Week 11: Chiefs At Giants OPEN THREAD

With the 2017 Bye Week now in the history books, the Kansas City Chiefs are in New York where they’ll take on the Giants of the NFC East. K.C. has already faced Washington, Dallas, and Philadelphia this season so this is the last game they’ll have against NFC East foes this year.

Apparently, the Giants WR Sterling Shepard has now been ruled out of the game today because of an unspecified illness.

Also making Giants news this week is UDFA lineman Chad Wheeler out of USC who may be making his starting debut with Justin Pugh out for this game. As reported by 247sports.com,

“Chad Wheeler could finally be making his long-awaited first career NFL start this Sunday for the New York Giants when they host the Kanas City Chiefs in Week 11. With starting right tackle Justin Pugh already ruled out and with starting right guard D.J. Fluker dealing with a nagging knee injury, the Giants could be starting new players at both positions on Sunday. Wheeler is not sure where he might play, but he dropped a hint on Thursday to reporters that he’s confident he will get his first opportunity this week.”

With the N.Y. Giants team in disarray… it’s hard to imagine them getting… “disarray-ee-er.”

Although I previously believed that changes at the Giants Guard positions would mean the Chiefs Allen Bailey would have a breakout game… it now appears that Bailey is out and Bennie Logan is up. While it may sound like the Chiefs go into New York with a host of advantages, it’s sometimes better to have knowledge of who you’re facing, otherwise a new player coming on the scene can surprise you.

Tamba Hali, Dee Ford, Allen Bailey, and Albert Wilson are all out this week.

So, it’s a matchup of the 6-3 K.C. Chiefs who have only lost to the Steelers, Cowboys and Raiders… vs… the 1-8 N.Y. Giants whose only win came at the expense of the Denver Broncos. Go Chiefs!!!
