to agree with Ransom Hawthorne for the most part, that his starting doesn’t mean much. Alex Smith will still be the Chiefs Starter throughout the playoffs.
The biggest questions I have now will be:
1. How much time will the other offensive first team players be given the opportunity to join Mahomes on the field, and,
2. Will the Denver first team defense be given the chance to t-off on the Chiefs rookie QB all day long vs the Chiefs second and third team offensive units?
No matter who will start, or doesn’t it’s still going to be exciting to see Patrick Mahomes taking the field after all the hype and hysteria over his first-round arrival to the Chiefs.
What do you think Chiefs fans? Have fans and the media made too much of Mahomes arrival?
