In the morning mist the giant form of Arrowhead Stadium looms.
The last time I saw her, she looked cold but comfy, like a hibernating bear.
This last week, she looked tan, rested and ready as I
headed down my favorite shortcut for a practice run.
Many people have no interest in preseason games…
“They don’t count for anything” I hear…
“None of the starters play very long if at all” they say in the break room where I work.
I couldn’t disagree more.
Preseason games are a necessary part of the football season.
Testing new players, testing old players,
testing anything that needs to be tested!
That in itself is a reason to watch in my opinion.
It’s a way for yours truly to test new stuff as well.
Grills, gear, recipes, and more will be put through the ringer
as I sit lazily in my chair before the Hawks come to the greatest football stadium in the world.
I’ll likely take a nap.
There is just nothing like waking up to find you’re at Arrowhead.
Most of the time I take my nephew who usually comes to visit once a year in August.
Sometimes I go by myself and just wander around, explore, and talk to people.
If you like to talk football there is no better place.
Sure I get excited about football this time of year. We all do I guess.
Still nothing takes you from excited to thrilled about a new season and a new year…
like a preseason game.
See you there!
