While the NFL would like us to believe last weekend was the best weekend of football, in my mind, this weekend takes the cake. Any Reid might even agree.. except he’d likely go for that Super Bowl cake most of all. Here’s the remaining game this weekend:
Today, the Tennessee Titans are currently 4.0 favorites over the Cincinnati Bengals and the Over/Under bet is 47.5 combined points if you want to go there. The Packers are 5.5 point favorites over he San Francisco 49ers and the Over/Under on their combined score is 47.0 points. On Sunday, the Tampa Bay Buccaneers are 3.0 point favorites and the Over/Under is 48.0 points. The Chiefs are 2.5 point favorites and the Over/Under is 54. combined points.
Those 54 combined points for the Chiefs and Bills don’t seem like nearly enough to me. Remember when the Rams beat K.C. in L.A. in 2018 by a score of 54-to-51. Doesn’t that seem more likely in this game? With the Chiefs on top of course!
David Bell on this weekend
On Thursday I wrote that the remaining games ought to be good contests–great for fans. Of course, I have the Chiefs over the Bills. Still, it will be a hard-fought game in my view.
Rams at Bucs: When I consider the LA v the Bucs game? I am tired of Tom Brady. Time for him to go. I do not expect this to be a high-scoring affair. Bucs lose in my anticipation.
Packers Host the 49ers: The Saturday Evening game holds special interest for me as I have followed the Pac since the first Super Bowl and even more closely since my younger son is a cheese-head. Jimmy Garoppolo is not a tier 1 QB. I don’t have faith in him to win even in good weather. He will face the Packer defense in frigid weather. The Pack will win this game.
Bengals at Titans: The other contest on Saturday that holds a key for the Chiefs is the Bengals v Titans. I believe that the Cincinnati team is the superior team and should win that game. This is the best outcome for KC as well — The [Chiefs] would get the championship game at home — a big advantage.

While I’d love to see the Bengals beat the Titans, no one knows for sure just how well RB Derrick Henry will be able to move with his foot coming off of surgery on November 2nd of 2021, 82 days ago.
In any case, the Bengals defensive players should be able to tell right away if Henry is just a decoy or can still bring it. Plus, the Titans will attempt to run the ball in any event and if the Bengals defense can limit their running game and force Titans QB Ryan Tannehill to win the game, they have a very good chance at an upset.
If the Bengals pull off a win, Arrowhead will once again host the AFC Championship game, for the 4th year in a row (if K.C. takes care of business on Sunday, which I expect them to do). The Lamar Hunt game should be played in Kansas City!
49ers at the Packers
While this appears to be an interesting match-up, the 2021 49ers look like they’re out-manned and will be out-maneuvered. Aaron Rodgers fake vaccine stunt has me ready to puke every time I see him on my screen now.
While I’d love to see the 49ers upset them, I don’t think that’s in the cards. An upset that might happen could come when the…
Rams Travel to the Buccaneers
Although the Bucs have some injuries that may keep them from performing at a high level, it’s the Rams who appear to have the inside track right now to playing winning ball.
The Rams defense took care of the shifty Kyler Murray last weekend and kept the pressure on him so I doubt they’ll have any trouble keeping Tom Brady under wraps this weekend, no matter how quickly he is able to release the ball. Time for Tom Brady to move on? Yes, please.
Who do you want to make it to the Conference Championships… besides the Chiefs that is?
