The Chiefs Fire Workiest Moments of the 2019 Season

The Chiefs Fire Workiest Moments of the 2019 Season – Happy Independence Day everyone! The fans of the Kansas City Chiefs had plenty of fireworks to celebrate during the 2019 season. Following is just a sparkler’s wave worth of moments from each game last season. Enjoy.

Game One: A Win at Jacksonville

Tyreek Hill went down early in this game and Sammy Watkins made us all believe again. For a moment.

Game Two: The Chiefs Last Game in Oakland

WR Demarcus Robinson had a great game and I was glad when it was over because we’ll never have to see a Chiefs wideout falling on the dirt ever again.

Game Three: A Win at Home vs. the Ravens

The Chiefs win their Home opener 33-to-28.

Flashback Fireworks: Tony G’s Arm

Tony Gonzalez had many wonderful receptions in a Chiefs uniform, but do you remember his long bomb… PASS?!

Game Four: Escaping the Den in Detroit

Chris Jones earning his keep.

Now, who can forget the hook-n-ladder from Mahomes-to-Kelce-to-McCoy?

Game Five: A Loss in Indy

Byron Pringle has to be the best 5th string wide receiver on any team anywhere. An unforgettable play.

Game Six: A 2-Game Losing Streak at

Arrowhead, This Time vs. the Texans

Travis Kelce doing what he always does: beat defenders.

Flashback Fireworks: Sack-a-licious DT

There used to be nothing I enjoyed more than watching Derrick Thomas sack John Elway… and Steve Young of course!

Game Seven: At the Horse Face Place

Matt Moore hits Tyreek Hill here with the Broncos game announcer as pathetically unexcited as any announcer I’ve ever heard. A Broncos DB had it right when he said this of Hill, “He’s the fastest person I’ve ever seen on the football field.”  – Chris Harris on Tyreek Hill

Game Eight: 3rd Loss in 4 Games

Hardman shows us he’d be a hard man to beat… even for Tyreek Hill. The speed of the Chiefs receivers has changed the game… and the way teams drafted this year.

Game Nine: The Winning Begins

It wouldn’t be right to have a Lombardi Trophy raising year without a win over the Minnesota Vikings… now would it? Here Tyreek Hill ends up escorting RB Damien Williams on his 91 yard TD run. Williams tells Hill later, “Don’t ever do that again.” Hill didn’t listen.

Game Ten: The Last Hiccup

PMII did “okay” in his first full game back from injury at the Horse Face Place.

Game Eleven: Ah, Sunny Southern California

Err… Mexico City, Mexico

The Chiefs won their last nine straight games. This was the first of those nine wons. Not sure why but this clip of Kelce doing the Megan Rapinoe pose always makes me smile. Or, did she get it from Kelce? Whatever… he — and she — are greatness!

Game Twelve: Yep, Raiders Weak

The Juan and Only Thornhill makes his first of what will be many an INT vs. the Raiders.

Here’ my Mini-Flashback to 2018 when Jon Gruden said of Patrick Mahomes, “Man he ticked me off today.” It’s moments like those that which make Raiders Week truly enjoyable.

Flashback Fireworks: Lenny, the Heart

of the Kansas City Chiefs for 48 years

Lenny Dawson kind of reminds me of Patrick Mahomes here… or is it the other way around?

Game Thirteen: Test Passed

Before there was a Super Bowl LIV victory, the Chiefs needed to show they could get past the dynastic New England Patriots. Once they did that, the eyes of the team and the fans, looked for new horizons to conquer and once they did that, this game seem to have been long forgotten. The second part of this video shows the moment that happened. Special thanks to CB Bashaud Breeland: an INT in that game an a terrific PBU.

Game Fourteen: A 23-to-3 Route of the Donkeys

The Snow Globe game at Arrowhead. Showing that the snow is Mahomes friend.

Game Fifteen: Duh Bears in Chicago

Harrison Butker’s Double Doink. Not sure this is a highlight… it is a Firework for sure. Mahomes still led his Chiefs over the risky Trubisky team by 26-to-3. That’s only 6 total points allowed for the defense — which was hitting its stride — in a two week period.

Game Sixteen: A 31-to-21 Win = A 12-4 Season

You may recall Tyreek Hill catching up to Damien Williams on his 91 yard TD run in Week Nine. Well, Hill does it again.

It’s hard to not remember Mecole Hardman’s Kickoff Return for a TD vs the Chargers in their last game of the season.

Postseason: Texans and Titans and 49ers

So many different players go into a Super Bowl winning season. Mecole Hardman is one of those guys. After falling behind 24-to-0, Hardman’s kickoff return inspired the troops and helped turn that game around. A couple of plays latter, the offense scored and that was the beginning of 7 straight TDs.

Chris Jones also had a number of important batted passes at just the right moments!

Two Sammy Watkins plays from this postseason will never be forgotten. The first brought tears to me eyes because it meant the Chiefs were going back to the Super Bowl for the first time in 50 years.

The second Sammy Watkins play was when he beat Richard Sherman with a great move and a great catch on a great throw. It meant the Chiefs drive would be sustained deep into the 49ers end of the field and that they were about to score again, taking the lead. It meant to me… that the Chief were about to win Super Bowl LIV!

While “Do we have time to run WASP?” was a moment that will live in infamy like 65-toss-power-trap… it’s the rushing TD by Damien WIlliams that once again, brought me to tears of joy! The ultimate Firework of the 2019 season.

There were so many great firework highlights from the 2019, there’s just not enough space (and time) here to get to them all. No one, especially physically, represents the fireworks of 2019 than Tyrann Mathieu’s hair.
