The Chiefs began as an idea drawn on a napkin by Lamar Hunt.
If ____ has a great year then….
If DT Chris Jones has a great year then;
I expect top-notch championship football from Stone-Cold Jones.
• the rest of the DL should also have solid seasons.
• the defensive backfield should have less time to cover the Wideouts they’ll have to blanket.
• the Chief’s run defense should also be improved.
• his leadership in the DL room should also be a big plus for the younger Defensive Line.
If Marquez Valdes-Scantling has a great year then…
• The Chiefs Kingdom will forget (but not completely) that Tyreek Hill was traded this offseason.
• It will open up the rest of the field for the rest of the Wide receiving corp.
• TE Travis Kelce will more easily continue his run of 6/7 straight seasons going over 1,000 yards.
If Juan Thornhill has a great year then…
• he’ll have taken over the vocal leadership role that Tyrann Matthieu used to fill.
• Thornhill will be 27 this October so it’s time for him to step up and fulfill that leadership role for what can be considered a young group of DBs.
• this will also mean he’s having success coving WRs over the top and getting more INTs.
If Patrick Mahomes has a great year then…
• the offense will be unstoppable and pundits will be trying to come up with a tricky-new-fangled name for it
• it will mean the RBs will have a stellar campaign.
• EB will get a good offer to be a head coach (which he will accept).
• it will mean the Chiefs will be in the last game of the year (the Super Bowl) right down to the last drive.
If the Chiefs have a great year then…
Player by Player, Vet or Newcomer, Lookout! NFL!
• their “hardest” 2022 schedule in the league won’t seem that way after all.
• other teams will once again attempt to be figuring out how Reid did it?
• lots of lowly Chiefs will become everyday household names.
• the parade will be bigger and redder than ever.
The “IFs” are meaningful. The “THENS” are far more likely than is thought. More items could be listed and the biggest thing about the roster is that it is made up of very capable players, who have speed, intensity, football Moxy, and physicality. Most of all, they are led by the #1 QB in the NFL: Patrick Mahomes.
The NFL pundits, analysts, and sportswriters are writing off the Chiefs. They are mistaken. ArrowheadOne believes the NFL is underestimating the Chiefs. I second that motion!
