Blackledge played the entire game for the Chiefs and posted a 19.9% passer rating for his efforts.

As a USC Trojan, Allen was part of the squad that won the NCAA National Championship in 1978, and he individually won the Heisman trophy in 1981. Allen also won XVIII with the Los Angeles Raiders and named the Super Bowl MVP.

Albert Lewis.

The Chiefs picked Lewis in the third-round of the 1983 draft by the Kansas City Chiefs. Lewis quickly established himself as a premiere edge-rusher on the punt-return team. Lewis blocked an NFL-record 11 punts in his career. After leaving the Chiefs, in his final years as a Raider, Lewis became the oldest player to score a defensive touchdown (38 years, 26 days) on November 1, 1998.

7. How many times did the Chiefs qualify for the playoffs during the 1970s?

Once.

The Chiefs appeared in the playoffs only once during the 1970s. In what is still the longest-game ever played, the Chiefs lost, 27-24, to the Miami Dolphins on Christmas Day 1970. The Chiefs would not return to the playoffs again until the 1986 AFC Wildcard game that they lost to the New York Jets, 35-15.

At the time of his retirement, six years later, in 1992, Okoye was the Chiefs all-time leading rusher with 4,897 yards. His last carry as a Chief resulted in an 8-yard rushing touchdown.

The Mack Lee Hill award is voted on by the Chiefs players and coaches and awarded to the Chiefs Rookie of the Year. During his season-ending surgery on the knee two days later at Menorah Medical Center, Hill’s temperature spiked to 108 °F triggering severe convulsions, and he died 1½ hours after surgery. Tom Bettis.

Rison also played an additional year in the Canadian Football League for the Toronto Argonauts (2004–2005) whom he helped win a Grey Cup.

The former Chiefs wide receiver holds the franchise record with most receiving touchdowns in a season, with 15, thanks to his efforts in the Chiefs 2010 campaign. Bowe also led the NFL in receiving touchdowns that season. Bowe retired a Chief in 2019 after signing a one-day contract with the organization.
